His and Hers

Premieres: September 7, 2024

Starring: Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott

Storyline: Married couple Dana (Chabert) and Mark (Elliott) are high-powered lawyers at two separate New York City law firms. They soon find themselves on opposing sides of a messy divorce between two reality stars, Sammy and Brett. When both clients are unable to compromise, Dana and Mark are headed for a courtroom showdown that results in tensions infiltrating their otherwise happy household.

Movie Reviews:

🍁 His and Hers - As I expected, His and Hers is definitely the best Hallmark non Christmas movie I've seen this year! (hope you were also swooning at those hidden Hallmark related Easter Eggs!). –Maria

🍁 His and Hers Review…

They knew what we wanted and gave it to us!!! Dana and Mark were Brian and Jenny all over again!!

First let me say family friendly, funny and had those aww moments, especially the end, but I not spoil it for you!

This was a treat. When I found out they were going against each other I had my doubts, but the married characters Dana and Mark made it very clear that on this case they were a team. And they were!! And I really appreciated that they both encouraged their clients to stay married if possible.

There were a lot of former movie hints as well. We had the country house with goats in Connecticut scene(All of My Heart), Dana was previously married to a Will Kemp, and the Crossword Mystery hint they did with Dana solving a crossword puzzle, writing in the name Logan. Those could not be a coincidence. So much fun.

Lacey and Brennan have this incredible chemistry whenever they are in a movie together. I loved and really enjoyed watching them again!! ~Abigail

🍁 His and Hers - Abigail, I was going to write a long review for this movie, but you said everything I was going to say and then some! This is a real winner, with the usual great chemistry between Lacey and Brennan, and I got a great kick out of the references to their earlier movies together. So enjoyable from start to finish! ~Mark 25

🍁 His and Hers - Abigail, I decided to reply, to your posting, instead of just posting my review separately. Oh my gosh! I agree with you wholeheartedly! This movie was a treat! I don't understand why several reviews, on IMDB, were not kind. My husband and I really enjoyed 'His & Hers'. We got a kick out of all of the Easter eggs, sprinkled throughout. I chuckled when I saw Lacey's background check. I liked how Brennan said 'He loved her with All of my Heart'. Including Logan as a clue in the crossword puzzle, was priceless. The references to baby goats was cool. And, yes, the ending was so sweet! We too said 'aww' out loud. I thought Lacey and Brennan looked fantastic. Time has been good to both of them. And, I too, thought they had fantastic chemistry. They work as a married couple. Very believable. I have to admit, it has been awhile since I enjoyed two new movies in one weekend. :-) ~Joan

🍁 His & Hers –

My verdict is in!

I’m in total agreement with all of the previous reviewers who expressed how wonderful it was to see Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott together again and their natural, easy chemistry on screen.

Lacey and Brennan truly felt like a mature married couple; everything about their story as happily married lawyers, Dana and Mark, seemed plausibly real and authentic.

Since they are lawyers at different firms, they unexpectedly find themselves defending a reality star couple, Tabby and Brett, who are going through a public breakup and divorce. Both Tabby and Brett are both rather annoying and outlandish, but it’s obviously part of their character and celebrity persona.

Like others have mentioned, the little hints and nods Lacey and Brennan include in this story to their previous movies are all so cute and clever. Whoever decided to include those is very creative.

Overall, “His & Hers” is truly a delightful watch! That’s my judgment. ~Net

🍁 His & Hers - Completely agree! Loved it! (And I actually thought Brennan looked better in this movie than he has for awhile -- I'm not sure what it was but he looked maybe younger or healthier??) ~~Jane

The Heiress and the Handyman

Premieres: September 14, 2024

Starring: Jodie Sweetin and Corey Sevier

Storyline: After losing her fortune, an heiress moves to a rural farm where she mistakes her handsome neighbor for the handyman. To live up to her family's legacy, he helps her compete at the county fair.

