I'll name 7 Lifetime Christmas movies I'm looking forward to seeing:
Reba McEntire's Christmas in Tune (of course, starring famous country singer Reba McEntire and Dukes of Hazard star, John Schneider),
Miracle in Motor City (starring Tia Mowry, Mark Taylor and Smokey Robinson)
Christmas Movie Magic (starring Holly Deveaux and Drew Seeley),

The Enchanted Christmas Cake (starring Erica Durance and Robin Dunne)
Toying with the Holidays (starring Chad Michael Murray and Cindy Busby)
It Takes a Christmas Village (starring Brooke Nevin, Corey Sevier and Alli Chung)
And... there's a few more I want to see!
Which Lifetime Christmas movies are on your must-see list? Please share in comments below...
I heard the viewers saying “Christmas with a Crown” is worst movie ever. It’s filmed last 2 years ago
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've heard some reviews like that, too. The movie was on YT for awhile, and I was going to watch it there, but it was taken down before I had the chance.
DeleteIMDB reviewers give it a 6.7 average and except for one review people rate it pretty high. I'm going to give a try because it sounds fun to me!
DeleteLifetime's schedule looks full but according to Reel One Entertainment they picked up the following 3 Christmas movies none of which are in the above list:
ReplyDeleteChristmas A La Carte - Erin Agostino, Dillon Casey
Loving Christmas - Brittany Bristow, Oliver Renaud
A Snowy Christmas - Elysia Rotaru, Damon Runyan
They'd hardly show these at any other time of year - Florence
Florence, that's interesting. Wonder if they will add them in somewhere or if the could go to their streaming source or Lifetime Movie Network???
DeleteThe last one you mentioned, "A Snowy Christmas" starring Elysia Rotaru and Damon Runyan, is going to air on UPtv, so maybe there has been a change of plans on the other two movies, too.
I'll be honest...I haven't watched many of the Lifetime Christmas movies in past years, and by the looks of the ones above, I probably won't this year either. (Too many same-ol'-same-ol' plots...and who are a lot of these actors??) That said, I will be watching the following four, because of who is in them: Christmas in Tune, The Enchanted Christmas Cake, Toying with the Holidays, and It Takes a Village. Which is fine, because I know I will be keeping busy with a lot of the Hallmark and GAC movies, and my TV (and eyesight) can only take so much!! :)
ReplyDeleteMark 25 - YEEEESSSS!!!! I was thinking the same thing, too! Who are some of these actors??? It is an overwhelming amount of movies, isn't it? Like you, I'm planning to watch more on Hallmark and ALL of GAC Family's Christmas!!!
DeleteLol...I think Lifetime & Hallmark are both that way. I love my Hallmark movie's, but most of them made today is the same movie over and over, with different actors. Also, I wish they would all stop doing the same things in every movie, especially Hallmark. Every movie, the almost kiss, the couple are about to kiss for the first time, and the phone rings or someone interrupts them. Then you have the food on the face. The couple is eating, and they get a little food on their face, just so the other one could pick it off. Then you have the girl falling in the leading man's arms, she is using climbing a ladder and loses her balance, and falls into his arms. Then there's the plots. The leading actor/actress goes home to stop a family business or home from being bought. While home they fall back in love with their ex. Then there's the leading man/woman who gets a new job, only to give it up for the person they love. These are just a few things that are the same over and over again. The older Hallmark movies were done so much better. I think the problem is, their trying to make new movies constantly, that their not making the best product all the time. It should be quality over quantity.
DeleteYou are absolutely right, Marlena.
DeleteI feel the same way.
Ken
Thank you, Net! I pretty much agree with your list. It is great to see Smokey Robinson in a movie!
ReplyDeleteMisty
Misty, Thank you for sharing! Great minds think alike! :)
DeleteLove your website. Starting October 22nd, I'll have my TV set to the Hallmark Channels and Lifetime and I'll be looking at your website daily! I look forward to this every single year!! Thanks for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteNcDesigner, Thank you so much for your daily visits here! It's going to be another busy Christmas season - but I'm happy to help you navigate through it! :)
DeleteA lot of these sound fun, thank you for putting together this list. The new e-mail format looks great, too! :)
ReplyDeleteMarianne, Happy to share! And... thank you for the comment on the email list; I'm glad to hear you are receiving it just fine.
DeleteI am most looking forward to seeing “A Gospel Christmas” with Kirk Franklin. With Jesus being the reason for the season, I love that there is a movie with a gospel music theme! I sure hope Lifetime doesn’t somehow make this movie inappropriate. Contemporary Christian Music artists such as Amy Grant, Michael W Smith and Rebecca St James have all acted in movies before and have their own Christmas music albums, so I wish we would see them in movies featuring their music. Married couple Vince Gill and Amy Grant could even be featured in a movie together.
ReplyDeleteYes, Thank you for sharing this movie pick. I hope this movie is a good representation of our Lord. :)
DeleteAmy Grant and Vince Gill in a Christmas movie where they sing, that would be a dream come true!
