Move Review:
π My Perfect Romance / Romance with a Twist - This past weekend's movie's were not my cup of tea. I tried watching both the Hallmark and the UP-TV movie but neither one held my interest. I watched most of the Hallmark movie but I only got through about fifteen minutes of the UP-TV movie. Holding out hope next week's movies are better. ~Joan
UPDATE: The schedule below is now confirmed for February, 2024...
Baked with a Kiss — Premieres Sunday, February 4 at 7 p.m ET
Peyton Hilliard's pastry shop, Peyton's Pastries, has a reputation for making dreams come true. With names like Best Day Ever, Big Promotion, and Bun in the Oven, her desserts often deliver on what they promise. Folks say if you go to Peyton's shop and tell her your problems or your dreams, she always has the best advice and the perfect treat to make things right. Archer Brooks is one of Peyton's most difficult clients, but she can't afford to offend him, because he runs one of the largest event planning companies in town. To try and get on his good side, Peyton gives him a pie she tells him she baked "just for him." This one is called Sweet Success, but in the craziness of the moment, Peyton accidentally gives Archer her special, souped up True Love pie instead. Peyton is totally confused when a very different Archer walks through her bakery door the next day. He's so kind and complimentary. It's only when Archer asks for another slice of her delicious honey lavender pie that Peyton realizes her mistake. Meanwhile, Peyton has been vying, along with several other bakeries in town, to provide pastries for the Starlight Ball, a massive gala attended by the city's elite. Archer is on the planning committee and tells Peyton that she's pretty much in for the gig. This is exactly what Peyton hoped for, but she can't help but wonder if this great opportunity and her newfound relationship with Archer will succeed.
Stars: Ansley Gordon, Jonathan Stoddard
Movie Review:
❤️ Baked with a Kiss – (UP sent me a screener for this, and like a good dessert, I couldn’t resist!) Baked with a Kiss is sooo sweet! Literally! Peyton Hilliard (played by Ansley Gordon) owns a bakery, and she bakes everything from the heart, adding in a little extra love like her grandmother taught her. Her sweets and baked goods are even known, like her grandmother’s, to have a little magic in them, which makes Peyton wonder if Archer Brooks (played by Jonathan Goddard) is truly falling for her or if her grandmother’s special *true love pie* made him attracted to her. I don’t think the magic part is real, but it’s just something fun that people believe in.
This movie is very family-friendly and wholesome! I loved Peyton’s lovely pastel tops, headbands, and floral aprons; her personality was also beaming, as she was always bright and cheerful. Her co-worker, Riley, is always so helpful and encouraging, and she’s a bit mysterious. Another great touch was how nice and supportive Peyton's parents are, too.
This movie is a delightful romantic-comedy for a girl’s gathering on Galentine’s Day, for couples on Valentine’s Day, or anyone – on any day!!! This is the sort of movie that leaves you with a smile on your face and hungry for a sweet treat! Baked with a Kiss is sugar and spice and everything nice! ~Net
❤️ My husband and I watched 'Baked with a Kiss' last night and oh my gosh it was the sweetest movie! It was a great recommendation, from you. I enjoy movies that are filmed in the actual location where they are set. Always a nice touch. And, Ansley was just so adorable as Peyton. Her deep friendship, with her co-worker, was endearing. All in all, a very nice movie. I would definitely watch it again! Thanks again for the recommendation. ~Joan
❤️ Baked with a Kiss is so delightful! –Maria
❤️ UPtv’s “Baked with a Kiss” is my kind of rom-com – lighthearted, entertaining, funny, and inspiring. I’m quickly becoming a big fan of Ansley Gordon too - she’s adorable in this movie. ~MPT
Love by Design — Premieres Sunday, February 11 at 7 p.m ET
Broken-hearted, out-of-work Brooke Yeardley makes her 30th birthday wish on the vision board she made as a hopeful teen. Miraculously her wishes start coming true - from launching her own design business to meeting the man on her vision board - but while life has a way of working out, Brooke learns that it doesn't always work out the way that you expect.
Stars: Jackie Moore, Joey Lawrence
Movie Reviews:
❤️ Nicely's Love by Design has it's charming moments, with 2 cons: Female lead is living with her ex boyfriend at the start of the movie, and there is 1 uttering of the H word midway through the movie. Other then those, it's a slightly clean movie. (streaming on PlutoTV). –Maria
❤️ Well, my husband and I attempted to watch the other two movies (Love & Jane and Love by Design) and ended up deleting both after not finishing either one. I was very disappointed in 'Love & Jane'. I normally like Alison but oh my she was awful! Plus, when I saw what Abigail said, playing out in the movie, I told my husband to delete the movie. And, I wanted to like the other movie (Love by Design) but the lead actress was terrible. Simply terrible! Oh well, at least we had "Passport to Love" which was a gem! ~Joan
Romance in Hawaii — Premieres Sunday, February 18 at 7 p.m ET
Leah, a successful but dissatisfied executive, discovers the missing passion from her life when she starts taking hula dance lessons from handsome local Ikaika.
Stars: Kelley Jackle, Cedric Jonathan
Movie Reviews:
❤️ Romance in Hawaii is so beautiful! -Maria
❤️ UPtvs “Romance in Hawaii” is family-friendly and entertaining. Kelley Jakle is charming in her role as a real estate developer on assignment in Hawaii, who finds romance after being captivated by and learning hula dancing. She even sings a duet with her love interest played by Cedric Jonathan. Beautiful Hawaiian scenery and a fun story made this one a keeper. Aloha! ~MPT
❤️ Romance in Hawaii was so cute. The scenery was wonderful as was the music and dancing which was very heartfelt and moving. My husband cried! Decent chemistry between the leads. ~Joan
The Soulmate Search — Premieres Sunday, February 25 at 7 p.m ET

