ReplyDeleteMisty
Your welcome, Misty!!! I hope you enjoy my play by play! I love sharing the Christmas movie news!!!
DeleteIt was interesting to see what was included and left out. It seems we are always left with a puzzle, with missing pieces!!!
Blessings, Net :)
This is so neat!!!! I love it!!!!! Again, not enough, but you depicted it perfectly, Net!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Linda! I always want more, too! At least a little more cast info would have been great, but as always we shall have to wait and see.
DeleteI thought after the announcements, we would have all the Answers... but now it seems we have a lot more Questions!!!
Thank you for watching with me today!!!
Hmm, that is interesting RE: The Bridge. Kingsbury's website still has it premiering in "December 2015," but just says "Hallmark Channel," not Movies and Mysteries. And a Google search of the title shows they just cast the male lead last month, with the female upcast at that time. I know these TV movies have a fast turn around, but you'd think that if they're not in production by September, at the latest, a November/December premiere seems rather unlikely.
ReplyDeleteMany of the Christmas Movies coming this Christmas Season, including The Christmas Note, are actually filming right now. It is a quick turn around, but they do that now incredibly in rapid speed.
DeleteFor now, it's a Mystery!!!
According to this Twitter pic they started filming on Sep 8 and Faith Ford is in the film.

There are more Twitter pics of filming in Victoria, B.C., Canada and, as of Sep 5, according to Kingsbury they were still planning to air it this Christmas season.

I can't understand them leaving out The Bridge. For months they have been advertising on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries that it was coming this Holiday Season. Are they holding it back now for next year or what?
ReplyDeleteYes, I recall those commercials. They were short and showed the book cover for Karen Kingsbury's book, The Bridge... saying it was coming, as you said, this Christmas.
DeleteHmmm? Wonder what happened. I had also heard this movie would be part 1, so I'm also not certain what that means.
Maybe (Light bulb thought!) they will delay it until Christmas in July next year and do Part 1 in July and then continue it to Part 2 during Christmas 2016! That's an idea, anyway!!!
Putting the first movie in July and the second movie around Christmas time is a good idea! When I first heard that “The Bridge” was just starting filming in late August, I was concerned about whether or not the movie’s release date would get pushed back from its November 29th release date. Now, after seeing that “The Bridge” isn’t even on the Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas line-up schedule, I agree with Net and think that the movie will be released in 2016 instead of 2015.
DeleteI believe I saw on Twitter a picture of Karen Kingsbury with her boys and she mentioned one was in the movie and the other on set. I wish I could remember where I saw it. It seemed as if they are filming it now but I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing those links with me on Twitter, Becky! It looks like they are still planning and expecting for The Bridge to air this Christmas Season... and they seem to always say the Hallmark Channel and not HMM. Interesting, huh? I just can't understand it... if it is, indeed, airing this year... then why didn't they choose to announce it? Quite Puzzling!!!
Delete100 days until Christmas!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! Let the Countdown begin!!! :)
Delete100 days until Christmas!
ReplyDeleteABC Family 25 days of Christmas is Coming Soon!!! Sometime September 17 - October 31.
Should be fun to see everyone's Christmas Schedule this year... UP, INSP, ABCfamily, and so on!!! It's all coming soon!!!
DeleteThanks for doing this, Net. You know what excites me? Adding a dog to the Yule Log! I loved it last year with Happy the cat. What a relaxing way to end the day, listening to lovely music and watching Happy enjoy the fire. Adding a dog to the mix doubles the fun. Especially because I can enjoy them without having to clean up pet fur afterwards (love my cats and my sister's dogs and cats, do not love all the hair all over everything.)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, look forward to your updates as the schedules get finalized.
Merry Christmas Countdown!
Deb
This will be my first year to see the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Yule Log and I'm so looking forward to it! I'm sure Happy the Cat & Dog will be truly adorable! I adore both cats & dogs!!!
DeleteThank you for your comment, Deb!
Merry Christmas Countdown to you, too!!! Love it!!! :)
Blessings!!! Net
I, too, wondered about the lack of a mention of "The Bridge," just as I wondered about the lack of a mention of the "When Calls the Heart" movie/series 3 premiere that was supposed to have been Christmas-themed! Maybe, since the movie is being filmed now, there is some concern as to whether or not it will be finished and they didn't want to promise it?
ReplyDeleteYou know what I noticed? Last year, Movies & Mysteries (or the Hallmark Movie Channel was the name then, wasn't it?) had something like 43 movies in their rotation. That included the new ones and the 5 or 6 "classics" (such as "Christmas in Connecticut") and the old ones, such as "The Christmas Card," "A Christmas Wish," etc.