Please note: The premiere date shown in the images above is the date "The Heiress and the Handyman" will first premiere on the streaming service, Hallmark Movies Now.

Movie Reviews:

🍁 The Heiress and the Handyman supposidly has a gay person in it. Just in case anyone was curious. -Maria

🍁 I watched The Heiress and the Handyman on HMN, the guy who plays Jodie Sweetin’s assistant does have mannerism of a gay man, but nothing is ever said about it. He appears twice for a total of about 3 minutes, at the beginning & end.

The movie is okay, but the story has been done. Think Harvest Moon, but this movie isn’t nearly as good. It felt cheesy somehow and Jodie’s acting felt stiff, kind of fake. It’s a one time watch for me. ~Allie B

🍁 Heiress & Handyman was really cute. It compares well with UPTV type of movies. The "gay" assistant...nothing was ever said clarifying he was gay. The movie needed more, but was worth a watch for the pig & animal scenes alone. It feels very traditional with hints of Harvest Moon, but not as comedic unfortunately. It's not a bad watch at all & is actually fall themed. I didn't even notice the wig people seem to be obsessing over. –Megan

Falling Together

Premieres: September 21, 2024

Starring: Ashley Williams and Paul Campbell

Storyline: Natalie (Williams) just relocated to Pittsburgh for work and is eager to become part of her new town. While exploring her surroundings, she comes across the perfect opportunity for involvement and joins the Walk to End Alzheimer's as a volunteer. Meanwhile, at home, her efforts to bring the building residents together as a community have fallen flat, and Mark (Campbell), the prickly super, advises her to leave well enough alone. As the two spend time together while Natalie continues her quest to win over her neighbors, she and Mark become close and a spark begins to grow. But just when it looks like building harmony has been restored, things unexpectedly unravel. Disheartened, Natalie focuses her time and energy on the Walk which just may be the path to healing and happily ever after.

Movie Reviews:

🍁 Review: Falling Together -
Family-friendly? - Yes! -
Recommend? Unfortunately, No -

This is tough and I will probably be in the minority here! The movie has a wonderful message: so much can be done for others if people were less self-centered and instead reached out to others. But a wonderful message does not automatically make a movie a good one.

I have two major problems with this movie. First, Ashley's character, in trying to meet her new neighbors, comes across as an annoying, obnoxious busy-body. I would think somebody with her maturity would know that you need to get to know the people first before you try to help them, but she jumps right in. It is no wonder they are put off by her. (I too would be hesitant to become friends at first with somebody who is that overbearing!) And Paul's character is just so self-centered and grumpy at first, well, these two just totally turned me off from the beginning. While they do come around a bit by the end, for me, it was too late.

And second, so much of the story seemed unrealistic. I think more character development with the neighbors would have helped, but instead we get some of the neighbors either disliking one or more other persons or wanting to be left alone, then we get them liking the other(s) or wanting to be involved, then once again they are disliking the person(s) or wanting not to be involved, and by the end (somehow - it is never shown) everyone is getting along and deciding to help with the Walk to End Alzheimer's. I just can't buy it. And one more thing - a lot of the spoken lines, along with these plot lines, just seemed phony.

So like I said, the movie has a great message - it is just a shame that it wasn't handled in a better way. -Mark25

🍁 Hello EveryoneπŸ€— My job is all consuming, my client is getting closer to the end of his JourneyπŸ˜ͺπŸ™

I loved Ashley & Paul in their Christmas movie.
But Alzheimer's is something I know all to well.
My Mom & I went through Every Horrible stage, thankfully my Mom wasn't aware of most of it, she didn't even know Who I was, but would talk about me with Me- that was tough😭

I walked away from my Career job to take care of both my parents, 24/7 for almost 18 years.
So after my Mom passed, the World did not Welcome me back, so my beautiful Church family said- "Honey why not be a Caregiver and Get Paid For It" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Ashley & Linda's Characters had me in constant tears most of the movie, but in a Cathartic way❤️
So for me, it hit home.