Please share your thoughts on the movies above, and if you've seen one (or more!), I would love to hear your review, too.
Yay, my favorite my favorite TV Show: Hudson & Rex
ReplyDeleteIt’s available on UPFF
I watched Hudson & Rex on YouTube
Hudson & Rex is Canadian TV Show
Rex had female partner who was shot by a guy so Charlie Hudson will take Rex with him
Can confirm Love by Design is a clean movie. :)
ReplyDeleteMan, this is a lot of Reel One and Nicely goodness! I might try to watch a few of these early, if I can. -Maria
I did also watch and review Love on the Ranch last year. I don't remember where on this site I left the review, but it was definitely a cute movie. :) -Maria
ReplyDeleteGreat to see them continuing with the Sunday night movies but I've already seen all of them except The Soulmate Search.
ReplyDeleteGood on them for getting the schedule out early - Florence
What movies are you looking forward seeing in this column?
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Hudson and Rex, love this series. I love Jonathan Stoddard so I'm happy to see him in not only one movie but two. All sound pretty good to me...a few more than others but still good.
ReplyDeleteAre those new episodes of Hudson & Rex or the old ones?
ReplyDeleteThe main couples in Love map and The soulmate match seem sympathetic but i really don't like movies with dating apps/dating sites/dating services plots. And is it just me or all these movies really look low budget? I really don't want to waste my time on another Dream Wedding.
Net, since you've already seen For the love of Chocolate, can i ask you something? I don't understand one thing in the synopsis. Is the Jesse's character also a baker?
Hello! From what I understand, they are beginning the Hudson & Rex series on UPtv with Season 5. I was rather surprised by this, as someone who has not seen the previous 4 seasons. I'm not sure why they would start that far in.
DeleteAs for the movies... yeah, sometimes they can be hit or miss, especially with actors we don't quite recognize.
Also, regarding your last question, I've been trying to think back to "For the Love of Chocolate," and I'm not remembering Jesse's profession. I'm thinking he must've had some sort of baking expertise. I'm sorry; I've watched too many movies since then to remember that detail. Anyway, I do recall that it is family-friendly minus the caution on the sister contemplating the idea of moving away to the city and moving in with her boyfriend. There's also a long trailer on YT, if that helps. (See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rxd_q1eas68)
Merry Christmas! Net
It looks like UPtv is not doing "Love at the Ranch" on Jan. 7. When I went to go and tape it on my Frndly TV, it is showing "Romantic Friction" instead. The website also confirms that.
ReplyDeleteI think this schedule has been changed a bit. According to my TV Guide, The next 2 Sundays at 7 don't show the 1st 2 movies listed here. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria & Anonymous (above), I heard from my contact at UPtv just before Christmas that they would be having a programming change for January. I will have an update on that schedule very soon.
DeleteBy the way, I'm seeing a review for "Romantic Friction" that mentions there is a gay roommate.
Stay tuned for the complete schedule update!
Blessings! Net
Thank you. -Maria
DeleteUPDATE: I updated the UPtv schedule above with the January movies. Unfortunately, the previous movies announced are no longer showing up in their schedule for now.
DeletePlease know, I'm also hearing there will be changes to the February schedule. I left the previously announced movies above, but please stay tuned for these changes/updates.
Blessings to all! Net
What a complete waste of time - a totally different line-up although I actually prefer the newer one - Florence
ReplyDeleteTwo of the movies now scheduled for January are from Reel One previously unaired on US TV so I'm hoping that perhaps UP has purchased a batch - Florence
ReplyDeleteFlorence, I was really surprised they completely replaced the aforementioned lineup. I'm hoping some of the movies previously announced for January will eventually make their way to UPtv, but I guess we'll see.
DeleteI'm also hearing February will have changes, so I guess we better not get our hearts set on any of the movies currently above - for that month.
Happy New Year! Net
Net, is the February line-up still open to change?
ReplyDeleteThe above line-up was confirmed on anther source yesterday but maybe they were not aware of the situation - Florence
Florence - I have heard back from UPtv, and the schedule is now confirmed for February - as shown above.

*Romance in Hawaii — Premieres Sunday, February 18 at 7 p.m ET
*The Soulmate Search — Premieres Sunday, February 25 at 7 p.m ET
Happy watching! Net
Thanks for the update, Net.
ReplyDeleteThe first three have been aired previously in the US.
From what I remember they are family friendly.
I love Jonathan Stoddard and have been looking forward to The Soulmate Search for some time but I've read one review and the trailer is indistinct and hard to follow and it may be that he is a single father which will ruin it for me - Florence
Florence, I recently watched the trailer for The Soulmate Search and from what I obtained from it, the lead guy first says he is the uncle to a young boy, but later on, it is revealed that he is actually the boy's father. I'm not sure why the need for the secrecy, but yeah, it does appear from the promo (the long one from Reel One) that he is a single father. ~Net

ReplyDeleteTwo Reel One Entertainment movies The Wedding Rule (with Dennis Andres) and May The Best Wedding Win have been added to UPtv Faith and Family Streaming.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping these may eventually find their way to the main channel.
Streaming is starting to become a problem - certainly there are a number of free channels but there just so many different channels out there now that it is impossible to be able to be a member of them all and it's tough if a movie you want to see goes to one you have to pay for - Florence
Florence, I agree. The streaming options seem endless, overwhelming, and if we have to pay for them, it can definitely get pricey. Every few little dollars here and there can really add up.
DeleteBy the way, I just watched the trailers for the two movies you mentioned, and both look really cute, especially "The Wedding Rule." It would be great if UPtv obtained both wedding-themed movies for June! :)
Blessings! Net
