It's the 25th Day of the Month again! August 25th marks 4 months until Christmas day and less than 2 months until Christmas movies begin to play on TV! (Hallmark begins their holiday season on October 22nd!) Along with watching Christmas movies, I say it's never too early to get out our Christmas storage containers (like Wes Brown and Rachel Boston above) and get decorating or gift giving!
While we are still awaiting a big drop of official Christmas movie news (could come at any time!), we've been given a few hints, here and there! I'll share some highlights today! It appears there will be a sequel to "The Nine Lives of Christmas" titled: "The Nine Kittens of Christmas," as well as a new "Mrs. Miracle" movie, which is currently filming. I always wonder if they can possibly top the original, but hopefully we will love these just as much! "A Mrs. Miracle Christmas" will be bittersweet without the incredible Doris Roberts, but I hope they pay tribute to her - with perhaps a flashback or two. That would be nice.
As for other Hallmark Christmas movie news, unofficially speaking...
We know sisters, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Ashley Williams have finally filmed
Janel Parrish and Ryan Paevey filmed "Coyote Creek Christmas,"
Danica McKellar and Benjamin Ayres filmed "You, Me and the Christmas Trees"
and Erin Cahill and Wes Brown are currently filming "The Search for Christmas" in Natchez, Mississippi. (Both have previously made Christmas movies down south - Wes Brown previously starred in "Christmas in Mississippi" and Erin Cahill co-starred in "Hometown Christmas.")
If you are wondering about the two most popular ladies of Christmas, whose movies typically dominate Thanksgiving weekend, well... Lacey Chabert once again will have a royal movie with "Christmas at Castle Hart," which is being filmed in Ireland and will include a fancy ballroom scene - details to come! And Candace Cameron Bure recently shared in an interview with US Weekly - "I’m not going to tell you who it is, but I’m getting [my dream Hallmark costar] for my Christmas movie this year." Lots of guesses are swirling around from Niall Matter, Brennan Elliott, Jesse Hutch, Peter Benson and others! Do you have a guess or someone you are hoping? Please share in comments below...
Now... how will you *Mark the 25th* of August as we Countdown to Christmas? Do you plan to watch a Christmas movie today or wait to watch one of the Christmas movies airing this week? Please share your pick in comments below.
I plan to watch... Christmas Waltz starring Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp. All that talk about her latest movie and ballroom dancing has me in the mood for this one. By the way, if you didn't save Christmas Waltz on your DVR, it is available on DVD - see here!
Christmas Thursday...
Thursday, August 26, 2021:
When a young woman with stage-4 liver disease meets the Marine who's organ donation could save her, the last thing they expect is to fall in love.
Stars Aimee Teegarden, Brett Dalton.
Christmas Friday...
Friday, August 27, 2021:
Stars Rachel Boston, Wes Brown, Richard Karn.
Hope you enjoyed this Christmas post today! I'm also looking forward to both Christmas movies - Thursday & Friday night. Be sure to share your movie pick to Mark the 25th in comments below...
I won't say anything yet but a couple of those pairings look like a nightmare to me!
ReplyDeleteWe're going to watch the Lifetime movie A Very Charming Christmas Town tonight - I just love the chemistry between the two leads.
Apparently Lacey Chabert is filming a crime movie called Acre Beyond The Rye - I do hope this isn't the start of her beginning to move from Hallmark - Florence
Florence, "A Very Charming Christmas Town" is such a nice choice... I really liked Natalie Hall in it!
DeleteAs for Lacey... oh no! - that isn't great news.
Happy 4 months til Christmas to you Net and everyone here! I'm not looking forward to the Christmas movies as much this year as in years past, but I like all the ones you mentioned so far.
ReplyDeleteThat is cute what you said about not peeking at all the gifts before Christmas morning... I'll try not to do that! heehee!
I know just what you mean; I definitely feel a stronger hesitancy to the Christmas movies this year than ever. Hopefully we can look out for one another.
DeleteI have Christmas Waltz still on my DVR so I'll try to watch all 3!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas movie watching, Allie! :)