Its like the "Christmas Bow"
I love Michael RadyπŸ’ž but the lead females grandmother- in a flash back, little over an hour into the movie- with Music and the Incredible way it can Trigger a memory- I'm crying now just writing this down...
Those Moments are Priceless and Etched into my Memory(Hopefully Forever)

God Bless You All πŸ™πŸ™
Wherever you live in the Country, Be careful & safe. ~Kathy❤️Texas

The Real West

Premieres: September 28, 2024

Starring: Kimberley Sustad, Lucas Bryant and James Denton

Storyline: A family vacation to a working Ranch introduces Professor Rebecca to Jake West. Rebecca is a widower chasing tenure and Jake is a handsome cowboy who never settled down.

Movie Reviews:

🍁 The Real West was family friendly except for a statement made by Aaron(Denton) near the end of the movie. He is having a heart to heart talk with Jake(Lucas) about love and the decisions people make when he admits he once lived with a girl for about at year. Chances are young viewers will not even catch that, but just a word of caution.

As for the rest of the movie, I'm not quite sure how I feel about the story as a whole anyway. I don't want to say too much because of spoilers, but the whole concept to me is not good!

Kimberly does an excellent job acting her part. Lucas was ok. Kimberly has a very touching scene with her boys near the end of the movie about their dad that's very moving. ~Joyce in Carolina

🍁 I saw it. I would say it is NOT family friendly. There is a lot of talk about ghost hunting and then letting teenage boyfriend/girlfriend stay in the same cabin together. It was a disappointing movie with only a few funny moments. ~Anonymous

🍁 The Real West was, for me, really disappointing. I agree with Joyce; I also did not care for the concept of the story.

SPOILER: Lucas Bryant’s character, Jake, immediately begins flirting with Rebecca (Kimberley Sustad) when they meet, even though he is already dating (unbeknownst to him) Rebecca’s sister, Cassidy. Although I usually like Lucas Bryant, I had a hard time warming up to his character after this. END OF SPOILER

I was also not a fan of all of the ghost talk from the little boy; although, there was a somewhat sweet, but misguided reason for it in the end.

Based on what anonymous said above about the sleeping arrangements, I made sure to listen carefully when this was mentioned. Thankfully, the dating teenagers, Jasmine and Noah, did not stay in the same cabin. Jasmine stayed in the room with Cassidy, Noah’s aunt.

Overall, I liked the western theme and the country line dancing squeezed in at the end was fun, but this movie is not a keeper for me. ~Net

Autumn at Apple Hill

*Based on the book by Angie Ellington

Premieres: October 5, 2024

Starring: Erin Cahill and Wes Brown

Storyline: Recently divorced Elise returns to Landover, Maine to manage her grandmother's B&B. She faces a new challenge with a handsome guest, Luke, who wants to open a bistro in town.

Movie Reviews:

🍁 I loved “Autumn at Apple Hill”! The aerial shots were beautiful, the buildings, the strolls they took through town, I loved it all. I think Erin and Wes were great, as well as the supporting actors. I agree with the other commenter, this would be such a good movie to have a part 2 😊 ~Paula

🍁 Oh my gosh, we LOVED 'Autumn at Apple Hill' so much! It was sweet, funny, touching and so enjoyable. Erin and Wes were fantastic together! And, every single one of the supporting actors brought so much to the storyline. In particular, Wes's mother and Erin's co-worker were are favorites. My husband and I had the biggest smiles, on our faces, at the end of the movie. It was that good! Kudos all around. ~Joan

🍁 Autumn at Apple Hill is clean and sooo charming! Felt good to actually look forward to a new Erin Cahill movie for the first time since... 2020, maybe? –Maria

🍁 Autumn at Apple Hill was a delight!!! It was heartwarming and had the perfect blend of pumpkin spice, sweet characters, and humor. Wes and Erin were wonderful together. I can see them making this into a trilogy. I was kind concerned when Halloween was brought up, but they kept it light and it was focused on the family and really sweet. Plus it was family friendly!!