DeleteKathy, I agree! I watched them in a Christmas concert together and it was awesome!
DeleteWhat do you think of this new Christmas TV movie schedule? Do you think it will help or hurt their ratings? I think that with all of the competition, especially GAC, having the movies start late may hurt the network even with the “30 in 30” plan?
ReplyDeleteI think the new Lifetime schedule is interesting; I agree it is a late start and quite a commitment to ask people to watch a new movie every night in December. Usually people are too busy for that. I don't how that will go.
DeleteLots of people like to watch classic Christmas movies, too, on Hallmark and movies & cartoons on Freeform, local stations, etc... throughout the week- so that will have an effect, as well.
Hallmark attempted several years ago to do new movies on Tuesday and Thursday nights - and obviously that didn't go as great as they anticipated, so they switched back to weekends.
Guess we'll see how this goes for Lifetime! :)
I kind of like the idea of new Christmas movies not being all bunched together on one night. Instead we get to watch them as a one a day treat. At least they are trying something new!
DeleteI agree with your faves to see, especially REBA MCENTIRE'S CHRISTMAS IN TUNE and the ENCHANTED CHRISTMAS CAKE. I am also looking forward to HOLIDAY IN SANTA FE with Mario Lopez and his 11-yr-old daughter and PEOPLE PRESENTS: BLENDING CHRISTMAS with several Brady Bunch alums. I actually find at least a couple of faves on Lifetime every year and hoping for the same this season. SNOWED-INN CHRISTMAS is an example of a wonderful Lifetime Christmas movie and I had to own it.
DeleteHas anybody heard if the networks will air Christmas movies 24 hours a day from the time the first movies air through Christmas Day or New Year’s Day? Of course, Lifetime says 24 hours a day, but it never is. Lifetime is airing a couple of movies on Friday, 10/07 and Thursday and Friday, 10/07 and 10/08. However, they are definitely not all family-friendly. However, having this sprinkling of holiday movies make makes me wonder if some networks will start earlier than advertised as they have sometimes done in the past. I sure wish LMN would air their old Christmas movies. I can’t look it up because I am typing this, but I remember an old one with Nancy McKeon, something like “Comfort and Joy”. Although its premise was not family-friendly, it is an example of a movie that could air on LMN.
ReplyDeleteJocelyn Hudon is busy filming her action movie called; “Ridetide”, starring Val Kilmer, Henry Thomas, Jocelyn Hudon, Jana Kramer, Chance CrawfordC others
ReplyDeleteJocelyn said she won’t be in WHC: Christmas & Season 2 - How long she will be back to do filming WHC when she said π€·♀️π€·♀️π€·♀️?
Jocelyn’s shunt double?
Sorry if it sounds harsh but in the majority of cases I really find a lot of the pairings in the Lifetime Christmas movies decidedly strange.
ReplyDeleteHowever, during January and February we will work our way through most of them and we will have the advantage of knowing to avoid them if they are not Family Friendly enough - Florence
When I read the lineup yesterday, I thought it was interesting how they are doing a new movie each night instead of starting in October. Wonder if they're hoping to get the market away from HC on those nights where HC has re-airings of the movies.
ReplyDeleteBetween Lifetime, Hallmark’s three channels, UP TV, and the two GAC two channels , and specials on PBS, Networks, TBN, Freeform, CMT, TMC, AMC…. goodness, a lot to sort through and decide what is worth watching. Which will lift my spirt? Which really give me goosebumps, and sweet memories? Oh my, and adding in old favorites. No shortage of things to watch!
ReplyDeleteI didn't even realize that Lifetime had Christmas movies until about 3 or 4 years ago. Then one night I sat down to watch that channel (on a recommendation from someone else) and Christmas movie that was airing was not what I wanted my little ones to be watching. I hadn't watched it again until last year when a movie was recommended. I did like it and I wish I wrote it down. Some of the ones that Net wrote as possibilities are the ones that seemed interesting to me too. ~Mary~
ReplyDeleteI'm interested in seeing Christmas With A Crown with Lisa Durupt and Marcus Rosner. So good to see them cast as leads, especially Lisa! My husband and I have said for years we didn't understand why Hallmark had not featured Lisa in a lead role. I hope that one is family friendly!!! tThanks for the list Net!
ReplyDeletei hope that there is a movie with Lacey Chabert and other original actresses....miss them....
ReplyDeleteI have good news for you! Lacey Chabert is doing a new Christmas movie for the Hallmark Channel called "Christmas at Castle Hart."
DeleteYou can see details here:
https://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2021/09/hallmark-channel-2021-countdown-to-christmas-movies-candace-cameron-bure-lacey-chabert-tv-schedule-list.html
You'll probably see other familiar names there, too!
Enjoy! :)
Since Hallmark Channel or Hallmark Movies and Mysteries doesn't do Christmas movies that takes place in a church will Lifetime have Christmas movies that are religious and takes place in a church?
ReplyDeleteYou Make It Feel Like Christmas is not family friendly! There is a same sex couple that is one of the main couples in the movie.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate you letting us know - Thank you!

