πHallmark announced on their Facebook page today:
"The romance of the holiday season will return to our hearts and homes in no time at all! It’s 200 days until Hallmark Channel's Countdown To Christmas, and Miracles of Christmas on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!"
According to my Google search, 200 days from today (April 4, 2022) will be Friday, October 21st, 2022!
So... Hallmark (unless there are last minute schedule changes) will be starting their Christmas movies around the same time as last year. In 2021, they began the Countdown on October 22nd; therefore, they will just be starting one day sooner this year.
I included in my images above, some of the actors and actresses I believe we will see on Hallmark again this Christmas: Candace Cameron Bure, Lacey Chabert, Brennan Elliott, Holly Robinson Peete, Andrew Walker, Aimee Teegarden, Taylor Cole, Kristoffer Polaha, and Laura Osnes!
Even though we are still currently enjoying the early stages of Spring, I thought this was fun news to share! I don't want to rush or wish any time away, but it's always delightful to anticipate what each new Christmas season will bring.

I enjoy thinking about terrific Christmas and Holiday movies! I'd love to see another couple of Hannukah movies! Thank you for keeping us all informed. Have a Blessed Day! Matt
ReplyDeleteMatt, So glad to hear this Christmas movie post brought you joy! Blessings to you, too! :)
DeleteWill the Christmas movie that was filmed in Troy NY be part of the Countdown to Christmas which begins on October 22?
ReplyDeleteChris, Yes! Hallmark has announced "A Holiday Spectacular" will be airing during their 2022 Countdown to Christmas programming.

Good news!
ReplyDeleteSounds nice, but after last year, I'm more interested in what GAC Family and UP TV have planned for Christmas now then Hallmark. -Maria
ReplyDeleteChristmas on July will be here soon too. Can't wait for that and the new Dream Book.
ReplyDeleteHave an outfit picked out already.
ReplyDeleteDid Hallmark announce Christmas in July at all? Someone posted on a Facebook group that it was confirmed and the dates, but I haven't seen anything official.
ReplyDeleteVaBelle1964,
DeleteI haven't personally heard any news, yet; but I wouldn't be surprised if someone saw something somewhere (probably a response on social media) and shared news on Facebook. Otherwise, I think we'll probably hear something official from Hallmark on Christmas in July in May.
We're just coming up the home straight with finishing last year's Christmas movies.
ReplyDeleteReally don't know what to do about this year - there are far too many now, it's so difficult to pick and choose.
Lifetime in general I find mediocre but a couple which I could easily have decided not to watch turned out to be great and will make my top 10 Christmas 2021 list.
ION were probably the worst, GAC made a reasonably good start and should have their act together for this year but Hallmark were still the best.
I would hope they will get better roles for Candace and Lacey this year.
Candace's last 2 Christmas movies were particularly disappointing and after her outstanding outings in 2020 with Time For Us To Come Home For Christmas and Christmas Waltz Lacey bombed in 2021.
With her looking younger than her age and her leading man looking older than his 50 they were like father and daughter.
Hallmark really need to keep using a bit younger male stars - Tyler Hynes and Andrew Walker probably have another 5 years or so but Brennan Elliott is nearly 50 now - although Alison Sweeney did her best Open By Christmas was pretty dull and in fact the secondary story line with Erica Durance was much better.
UPtv had a very mixed bag in 2021
It will be interesting to see if stars who have appeared in GAC movies will feature again at Hallmark - Florence
Florence, Loved reading your thoughts on the 2021 Christmas season! I'm just about nearing my completion of the Christmas movies from last year, too! I never dreamed I would still be watching new ones in April!
DeleteI very much agree with how you summed up the various networks. GAC Family was very strong out of the gate, and I can't wait to see how they do this year! :)
Hallmark Christmas movies were a Godsend for me when I was released from the hospital on October 4th last year. I was in for 35 days and when I came home, all I could do was watch TV. Frankly everything was either too dark or disturbing for me and I struggled to find something I could watch. I had my fill of cooking and home improvement shows in the hospital so when Countdown to Christmas began it was heaven. It was on all the time and my wife who loves Christmas thought it was a bit too early to watch these movies but I loved each and every one as long as it was family friendly.
ReplyDeleteNow I’m trying to figure out how I can work from home this October, November and December so I can binge Hallmark Christmas movies all day just like last year. I just don’t want to catch COVID again to do it. I’ll pass on that.
I’ve got the start date slotted in my calendar.
keith, Wow, 35 days in the hospital with the virus! Bless your heart. And your wife. Oh my, that must have been quite difficult. So glad you are well now after all of that.
DeleteThere is certainly great joy and solace in watching Christmas movies, so I'm sure that had a great impact on your recovery and uplifting your spirit.
I've heard other stories similar to yours and how the 24/7 Christmas movies were a constant comfort during a difficult time or illness. They do provide a great sense of calm and peace, a perfect escape from the constant sadness on the local or national news.
So glad the Christmas movies were there for you - when you needed them the most. Love that you are trying to figure out how to work from home again this Christmas! Hope you can figure out a way to do it!!! :)
Jim, So glad you have fallen for "When Hope Calls," too! I agree, it is hard to imagine the series without Jocelyn Hudon as the younger sister, Grace Bennett. It felt like there were still many more stories to tell with Grace and Lillian, and since they just found each other again, it seems hard to believe they would want to live so far away. I know just how you feel, Jim, it breaks my heart, too.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I do feel they handled it well in the Christmas movie, and the stories still felt heartwarming without Grace. I don't know how they will handle season 2 exactly. Hopefully, there will be some communication with Grace via mail or telegrams.
Also, good to hear you enjoyed this Christmas movie news! Always great to hear from you!!! :)
Net, I'm looking forward to your annual Movie Awards contest - should be coming up soon, right? I'm anxious to see which movies we get to vote on, what the top 10 Christmas movies are, and how they rank. Thanks for doing this every year - I know it's a lot of work on your end, but it's always a lot of fun for us participants!
ReplyDeleteMark 25 - Awe, thank you so much! It's a work-n-progress! Stay tuned! :)
DeleteOooh, sounds very fun! -Maria
DeleteJim, I love your passionate plea to bring Grace back to WHC! With all my heart, I would love to see Jocelyn Hudon return to the role, but if she is unable to do so - due to other acting commitments, I think it would be okay to see another actress in the role. Grace is truly key to the story and going on without her seems incomplete. It would be hard to see someone else as Grace, at first, but I think we could eventually get used to it. However, since she is married now, they probably wouldn't bother to bring her back, unless it's for a quick visit. In that case, I would definitely prefer, if possible, to see Jocelyn Hudon again! :)