The only problem was I did not have an apple cider and a pumpkin scone while watching it. Hahahaha ;) ~Abigail

Haunted Wedding

Premieres: October 12, 2024

Starring: Janel Parrish, Dominic Sherwood, Cassandra Potenza

Storyline: Amateur ghost hunters Jane (Parrish) and Brian (Sherwood) are looking forward to their upcoming wedding at a famously haunted inn, until their plans are disrupted by unexpected polter-guest Angelique (Potenza)– a ghost in an 18th century wedding dress, who mistakes Brian for her long dead fiancΓ©.

Hallmark Mystery premieres at 9pm/8c.

The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is Listening

Premieres: Premieres: September 13, 2024

Starring: Aimee Garcia and Paul Campbell

Storyline: As Birdie and Alden Case's relationship strengthens, they discover a mutual interest for True Crime. But when their favorite podcaster is found dead, it is up to The Cases to listen to the clues.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ”Ž My hubby and I enjoyed 'The Cases of Mystery Lane: Death is listening'. Yes, it can be campy and Paul is a bit over the top at times. But, I like him and Aimee as so cute together. Adorable! They mystery was good. I am not used to Samantha playing against type. And, the end was very surprising! Hope to see where that curveball leads. ~Joan

πŸ”Ž I watched “The Cases of Mystery Lane” and it was okay. I was able to guess the killer pretty early on, and I enjoyed seeing some familiar faces in this movie. Like I mentioned before, Alden and Birdie don’t really have much chemistry, they seemed more like old college friends to me than husband and wife. I think it would have been better to have them be just that, and show them fall in love over time, because they have no chemistry and them being a married couple just wasn’t believable for me. I did appreciate that she finally came clean about her poker playing. One thing I did like about the movie was that they now are private investigators so they were asked by the police to help, so they weren’t just being annoying/pushy and interfering with a police investigation. And I’m not sure if there are any in the process of being made, but there was a little cliffhanger at the end setting up for another movie. All in all, not my favorite series but not the worst. ~Paula

A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swensen Mystery

Premieres: October 4, 2024

Starring: Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster, Barbara Niven, Tess Atkins, and Lisa Durupt

Storyline: Hannah (Sweeney) caters Lonnie’s (Daylin Willis, Betty’s Bad Luck in Love) high school reunion, which is disrupted by a fight between his old friend Darcy (Brittany Mitchell, CrimeTime: Freefall) and her boyfriend. Lonnie makes sure she gets home from the reunion safely, but the next morning she is found dead and Lonnie is implicated in her murder. As Hannah works with Chad (Webster) to prove his innocence, she finds herself in the crosshairs of Darcy’s killer. Meanwhile, Delores (Niven) finds herself unexpectedly whisked into the world of acting while also working the case in the way only she can.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ”Ž We watched the newest 'Hannah Swensen' movie last night. It was just okay. I figured out the killer fairly early on. I don't feel Victor and Alison have chemistry. I missed Norman. And, I really dislike Barbara Nevin's character. Her over the top acting borders on campy. I liked her so much better in the 'Murder She Baked' series. I will get caught up on the other new movies over the next few days. ~Joan

πŸ”Ž The town looked like Eden Lake and cast dressed as if in a colder climate. The acting seemed forced and not polished as in Teagarden. And really another murder, solving group. Been there. Thought the format would be fresh and different. I guess this formula works for ratings. Disappointed. Teagarden is much better. ~Rosebud

πŸ”Ž Hannah Swensen Mystery: A Sprinkle of Deceit review…

This one was ok. Family friendly. I solved the mystery pretty fast. I agree with Joan. I miss Norman who was a cheerful gentleman who was always an encouragement and a helping hand to Hannah. I’m not a fan of Chad with Hannah, if I’m honest.. he kinda bores me. Sorry for being a negative Nancy, here’s the positive side. I thought this was Michelle’s best film and I enjoyed seeing the sheriff supporting Hannah being helpful. And I was glad to see more of Andrea.

