Warming Up to You
Movie Reviews:
πΉ "Watched Warming Up to You. It's family friendly and really cute. Cindy and Chris are great together, once again." ~Allie B
πΉ "Warming Up to You is a light-hearted and fun family-friendly comedy/romance. Christopher Russell and Cindy Busby have been in many movies together and have good chemistry. I enjoyed watching this movie with my 13-year old daughter." ~Anonymous
πΉ "Warming Up to You is sweet and fun and made me actually laugh-out-loud a time or two! Enjoyed seeing Cindy Busby and Christopher Russell together again. Cindy portrays Kate Wolfe, a fitness instructor and Christopher plays Rick Steele, an actor who has let himself go physically. It's obvious (as others said above) they have an easy-going chemistry together. Also, it's a great movie for encouraging exercise and a healthy diet. Christopher's fake big stomach is rather funny looking, at times, but it added to the comedy aspect. Was fun to watch Minnie (an older woman) join Rick and Kate with their workouts. Cindy's workout wear was your typical tight spandex; they could've been cute, but I thought the colors chosen for her were rather drab. I did, however, like Cindy's pretty pink dress near the end of the movie (seen in the poster above). Overall, Warming Up to You is a delightful watch and family-friendly!" ~Net

Road Trip Romance
Movie Reviews:
πΉ "Sad to say it had its sprinkling of wokeness. I guess anything from now on from Hallmark will have its interjection of things that don’t really add anything to the story. Longing for story’s that aren’t cookie cutter themes with predictable endings." ~JoCo
πΉ "What did you think of Road Trip Romance? I thought that Road Trip Romance was terrible." ~Chris
πΉ "I'm sure somebody enjoyed "Road Trip Romance," but it wasn't me. In fact, it was one of my least favorite Hallmark movies ever. The part where the couple is in the small quirky town with the Renaissance Festival was just bizarre. But, it was family friendly. ~Amy G.
πΉ "Road Trip Romance.... I truly enjoyed this film. It was so sweet and funny. Loved the Renaissance Fair and all the kind people. All of it was great, especially loved the kindness and forgiveness she shows to Della. And it was 100% friendly!! And so much chemistry between the too! I thought the actress who played Della looked a lot like Alexa PenaVega if you ignore the curly hair and I thought the actress who plays the bride looked a lot like Julie Gonzalo. Almost like they could be sisters! Another thing I thought was funny... during the Renaissance, no one was using electricity, but the women obviously used curling irons. ;)" ~Abigail
πΉ "I agree with someone who wrote that Road to Romance was terrible. One of the worst HM movies I've seen. The female lead was not anything as good an actress as most HM channel has as their lead." ~Anonymous