This year, there was something that flashed on the screen that said "over 60 movies," if I recall correctly. We know that there are only 3 new movies. So, this means that HMM has either added some more "classics" to the rotation, OR they are 'borrowing' more movies from the regular Hallmark Channel. Maybe they are doing both -- adding more classics and adding more from the Hallmark Channel.
Seeing as it looks like "The Christmas Ornament," "Angels and Ornaments," "Christmas With Holly" and "Christmas Magic" are all slated for HMM's rotation, which other movies could have been added in (beyond what aired last year) to make up the 60 movies?
At this time, it's anyone's guess when & where "The Bridge" will end up? According to the writer, Karen Kingsbury's social media sites, she states it will be on the Hallmark Channel. It's so strange they didn't announce, though.
DeleteInteresting point also on the addition of more movies airing in the rotation on HMM. That will really help to eliminate some of the constant repeats. I was personally looking forward to the classic Thursdays they did last year on HMM, but it doesn't look like they are doing that again this year, thus far.
Guess we'll soon see!!!
As always, I appreciate your comments! Thank you!
"The Bridge" has HMM written all over it. It may debut on Hallmark, but it will end up on HMM one way or the other. I just have a feeling that Hallmark did not want to announce or promise it because it is currently being filmed. Maybe there has been some sort of delay in the filming process and that has left the premiere date in question. It will pop up somewhere, but it might be later in December if they don't get it wrapped up quickly.
DeleteI may be in the minority, but I am in favor of the bounty of repeats. They are an advantage to all of us, even if it does not seem like it. It comes down to.... would you rather NOT have many chances to see your favorite movies (and movies that you somehow missed seeing in the past), or would you rather have many chances to try to catch those movies at a time that is convenient for you? I vote for the latter option. It is better to have too many showtimes than too few.
It is a 2-month marathon, so multiple repeats are needed. We're not all on the same schedule, in the same time zones, or available to watch movies at the same times of the day. Some people enter in to the marathon at different points, i.e., between Halloween and Thanksgiving; right after Thanksgiving; when December begins; only 2 weeks before Christmas; only the week of Christmas; only between Christmas and New Year's, etc. Can you imagine if the multiple repeats were eliminated and everyone had to miss their favorite movie -- or a movie they have never seen in the past -- because it already aired one week or one month prior? People wouldn't be happy with that, which is how I felt about July's marathon.
I have to be honest in that I could barely get into this past July's (short) marathon at all, because either my favorites were left out of the line-up, or they only aired once or twice. That drove me nuts. It was not always a good time for me to sit down and watch a movie at the one and only time it aired. If they only ran something once or twice in 2 months and did not repeat it often, I would probably begin to tire of the Countdown and become less interested in it because I would end up missing a lot of movies.
The other benefit to the repeats is for those of us who have both Hallmark Channels. If there is a movie I love airing on HMM at the same time another movie I want to see is airing on the regular Hallmark Channel, I would be mighty annoyed if I had to pick one or the other without the security of knowing that the other movie was going to be repeated several more times before the end of the year.
The only problem that I have with the repeats is that I think that all of the pre-2015 movies should be repeated the same number of times, and those repeats should be spread out over all different times of day and night, over the course of two months. In other words, if all movies were going to be shown 8 times each, for example, spread out those 8 showtimes per movie so that 4 of the showtimes are not grouped together in one weekend, and always at the same times! Every movie should have early morning showtimes, afternoon showtimes, evening showtimes, and middle-of-the-night showtimes at some point in the 2 months. But the way it usually happens is that something like "A Bride for Christmas" or "Meet the Santas" is shown 4 times over 2 days, at almost the same times of the day, and it shouldn't be like that.
It looks like "Mr. Miracle" is also being added to HMM, along with "The Christmas Ornament," "Christmas Magic," "Angels & Ornaments" and "Christmas with Holly." There are probably a few others from the regular Hallmark Channel rotation that will move to HMM. I noticed last year that "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year" moved over to HMM at one point, after it had already aired on Hallmark several times. Maybe that will happen again.
The "Movie" list page on the HMM website currently lists the premiere date of Kingsbury's The Bridge as November 29th. Unless that gets removed from that page within the next few days, the filming must be on schedule. I don't know anything about the book or plot, but maybe "Part 1" doesn't quite reach Christmas, and that's why they didn't include it as part of the Christmas announcements.
ReplyDeleteYes, they do! I currently have it listed there on my Christmas TV Schedule page, but these times do change, sometimes, and it still doesn't make sense that it was not announced. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
DeleteAs Net said, the times do change. Way before I ever found this website I was stalking Hallmark's press page (which had a schedule on it), and I noticed that the times and schedules changed often. Hallmark is notorious for changing things -- even down to the channel that a movie airs on when it was originally slated for the other channel.