I really miss the old Murder She Baked films though. They were always cheerful, started with that happy music and her mom was more in the background. ~Abigail

πŸ”Ž Oh Abigail I so agree with your Hannah Swensen Mystery: A Sprinkle of Deceit review. I couldn't even make it through the whole movie! Had to turn it. I just couldn't take how silly they have let Deloris' character become. I have had a really hard time with this series anyway. It's just not the same. Like you, I miss even the happy music and seeing more of Hannah like in The Murder She Baked series. Miss Mike too! No chemistry between Alison and Victor. ~Joyce in Carolina

πŸ”Ž Hi everyone! So I finally was able to watch the new Hannah Swenson mystery and I agree with Abigail and Joyce, no chemistry between Allison and Victor. I may have missed it, but do we know why Mike and Norman were taken off the series? She had chemistry with both of them so, such natural chemistry with Norman. And I agree, Dolores’ character was funny in the beginning movies but now it’s just too much. But I will still support because it is family friendly, even if it’s not as “cozy” as I remember. ~Paula

Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit

Premieres: October 11, 2024

Starring: Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker

Storyline: Goldy Berry caters a VIP concert and goes on a date with Tom.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ”Ž Curious Caterer: Forbidden Fruit was an enjoyable mystery, at least until the end. Andrew and Nikki were great together, as these two always are. I enjoyed the mystery, which unlike others is not an easy one to solve, until the resolution, which I thought was rushed and got a little silly (like the singing?!). Anyway, it is a worthwhile watch, even if it's just to watch these two pros in action together. ~Mark25

πŸ”Ž The Curious Caterer Mystery: Forbidden Fruit Review

As usual, this series what again great! What a fantastic cast! Tom and Goldie are so great together. I don’t want to give too much away but it was family friendly and a lot of fun. The whole done it part was pretty good too!

I did love that scene when the young detective Mason is trying to give Tom dating advice. So funny! And Tom and his obliviousness about Goldie’s hair is so funny as well!

Another 5 stars!!! ~Abigail

  1. His and Hers is at this moment a must watch for me (because I adore those 2 so much when they work together!), the other 2? I'll consider, but given that both have woke actors whose recent movies included woke content, I'm considering waiting until I know for sure they are clean. (and that last one? Is the book itself clean?). -Maria

    3. After Jodie Sweetin defended the opening Olympics Ceremony. I would never watch anything with her in it again. I don't watch Hallmark anymore because they always slip in a woke message.

    4. I Won't be watching Jodie Sweetin's movie either for the same reason Ken. I'll try His and Hers.

    5. Jodie’s plot sounds good, but not interested because since she’s so liberal in supporting LGTBQ issues.

I want to watch Erin Cahill’s movie. I love her and Wes Brown.

As for the mysteries.. no for anything staring Paul Campbell(the Ashley Williams too), I’ll probably watch the Hannah Swensen, though I’m not happy in the direction it’s going.

I am excited to see Lacey and Elliot together again. This is my all time favorite pair! I always think of them as Jenny and Brian. Hahaha πŸ₯°

  2. This year seems to have flown by, and I can't believe that this is our last movie drop before Countdown to Christmas!

    1. thank you Christina! There was a misprint in the first article that came out. It is the same title as the book, Autumn at Apple Hill. So glad, as that one word difference made it harder for me to promote the book and the movie with different hashtags. LOL. I hope you enjoy it! It has fall feels abound. There are differences of course, but both should be relaxing fun.

    3. Angie, Thank you so much for making me aware of this error from the original article; I have corrected the title above. I'm glad Hallmark kept the same title for you from your book. I'm sure that makes it a whole lot easier.