Well, yet again I had to turn the station. Lifetime's Saying Yes to Christmas had a scene 30 minutes in with a psychic and a mention of something about exorcism. I couldn't turn it fast enough. I was having a hard time getting into it in the first place. Just wanted to share to let others know. Merry Christmas Net and thank you for being a family friendly place to visit!
Delete"A Christmas Village Romance" is family-friendly and pretty cute. Its budget wasn't huge and they shouldn't have bothered with throwing in the snow at the end, but the creative storyline and period costumes made me smile! :-)

I would say that "Merry Liddle Christmas Baby" is not family friendly. I thought the first movie (two years ago) in the "Liddle" series was kind of cute, but this third one wasn't worth it - I deleted it pretty quickly. One of the three adult sisters figures out the reason she's tired and queasy is that she's pregnant, and the father is the live-in boyfriend she's not married to (he's about to ask her to marry him over Christmas, but that's not exactly the order things are supposed to happen!).

Christmas with a Crown. No idea if it's family friendly. I couldn't get past the first 30 minutes. Maybe someone who just looooves "royal" movies will find this one more to their taste. To me it was awkward and just "meh". Oh, well, on to the next one!

The Holiday Fix Up. Same sex couple embracing in the first five minutes of movie. My guess is that that couple is not featured later in the movie but if the producers decided to put it in the first five minutes I can only assume the rest of the movie is similar. So I deleted and am on to the next one -- so good to clear some space on the dvr.

"Blending Christmas". Not family friendly due to the fact that the main couple are not married and are living together and an early scene shows them sleeping in same bed. Only watched maybe twenty minutes and decided to delete.
ReplyDelete"A FiancΓ© for Christmas". Not sure what to make of this one. Kind of bizarre and also kind of cute. I think I would like the lead actress in a different movie but in this movie I did not buy into the fact that she was a top-rated doctor; she just seemed too immature and almost childish at times (but at other times she was kind of cute and relatable?). The lead actor had the appearance of an 18-20 year old instead of a vet who owned his own practice; I really liked this actor but I didn't think he and the actress fit together. Marie Osmond as the mother was just way too outlandish. The nurse was one of my favorite characters and delivered some fun lines. But something just felt off with this movie. At times it was charming but then it also was just plain over-the-top and bizarre. I don't know if it was the writing or the acting, but this one wasn't a keeper for me. I watched one hour and then gave up.

Jane, These reviews are most helpful! Thank you! Thank you! I was planning to record "Blending Christmas" this weekend after missing it the first time, but after reading your review, I am skipping it - which is another plus for my DVR space, which is getting less and less every day.
DeleteHope you are still feeling better! I'm so delighted you are sharing with us again this year - I just love hearing your fresh perspective.
God bless you & Merry Christmas!!! Net
Maps and Mistletoe. Cute. Not a keeper. Good for a one-time watch. Family friendly (although there is a hint that the cafe owner might be gay -- there's talk of his family and what his kids are doing for Christmas and it's filmed in such a way that you kind of think that the other guy working with him at the cafe might be his partner in more than just business... or maybe it's just my overly suspicious mind expecting things like this in all the movies this year!?!?)

