I'm so glad you have come to celebrate here at It's A Wonderful Movie today! I just pulled up another chair, and set a place for you! Welcome! You're at home here. I do hope you enjoy the company. If only I could pass you a piece of delicious turkey or mashed potatoes & gravy, and lots of other yummy side-dishes!!!
When our meal is done and we settle in, either alone, or with all our loved ones and leftovers, that last for days... let us cherish this time and make memories, as we gather around to chat, play games, and watch Christmas Movies (of course!!!)!

I am so thankful for my Precious Savior Jesus Christ and the Joy of celebrating His birth - 2016 years ago!!! Also, I am truly blessed to have such dear family to rejoice with! As we gather, I always wish I could bottle up this special time of having everyone home and close. As we sit around the table, my mind often drifts to other Thanksgivings and loved ones who are no longer here, but forever close in my heart and ever-present in the faces of other family members and in my happy memories! Let us treasure the little things... watching the parade Thanksgiving morning, setting the table just right, and even the spilled milk is a gift - simply because it means we are surrounded by those we love!!!
Please know, I am truly grateful & I always love hearing from you!!!
God Bless Us, Everyone!!!
Have a Blessed, Happy Thankgsgiving,
Thank you for being a special part of the
It's a Wonderful Movie family!
And a most wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Net! And let us all take time on Thursday to reflect on the blessings that our Lord has bestowed on us and our loved ones this past year! And thank you, Net, not just for all of your hard work on this site, but also for your caring attitude and thoughtful words that continually remind us what the Christmas season is truly all about!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Mark!!! You said that so beautifully! Thanksgiving is, indeed, a wonderful time of your reflection and giving thanks to the Lord!
DeleteYou are definitely a special part of the It's a Wonderful Movie family, Mark, and I appreciate all your comments & contributions to the site this Year! Your words are a gift to me! Thank you!!!
God's Blessings and Happy Thanksgiving, my Movie Friend!!!
Net
I’m really surprised that the new “Anne of Green Gables” movie wasn’t listed in this post. I know it’s not a Christmas movie, but I thought it would at least get mentioned (especially since Net has expressed her interest in the series in the past).
ReplyDeleteI did give it a brief mention towards the end of the post as a non-Holiday movie airing this week. I will add pictures of the three movies - so everyone will be sure to see it!
DeleteThank you for commenting! Happy Thanksgiving!!! Net :)
Net -- It's important to mention that the Candace Cameron Bure movie, "Journey Back to Christmas" is apparently scheduled to air on the Hallmark Channel only one time -- and that would be the premiere night, Sun., 11/27.
ReplyDeleteAfter that, it appears to be moving over to the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel. I'm not sure if it will air again on the main Hallmark Channel in the final week of December, but right now it is not on the schedule at all beyond 11/27.
So, in other words, if people don't watch or record "Journey Back to Christmas" on Sunday night, 11/27, and if they don't have the HMM channel, they might not be able to see the movie.
This might be worthy of a "reminder" blog over the next couple of days -- because I know that people are going to be so busy with holiday activities that they might not be too aware of what is happening with this specific movie.
Yes, that is an excellent point, Sherry. Thank you for mentioning it. I intended to share that when posting the movie above. I will be certain to add that - especially for those who only have the Hallmark Channel. I was surprised to see 'Journey Back to Christmas' would be moved to HMM so quickly. I suppose it must have a more dramatic element to the story. That must be it!
DeleteBlessings to you, Honey! Thank you for adding so much to the site! You are so great at finding & sharing news!
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Net :)
Thank you for the kind words, Net! Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to learn about these movies that we all love (especially Christmas movies). I know you put a lot of time, work and care into the site.
DeleteSpeaking of finding and sharing news, I have been busily tracking productions of what I assume are Hallmark's Winterfest movies and Countdown to Valentine's Day movies. There are 8 titles floating around that will somehow be split up between January and February. I have found the actresses in several of them. The lead actors are a little more difficult to confirm, but there are some solid prospects.
If Hallmark goes with 4 Winterfest movies and 5 Valentine movies again, then we'd only need one more title to be added in. But, for all we know, they might just do 3 Winterfest movies and 5 Valentine movies -- or 4 and 4. They may do 6 Valentine movies and 3 Winterfest movies. It's hard to say.
If Mariah Carey is still doing her Valentine movie (and if it is not one of the titles that is already floating around out there), then it might be the 9th title.
Yay! I'm going to be enjoying a lot of Christmas movies this Thanksgiving holiday weekend!
ReplyDeleteMisty
Me, too!!! Love seeing all the old & new!!! So fun!!! :)
DeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Misty!!! Thank you for all the wonderful comments you've made to the site this year!

DeleteThank you bunches & bunches!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!! Net
I'll be taking a one-night break from Hallmark on Thanksgiving night to watch the new "Anne of Green Gables" movie which is airing on PBS nationwide at 8PM. It may not be Christmas-themed but it's family-friendly and I my girls are really looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteYou may want to check your local PBS station, but mine is replaying it the same night - around 2 AM or so. And, they are also playing it on Sunday morning. But, not all PBS stations are the same - so if you decide to try and catch it later, you will definitely want to check your guide.
DeleteI'm looking forward to seeing this version, too, especially since Ella Ballentine (the young girl playing Anne) was my first interview, ever.
Hope you and your girls enjoy the new Anne of GG!!!
Happy Thanksgiving, Susan!!!
Blessings to You & Yours!!! Net :)
There's also a new, original holiday movie from BYU TV, Winter Thaw (also available to watch, for free, via their website, I believe). They have several original holiday offerings this weekend.
ReplyDeletesee: http://www.byutv.org/seethegood/post/Be-Uplifted-this-Christmas-with-New-Holiday-Specials-on-BYUtv.aspx
Thank you SKP for sharing this news for BYU. I looked up Winter Thaw and created a post, here: http://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2016/11/winter-thaw-byu-tv-holiday-special.html. I included additional airings, since I missed sharing the first.
DeleteAnd, you are right, you can watch it online. It's a 52 minute special.
For those interested, I do have BYU's other Christmas movies this weekend in my Christmas TV Schedule. Silent Night is an interesting tale of how the song Silent Night came to be and Christmas Oranges is a very touching, heartwarming Christmas story.
Thank you, again, SKP!!!
Merry Christmas!!! Net :)
Only made it halfway through Christmas in Homestead. I love these movies which show beautiful quaint small towns all decorated for Christmas. My problem was similar to many of these movies such as 2015s "I'm Not Ready for Christmas" starring Alicia Witt. They have the main female character who has almost no redeeming qualities but somehow the main character is attracted to her and continues to show interest. Makes the plot just too hard to swallow unfortunately. I thought the actors were fine and did good work with the material they were given and the settings were perfect but I guess I'm getting tired of this particular story line.