The actor Paul Greene has become something of a Christmas tradition.
DeleteHe’s starred in more than five Hallmark Christmas movies, and this year he’s taking his Christmas charms to the big screen with the holiday musical Buttons. The movie features a star-studded cast including Dick Van Dyke, Angela Lansbury, Jane Seymour and Abigail Spencer, with music by Sir Paul McCartney and narration from Robert Redford and Kate Winslet.
For Paul, joining the cast was a no-brainer.
“I think it’s going to be one of those films that people watch every Christmas,” Paul says. “It has that type of classic family tradition around it. It [has everything] you'd want from a Christmas musical, including Dick Van Dyke dancing at 93.”
Buttons tells the story of two orphaned children who encounter strangers who change their lives and help them find their true families. Paul plays a husband, who, along with his wife, is desperate for a child.
PS there’s 2 guardian angels portrayed by Duck Van Dyke & Rose (Angela Lansbury)

I have, yet, to watch "Buttons: A Christmas Tale." Is it good? Lighthearted? I recall being interested in it when it first came out, plus the cast looks very appealing to me.

After her Mother’s death, Annabelle briefly lives with her Aunt (Katie McGarth) before being sent to live at a boarding house and work at the mill with the other orphans.
The Angel (Dick Van Dyke) sings with Annabelle to cheer her up since she lost her parents

Thank you for all of this movie info.I'll have to check to see where I might watch this now.
DeleteBless you for sharing! :)
Looking forward to the 2021 movies.
ReplyDeleteThis week's movies are good ones.
denise
Enjoy watching, Denise! I agree... we have good ones to watch this week.
DeleteWould you watch The Christmas House 2 if they play that on Hallmark Channel?
ReplyDeleteNo, absolutely not, Chris. That content with same sex couples goes against my faith. I definitely won't watch or promote this movie.
DeleteI would not watch The Christmas House 2 either. The Christmas House was absolutely terrible.
DeleteSnowed Inn Christmas or SSD Christmas movie will be my choice. I really need some escapism now.
ReplyDeletekitkat, Those are wonderful picks! I love them both! :)
DeleteThe ratings have been bad for the regular hallmark channel. The movies on HMM are getting higher ratings. I wonder if thats because people like me have moved to watching only HMM cause for the most part, it isnt as woke. Its all murder, but they play the older movies and I love the mysteries like flower shop and POstables. I think they will say it is cause people are streaming, but it just seems to me its been since the wokeness has started, the ratings have fallen.