Hi Net! I left a review on this page for "Ghosts of Christmas Past" a few days ago. Did it get lost in the shuffle or did cyberspace perhaps eat it? If you can't find it, let me know, and I'll rewrite it. :-)
ReplyDelete~Alicia
Alicia, Oh no! I don't see it. I just double-checked and I looked through spam comments, too! I, unfortunately, don't see it anywhere. Wonder where it went in cyberspace???
DeleteYou are so sweet to check in on this. If you'd like to share again, I would so appreciate it!
I'm thinking my browser must have glitched, then, Net. :-) Here's the scoop on the movie:
Delete"Ghosts of Christmas Past" is unique and family-friendly (with a small caveat). In this type movie, usually a wise, magical Santa plays the role of making the character rethink something in his/her life, but, in this one, it's a crazy fortune teller lady at the office party with a magic snow globe, which may bother some people. The characters are quirky, but I like them. Mostly, though, I love that the storyline highlights how the current, cultural "ghosting" trend is soooo incredibly RUDE, and portrays things being made right. It sucked me in and I might even watch it again. :-)

Alicia I agree with you about "Ghosts of Christmas Past." The basic core of the movie really brought how hurtful and rude people are today on social media. I felt like they were making fun of fortune telling with that silly lady so that didn't bother me at all. I feel like watching it with your kids might help them make better choices when they are on social media and I plan to watch it again too.
DeleteThe Enchanted Christmas Cake. I liked it. I thought the script was rather weak and lacked pizzazz and some believability, but the main actor & actress were quite good and carried the movie. Not a keeper, but worth a watch. Family friendly (the main actor is divorced; and the mother character is a bit of a middle-aged, sex-pot wannabe - but nothing too objectionable).

Holiday in Santa Fe. Please, y'all, stop me next year before I attempt to watch another Mario Lopez Christmas movie!! Hah! :) Actually, this one was much better than last year's movie and I think others will find it to be fun. I watched maybe the first 40 minutes and then fast-forwarded through the rest. To me, Mario is fake and full of himself and artificially peppy; he, and the movie, are just way too over-the-top for my taste. Having said that, I did appreciate the movie's emphasis on the importance of family and traditions. And parts of the movie were cute. I think it might be worth a watch for others who don't have my aversion to Mario and too much cheesiness. The movie is family friendly -- mostly. The lead actress has an assistant back at the office that she checks in with often via phone and skype. He is over-the-top, flamboyantly gay. I fast-forwarded through the whole movie, fully expecting to see that the directors ended the movie with him finding love as well as the main characters, but, thankfully, they did not do that. The worst was his obvious flamboyant sassiness and his comments about how gorgeous/"hot" Mario was and looking at photos of him in swimsuit; and also using God's name in vain at least once.

Toying With the Holidays. Cute. Worth a one-time watch as a sweet but standard Christmas movie. Not a keeper for me. I'm not in the Cindy Busby fan club, although I really did like her in the Godwink movie. I felt like in this Lifetime movie (and in others) I was watching her "act"; whereas with someone like Jill Wagner or Jen Lilly I feel like I'm watching the actual character and not someone acting. In this movie, Cindy was especially non-believable as a mother to a ten year old boy, every scene with her son felt put-on and fake to me, like she was trying too hard. To me she's more enjoyable playing a young 18-25 year old girl-next-door instead of a mature parent. I quite like Chad M.M., although I probably couldn't watch a string of his movies in a row, something about the gravel voice and appearance might drive me batty; whereas Kristoffer Polaha or Tyler Hynes I could watch a whole marathon!
ReplyDeleteThis movie was family friendly.

Good evening/morning Netπ
ReplyDeleteDid Lifetime ever get back to you on their mailing address (not an email)so a person can actually write a letter to them.
If not, can you please try and contact them again. I am texting from Canada but I would like the U.S. address. Canada does not always play all the movies the United States does.
Thank you
I don't have a mailing address for Lifetime, but one of the best ways to reach out to them is through their contact us form on the A+E Networks Official Press Site.

I hope this is helpful to you. Perhaps, you could request a mailing address in this form or share your thoughts there.
Is Lifetime skipping Christmas movies this year(2022). I am not noticing any Christmas movies from them in your Christmas movie schedule. Usually all the channels have announced all the movies by now!!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering about Lifetime too but now thinking about it they didn't start their Christmas movies until 21 November last year so if they keep to the same time-line it could be another couple of weeks before they announce - Florence