Heart of the Matter
Movie Review:
❤"Heart of the Matter is, probably the most emotional HMM movie I've ever seen! And it's also clean. So, if you're interested, might be best to have some tissues handy." –Maria
❤"Heart of the Matter: Family friendly, but what a heavy topic! A doctor loses her patient because of negligence on her part, and she suffers emotionally for it. Plus, the patient's mother is angry and sues the doctor. Aimee Teegarden has been great in other movies, but they don't hold a candle to her performance in this one! The emotions and the suffering she shows...you can't help but suffer along with her! I recommend watching it if you are in the mood for a very serious, non-light-hearted movie, and as Maria said, you may want to have some tissues handy." ~Mark 25
❤"I thought that Heart of the Matter was a great film." ~Chris
❤"I started to watch Heart of the Matter. Got 20 minutes into it, but had to stop watching because it was so sad. I really like the special needs young man. I was glad to hear this film is family friendly. I just couldn’t watch anymore. Did she get married in the end?? And Maria... you are so right. Her acting was terrific, and I only saw a little bit. It did make me grateful that my Dad got there in time during his heart attack last fall (he is doing really well, BTW. Thank you for all the prayers. God is so good!" ~Abigail
❤"At last, a movie with heart. Could be relatable to anyone that has faced loss." ~JoCo
❤"Heart of the Matter was a very intense movie, great acting all around. But, for some reason I just couldn't get into it. I watched the whole movie, but almost turned it after about 20 minutes. It's not one I will watch again!" ~Joyce in Carolina
Yellowstone Romance
Movie Reviews:
πΌ“Overall, as far as this ranch movie goes… I’m on the skip it side of the fence due to the friend's bedroom sharing (2 girls and a guy) and outlandish behavior. The three friends, Olivia, Amber and Justin, acted over-the-top and rather silly, at times, which I personally didn’t love. I did like Christopher Russell as the cowboy, actor Bruce Dawson (Nantucket Noel, Aurora Teagarden), as his father, and the country setting was gorgeous, along with the beautiful horses. Plus, the romance that develops between Olivia and Travis is rather sweet, but that wasn't enough to save it for me. Perhaps, Yellowstone Romance will rope you in, but this was not a keeper for me." ~Net
πΌ"Net, thanks first for your great review of Yellowstone Romance. I watched but was well prepared thanks to you. The three friends, I agree, totally inappropriate the guy friend staying in the SAME room!!!!! Not needed. And the shower was ridiculous! You could see right through the boards. If they are literally supposed to be a ranch getaway then I don't think that would pass inspection. Anyway, I liked Christopher Russell too, but the 3 friends were like immature teenagers the whole trip. Could've been great otherwise." ~Allie B
πΌ"Yellowstone Romance...I turned it off because of the obvious "gay" man sharing a room with the girls. I really like Christopher Russell acting...so it wasn't easy turning it off, but I felt (for me) it was the right thing to do." ~Anonymous
πΌ"Really enjoyed Yellowstone Romance!" -Maria
The Nature of Romance
Movie Reviews:
πΌ"The Nature Of Romance is a solid and pleasant Rom.Com - nothing ground-breaking but definitely family friendly with a good performance from Brant Daugherty and I think most here should enjoy it" - Florence
πΌ“The Nature Of Romance could not hold my interest. As much as I love watching Brant Daugherty, this movie had something missing. I was so disappointed.” ~kitkat
πΌ"The only other one I saw was The Nature of Romance. I lost interest in it partway through, but I did watch to the end." ~dstoutholcomb

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Road Trip Romance yet but the majority of the reviews here and elsewhere are very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteI generally like Natalie Hall and Cory Sevier so I wonder what I will make of it? - Florence
Net, a couple of questions:
ReplyDelete1. Can we access the 2020 and 2021 Christmas movie reviews from one of your tabs on top? I've tried in the past, but didn't have any luck.
2. I hate to ask, because I know it is a lot of work, but is there any chance you could have an alphabetical listing of the 2021 Christmas movies, similar to what you did for the 2020 movies, when you click on the tab? It really helps in finding a particular movie review.
As always, thanks for EVERYTHING that you do to help us determine which movies to watch!
Mark 25,
Delete1. Yes! I updated the *Movie Reviews* post and added links there for the Christmas Movies and the TV Movie List. hope that helps! I've been meaning to update that for awhile now.
2. Oh goodness, I'll try. I recall that took some time to do. If I have a free afternoon, I'll may attempt it... sometime.

ReplyDeleteAnonymous, I understand and I appreciate you sharing that with us. I thought about switching it off, too, but I wanted to fully review it. I shared your review above.

ReplyDeleteWell... we all like different movies. I've always enjoyed Natalie Hall in the past, but I did think Fit for a Prince was rather cheesy, but still cute.
DeleteI enjoyed Warming Up to You and Road Trip Romance. The only other one I saw was The Nature of Romance. I lost interest in it partway through, but I did watch to the end.
ReplyDeletedstoutholcomb, Thank you for sharing your take on these multiple movies! I posted your reviews above.
DeleteEspecially good to hear you enjoyed Road Trip Romance, since it has been receiving mixed reviews.
Heart of the Matter was a very intense movie, great acting all around. But, for some reason I just couldn't get into it. I watched the whole movie, but almost turned it after about 20 minutes. It's not one I will watch again!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, I am so glad you shared that review, especially since I know you usually like the dramas, like One Summer. Many have shared it was much darker than they had anticipated. Guess Hallmark can see (based on poor ratings) that this movie genre isn't what a majority of people want to see.
DeleteSo glad you shared your thoughts - thank you! :)
I posted your review above and to the main Heart of the Matter page here:

Heart of the Matter is tearjerker. Andrea “Andie” Hodges lost her patient; Henry Larkins in accident because his disability couldn’t drive. Henry could call his Mom; Gladys to drive him to the hospital or calls emergency number. Henry could be with his Mom or not himself.
