MOVIE REVIEW

The Bible: The Epic Miniseries

*Please Note: The Bible is an epic five-week, 10 hour television miniseries created and produced by husband and wife team, Roma Downey (Touched By an Angel) and Mark Burnett (The Voice, Survivor, Shark Tank, Celebrity Apprentice). Beginning on March 3, 2013, for two hours each Sunday night, viewers will see some of the best-known stories from the Bible, from Noah's Ark and the Exodus to Jesus’ birth & the disciples. The final episode of The Bible TV miniseries will air on Easter Sunday and will feature the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. (information via : The Bible Miniseries web-site.)

Rated: The Bible Miniseries realistically depicts scenes from the Bible including battles, massacres and the crucifixion. Some scenes may not be appropriate for children —we would advise leaders and parents to treat this production like a PG-13 movie and make viewing decisions appropriately.

Thank you Roma Downey and Mark Burnett! God bless you both! I have been a big fan of Touched by an Angel for years, so it is good to see Roma a part of something that shares her faith again.

  9. I watched the first two episodes and felt there was too much EMPHASIS on violence so have not watched any further episodes. It certainly is not family viewing. I am a long time Christian and was deeply disappointed. There is more to the Bible story than killing! I believe the old Charleton Heston Bible movies were more accurate and much easier to watch.

  10. In this series, The actor who played jesus was required to follow their script, but the script misquoted Jesus's actual words. This is extremely serious and forbidden. The series is good except forthat
