Storyline: Annie (McKellar), a spirited, Manhattan-based flight attendant, thrives on adventure and freedom, until an unexpected airline merger grounds her career and a breakup with a self-absorbed boyfriend leaves her questioning everything. Searching for clarity, Annie takes a road trip to her grandmother’s rural Kentucky farm – a place she hasn’t visited in years, though it holds close to her heart. Nothing on the farm seems to have changed, except Jake (Donovan), Annie’s childhood friend, who recently traded in fast-paced city life for something more intentional. As two old friends reconnect, Annie rediscovers what matters most – family, faith, community, and the kind of love that stays rooted when everything else seems uncertain.
Reviews:
❤️ There’s a certain comfort in stories that feel like home, and for me this one carries that special endearing warmth, especially with its beautiful country setting.
Plus, no matter where you live, “Grounded in Love” has that familiar, feel-good story we movie lovers know all too well... Danica McKellar’s character Annie returns to her hometown after losing her job, she reconnects with her roots, and inevitably crosses paths with her special high school friend, Jake (Trevor Donovan), the one who essentially got away. And no spoilers included, but from there you likely know (as Paul Harvey used to say)… the rest of the story.
However, this movie is much more than just a typical romance. Along the way, Annie deepens her bond with her warm, spirited grandmother, uncovers the rich history of the family farm she once thought she’d leave behind forever, and best of all, she gradually rekindles her faith and trust in God.
The Kentucky farm setting is simply gorgeous on screen- rolling fields, golden sunsets, and a peaceful charm. The colorful Fall leaves in the background really make it a perfect Autumn movie.
While Annie and Jake’s love story is very sweet, it’s the themes of family, community, heritage, and faith that give the movie real heart. At the end, I found myself wishing it had gone on just a little longer. “Grounded in Love” is a wholesome, family-friendly watch I’d happily recommend. ~Net
❤️ I watched "Grounded in Love" on pureflix...and it is my FAVORITE movie that Danica and Trevor have done yet! The scenery was breathtaking, and I just loved these two together. I love that it wasn't a typical romance story, this was about Danica's character finding herself again and finding what matters most. ~Sarah
Note: "Grounded in Love" encores 3 times on Sunday at 4am / 11am / and 8pm EST!

Storyline: A single mom agrees to be the partner of a bird enthusiast for a birding competition but misunderstands the assignment and tells everyone she's his new girlfriend instead of just his teammate.
Note: "Adventures in Love & Birding" encores on Sunday at 6pm EST!
I hope you’re able to enjoy some relaxing time this weekend with one (or both!) of the new movies, along with the latest episode of "Crossroad Springs." I had the chance to stream the episode on PureFlix last night, and it’s another heartwarming story you won’t want to miss. I look forward to hearing what you all think of it, too!
Also, I’ve already watched "Grounded in Love", and if you haven’t seen it yet, you can read both Sarah’s and my review above. It's a wonderful mix of Faith, Farm, and Fall!
Please note: I haven’t pre-screened "Adventures in Love & Birding", so if you'd like to share your thoughts after it airs, please do so in comments below. And please feel free to share your opinion of "Grounded in Love" and "Crossroad Springs.", too.
Autumn Weekend, Everyone!
"A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Hello All-
ReplyDelete“Grounded In Love” is a terrific movie that should not be missed. Net’s review is so correct about a heartwarming movie with joyful layers of a story. I enjoyed the secondary characters along with Jake and Annie’s journey toward romance. Danica and Trevor were at their best in the movie.

lots of great entertainment
ReplyDeleteI watched Crossroad Springs on Friday night too. Another a great episode as they all have been. I hate to see the season come to a close so soon! I have some predictions for the future but not going to say right now. I will just say I see a big surprise romance for the future!

