STUDIO CITY, CA – May 15, 2017 – Production has begun on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original “Darrow & Darrow,” starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley (“Father of the Bride”), Tom Cavanagh (“The Flash,” “Ed”) and Wendie Malick (“Hot in Cleveland,” “Just Shoot Me”). From Emmy Award ® winner Phoef Sutton, whose credits include “Boston Legal” and “Cheers,” shooting is taking place in and around Vancouver, B.C.
“Darrow & Darrow” follows the life of Claire Darrow (Williams-Paisley), an idealistic lawyer who fights for what's right, regardless of whether it makes her a dime. Kay (Malick) is her estranged mother, who suddenly reenters the picture after losing her job at a New York law firm after taking the fall for an insider trading scandal. The pair clashes on nearly everything, especially on the best way to raise Claire’s daughter, Louise (Lilah Fitzgerald), a bright 12-year-old with an older soul. Further complicating Claire’s life is Miles Strasburg (Cavanagh), the A.D.A. While he’s her adversary in the courtroom, outside of court Miles tries to make a case for taking their professional relationship to a more personal level.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Phoef Sutton, who has one of the most unique voices in television and proven track record for creating extraordinary, multilayered characters,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “Kimberly Williams-Paisley has been a wonderful, collaborative partner in the creative process and leads a stellar cast that includes Tom Cavanagh and Wendie Malick. We know their combined talents will bring to life a world where our viewers will enjoy spending time.”
“Darrow & Darrow” is a Brad Krevoy Television Production in Association with Axelrod-Ett Productions. Brad Krevoy, Jonathan Axelrod, Alan Ett, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Brian Wilkins, Eric Jarboe, Amy Krell, Amanda Phillips Atkins and Jimmy Townsend are executive producers. Peter DeLuise is co-executive producer. Harvey Kahn serves as producer. Michael Shepard is supervising producer. Vince Balzano is associate producer. DeLuise directs from a script by Phoef Sutton.

My Take...
Hallmark is opening a new case, or rather movie, based on lawyers, and I personally think it's rather nice to see a new Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie that is (I'm assuming based on plot content above!) not based upon a murder mystery.
Plus, I'm so happy to see this trio work together... Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tom Cavanagh and Wendie Malick! They are all fantastic!
Kimberly has always had such a spark about her, an effervescent quality, just like her sister Ashley! Tom Cavanagh oozes personality in such a fun way that draws viewers to him, like a magnet! Then, there is Wendie Malick, who always portrays engaging characters, who are typically unique and fascinating!
From the cast to the storyline released above, I know I'm already intrigued and can't wait to see 'Darrow & Darrow' this fall on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!

Speaking of movies, are the "It's a Wonderful Movie" awards polls going to continue? I'm just wondering because I think it's been a month since the last poll was posted.
ReplyDeleteThe "It's a Wonderful Movie" Awards are BACK today! Thank you so much for asking. I'm so grateful for everyone's enthusiastic support!
DeleteBlessings to you! Net
I thought Ashley Williams was working with her sister on this, but I see no mention of Ashley. Or was that another movie they were working on together? I like Kimberly too, but LOVE Ashley. So happy to see Tom Cavanaugh back too :)
ReplyDeleteI originally thought they would both be working on this project too, but like you, I don't see Ashley's name mentioned. I do know Ashley is also expecting her second child this spring and she had difficulties with a previous pregnancy, so it's possible she is taking it easy right now.
DeleteIt is, however, planned for both sisters - Kimberly and Ashley, to star in the Hallmark Christmas movie - "Lights, Camera, Christmas" Part One and Part Two together!
This two part movie is summarized by IMDB as... "Two sisters and a holiday to remember."
I, too, love seeing Tom Cavanaugh's name attached to this! It's been way too long since we've seen him on Hallmark! Debbie Macomber's Trading Christmas!
If this ends up being a murder free HMM movie, I'll be happy to see it too!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :)
DeleteAmen to the murder free mystery!! It makes me so sad to be missing all the murder movies Hallmark puts out, cause they have all my favorite celebs in them, but I just don't like seeing death! I want to see life. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd...I thought Darrow & Darrow was supposed to be a series, not a movie. I want more than just a movie! Ha.
Thanks for everything, Net.
This looks like a really good movie, with a lot of talented actors. "Murder-free" would be wonderful!