I also noticed in the second announcement from Parade, that they misspelled Hannah Swensen. In their article, which may be fixed now, it is spelled "A Sprinkle of Deceit: A Hannah Swemson Mystery."

Those things happen to us all, but I'm glad to get this fixed for you! :)

    1. the wording wasn't the best choice. It will be comedic. I believe it was due to the soaring live viewership last Oct of 3 Bed, 2 Bath, 1 Ghost. This is for the Halloween fans I think. I know some won't watch Halloween, but as long as it's done in a fun way & not a sci-fi way like a horror flick, I'm definitely watching. I'm most excited for Autumn at Apple Hill. It gives me a classic Hallmark vibe with two great actors. I love Wes Brown especially! -Megan

Kimberley Sustad and Luca Bryant is a great pairing but I don't understand what this means:

"Rebecca is a widower chasing tenure and Jake is a handsome cowboy who never settled down."

Is Rebecca a widow or is this some sort of job description?

I am going to be furious if Lucas Bryant is yet again involved in a movie where one of the leads has been previously married.

I think since Tulips In Spring there's only been one movie where he wasn't - it's just not fair. - Florence

Falling Together, The Real West and Autumn on Apple Hill all sound great to me. I am so surprised that of all the new mystery movies, they chose to make a second one of Cases of Mystery Lane. I felt the couple had no chemistry together and I just feel there were so many other mysteries they could have continued with, like Cut Color Murder or Dancing Detective or Nikki & Nora. I’m appreciate them continuing Murder She Baked though, so I’ll be tuning j to that.

  12. Based on the 2 previews I've seen (and observing how closely 2 men are to each other), I'm completely expecting Falling Together to be dirty. Just in case I'm (unfortunately) right, here's my early review:

I find it completely disgusting and immoral to promote gays in a movie that is only supposed to be promoting an important cause, and both actors should be ashamed of themselves for allowing immortality in what is supposed to be an inspiring movie for everyone and their families to see! -Maria

  14. His & Hers –

~Net

    2. Jane, Glad you loved "His & Hers," too! I also thought Brennan Elliott looked fantastic in his new movie!

However, did you know he was dealing with a health issue during filming? Brennan shared in a podcast with Suspenders Unbuttoned that he was actually suffering from kidney stones for two of the three weeks that they were filming. His doctors advised him to rest, but basically he said he had this movie with Hallmark to do - and he did it! Brennan said he was in a lot of pain, but the show must go on, I guess! Poor guy. (There's an article on it on Yahoo, here:

But I totally agree with you, Jane, that he looked great. I really think it's because he was paired with Lacey again. You could just tell there was something different about their chemistry on screen; it seemed easy and natural.

    1. Yessss!!! That was great news!

I thought the one title was kinda cute, "A PIE TO DIE FOR: A HANNAH SWENSEN MYSTERY," but the other one I thought was rather creepy, "COOKED TO DEATH: A HANNAH SWENSEN MYSTERY."

I really hope that second title I mentioned is changed before it premieres.

  16. Movie Review -

"The Real West" was, for me, really disappointing. I agree with Joyce; I also did not care for the concept of the story.

    SPOILER
Lucas Bryant’s character, Jake, immediately begins flirting with Rebecca (Kimberley Sustad) when they meet, even though he is already dating (unbeknownst to him) Rebecca’s sister, Cassidy. Although I usually like Lucas Bryant, I had a hard time warming up to his character after this.
    END OF SPOILER

I was also not a fan of all of the ghost talk from the little boy; although, there was a somewhat sweet, but misguided reason for it in the end.

Based on what anonymous said about the sleeping arrangements, I made sure to listen carefully when this was mentioned.

~Net

  17. There is really no suitable thread to post the following in.

Casting Director Penny Perry 79, is suing Hallmark Media for alleged age discrimination.

Here's a link to an article in Variety on this.