Crossroad Springs: Season 1 finale

We really enjoyed both Crossroad Springs and Grounded in Love. They both did a great job blending faith and family.
ReplyDeleteI get what you mean about Grounded ending kind of fast. It jumped to the credits right after the kiss. Still, Trevor and Danica were both fantastic. Christie
I'm in total agreement with you Christie, Sarah and Net - this is a wonderful film about self-discovery and that by relying on faith the Lord will help you get through your problems. Danica and Trevor do a great job together! My only problem, as mentioned, is that the ending seemed awfully abrupt, like they ran out of time to properly finish the film.
DeleteAlso, I can't recall any other Hallmark, GAF, etc. movie in which someone mentions that they should move in together. (Danica's boyfriend mentions this at the start of the film.) I know there's been some movies in which it is implied that a couple is living together, but are there any others where someone asks the question outright? Just curious...
Just finished catching up on Crossroad Springs and I’m officially hooked.
ReplyDeleteNot gonna lie, I wasn’t sure after the first episode, but now I can’t believe the finale is already next Saturday. Love seeing characters actually talk about their faith.
I have enjoyed Crossroad Springs. The writing is very slow-paced and reflective, seeming to mirror the more laid-back, less hectic ranch life (though not less conflictive). And yet, having a baby sure wasn't slow-paced at all (ha!). I laughed when Lewis and Tina meet Janet in the parking lot of the medical clinic as it's the first time that cars have been shown in the parking lot even though they are always busy with people there. The show feels more serious and yet I don't think it takes itself too seriously, if that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Grounded in Love, lovely story. Adventures in Birding, though I like the leads, I don’t see what was Fall like about it, I would have thought it would have made a good spring watch.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, Thank you for sharing that. The poster for Adventures in Love & Birding looks like there are Fall leaves in the background, so I thought it would be Fall related.
DeleteI know sometimes they make posters look like the season they are representing even if the movie actually doesn't.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. :)
Adventure in Love & Birding is family friendly. It’s based on Birding with Benefits by Sarah T. Dubb A divorced single mom named Celeste agrees to be the partner of a bird enthusiast named John for a birding competition but misunderstands the assignment and tells everyone she's his new girlfriend as fake relationship with a shy birdwatcher instead of just his teammat in a high-stakes bird-watching contest in Tucson, Arizona. As they spend time together, their fake relationship turns into a real one, blending steamy romance with the joys of birding & self-discovery. Celeste & John go on bird sightings with a different kinds of birds
ReplyDeleteCW finally gave premiere dates for their Harlequin movies. They will air this November and December. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Thank you for sharing this info! The CW isn't a channel I keep up with regularly these days.
DeleteWhat do you think of the movies? I'm just wondering if any of them are family-friendly.
I noticed one has a fortune teller and another one mentions pet psychics. As much as I like Corey Sevier, I'll be skipping "Second Guessing Fate," since the plot includes a fortune teller.
I do think "Montana Mavericks" sounds goods, as long as it is wholesome. Dennis Andres has been in a couple UPtv movies that I liked.
Here's the link for anyone who would like to see the list of 6 new rom-coms on The CW and the story descriptions:

Again, thank you, Maria for sharing this news! :)
I don't really know. I've been too busy for predictable 90 minute rom coms lately, and these airing during the middle of the Christmas Season, no idea if I'll have time (or be interested) in watching them. -Maria

DeleteI'll check these out.
Totally off the topic, but I was watching the Cubs/Padres game this afternoon, and when they were doing a fan-cam, the did a close-up on someone who looked just like Jessy Schram (and the camera stayed on her for awhile)! Maybe it was her, maybe not, but she is a Chicago girl, so I wouldn't be surprised! Did anyone else watch the game and see this?
ReplyDeleteMark, What a great catch!!!! (pun intended!)
DeleteI wouldn't be surprised if it were her, too! That's cool, if so!
I recall Ashley Newbrough & Rebecca Dalton sharing on social media when they attended a basketball game back in May, and they also made it on the big screen. It was either a Pacers or Fever game in Indianapolis. They were also at the Indy 500 track, which makes sense since Rebecca’s husband used to be a driver and now does commentary with them, but you probably already knew that being a sports fan. :)
By the way, for any Hearties still left on here, Edify Films announced recently that they are releasing a special WCTH box set containing the missing Abigail episodes from Season 6. -Maria
ReplyDeleteGrounded In Love had viewing figures of 109k.
ReplyDeleteAdventures In Love & Birding was watched by 1.058m =1m seems to be the new norm on Hallmark but how long this can even be maintained is questionable. - Florence
