Movie Review:
The Animation of this film is amazing and Spectacular!
Much of the dialogue is the same as many Christmas Carol renditions. I liked how they stayed true to the original theme and story of Charles Dickens tale of A Christmas Carol.
The characters are all very well done and their animation and voice-overs are fantastic. Jim Carrey was great as Ebeneezer Scrooge and many other characters. His voice was perfect for Scrooge. There were a couple of lines that reminded me of The Grinch - but it wasn't distracting. The story of A Christmas Carol is quite captivating and I must WARN you - that small children who fear the dark or potential monsters under the bed or any scary characters at all - then please don't let them see this. Scrooge's friend Jacob Marley - has passed away, and we see him as such in the very beginning of the movie with gold coins over each eye - which Scrooge takes with him before his friend is buried. Afterwards, on Christmas Eve Jacob Marley returns to Scrooge's home as a ghostly figure to warn Scrooge of his selfish ways. So, Marley and all of the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future are all rather creepy looking and could cause children to be terribly frightened.
There is, of course, redemption and forgiveness for the greedy Ebeneezer Scrooge in the end - when he learns that he isn't too late to love and be loved by family and his fellow man. He takes great joy in giving his money to charitable causes and being with his nephew, Fred, and his friends. Scrooge helps out Bob Cratchett and his family and becomes a good friend, of Tiny Tim, who in turn adores Mr. Scrooge and iconicly ends the movie by saying... "God Bless Us, Everyone!"
See or Skip:
Both...
SEE... If you love various adaptions of "A Christmas Carol"
SKIP... Please skip for children! Even though this is an Animation, I strongly warn you against it! This movie may frighten young viewers.

I agree the movie was not bad. And yes this is a very Dark version! Not one to watch with little kids. In fact after I watched it I wondered what the heck was Disney thinking!