Candace Cameron Bure Says She's Getting Her 'Dream' Hallmark Co-Star For 2021 Christmas Movie
ReplyDeleteThe "Full House" alum did not reveal the name of the co-star but said that her grandmother was holding out hope that she stars in a film with Andrew Walker in the future.
Bure has appeared in nine Hallmark Christmas films between 2008 and 2020, resulting in her being dubbed "Queen of Christmas."
During the interview, Bure also dished on her former leading men and which one she believes she has the most onscreen chemistry with.
"Let me start thinking of all my leading men. I do have to say that [I have] a couple of funny ones," she said.
Bure ultimately picked Warren Christie, who starred alongside her in 2020's "If I Only Had Christmas," explaining that she "loved working with him, and we do have another movie plan that we’re going to work together again. That’s how great it was."
When it comes to the Christmas movie she thinks deserves to get a sequel, Bure chose her 2018 film, "A Shoe Addict's Christmas," with Jean Smart and Luke Macfarlane.
"I would do 'A Shoe Addict’s Christmas 2,' for sure. Just at the chance to work with Jean Smart," she said. "But that was so funny, she’s like my little fairy godmother, so that would be a good one."
Bure also named "A Shoe Addict's Christmas" her all-time favorite among her holiday movies, sharing that working with Smart was an "unbelievable experience" for her. However, she is torn over whether it's better to have a magical element in the film or keep it classic.
"I really love both, which if you notice in my movies, it’s kind of one or the other. It’s either going to be the magical element, which was like 'A Shoe Addict’s Christmas' or 'Christmas Under Wraps' — and I love that the magical mystery of Christmas — but I really love the sentiment. I love the heartwarming stories," she added.
That was such an intriguing interview from US Weekly with CCB!
DeleteCandace Cameron Bure gotta work with Brennan Elliott for Christmas movie this year
ReplyDeleteI think lots of people are thinking that way, especially since both actors just recently announced they would be doing Christmas movies. I know I would love to see them together!
DeleteUPDATE: News is swirling around that Candace's co-star may be John Brotherton (Fuller House). He also starred in the 2012 very cute Hallmark Christmas movie - "Help for the Holidays!"
DeleteTo my knowledge, as I write this - this information has not been confirmed by Hallmark, yet!
I wanted to watch something different that I haven't seen before, not a new movie but something older. so i went thru the HMNow app and it was either there or the hallmark app i found Season for Miracles. I have only saw maybe 2 mins of it before, so i watched last night and was happy to watch something other than the typical woman comes home to visit and is told the big bad city is terrible and she instantly falls in love and has to move back. This movie had difficult situations but it was so nice and the kids were so sweet. So happy I watched Season for Miracles.
ReplyDeleteSabrina
Sabrina! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie!!! I watch "A Season for Miracles" every Christmas (and throughout the year, too!), even if it's not on TV. In fact, when they first aired it back in the late 90's, we recorded it on our VCR and that poor video was played over and over (with a few wavy lines) until we purchased the DVD.
DeleteYou are so right - the depth in this movie is wonderful, along with the incredible cast. So glad you mentioned it - I'll have to pull out my DVD to watch now! :)
They certainly don't make them like they used to!
Oh Jim, this makes me so happy. this will be a movie I will be sure to watch them and save and watch over and over. What a wonderful actress to play opposite of you on your movie debut :) Merry 4 months to Christmas.
ReplyDeleteSabrina
Jim, are you serious? Are you in this movie or teasing us? You have me intrigued!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Jim! I love it! Who knew!?!?!
ReplyDeleteThank you for giving us this exclusive scoop! *wink* *wink* I hope the script for this years Christmas movie with Candace is filled with heartwarming emotion!
Also, love that you joined me for viewing "Christmas Waltz!" It is such a beautiful movie!!! I think Lacey and Will are truly phenomenal on screen together! Hope you liked it too!
Bethany Joy Lenz
ReplyDeleteI wonder about Bethany Joy Lenz’s Christmas called; “Christmas in Kentucky”, with 3 Sisters: Bethany Joy Lenz, Laura Osnes, & Sarah Drew
It’s about Bluegrass Family is musical
I read her tweets last year
Beth Joy Lenz could be Executive Producer & teleplay
That sounds intriguing... hope they go through with this project!
DeleteBethany Joy deleted her tweet & Sarah Dewwb responded Omg great idea on her tweet
DeleteExcited about the sequel to Nine Lives of Christmas! Been hoping for that for years! Do you know if it will star the same cast? Same writers? Yay for Christmas! Yay for kittens!!!
ReplyDeleteYes! Both Brandon Routh and Kimberley Sustad are reprising their roles as Zachary and Marilee. From what I've heard their characters had a falling out and somehow these kittens will bring them back together.
DeleteNot sure I love the idea of them not getting along, but hopefully it will be a mostly happy movie.
Oh, glad to hear it’s the same cast!
DeleteBut I hope it’s just a silly mixup causing their plotline troubles and nothing depressing... something serious would be two thumbs down from me for sure! Hmm...
Jim is teasing us!!! In fact, it’s Brennan Elliott will starred with CCB for Christmas movie this year

I'm thinking Candace Cameron Bure's costar in her 2021 Hallmark Christmas movie will be Brennan Elliott. Clue from his Instagram post. https://instagram.com/p/CS5njGYHvZr/?utm_medium=share_sheet
The Christmas Contest
ReplyDeleteStarring Candace Cameron Bure, John Brotherton
I'm hearing this news, too, and I'm seeing a few clues here and there. Wonder if they will officially announce this soon?
DeleteThey’re saying it’s Brennan Elliott - CCB’s co-star in her new Christmas movie for Hallmark
DeleteI've also speculated that it might be Brennan, but we will have to wait and see. Various clues point at both men. Maybe she's doing two, or they are both in this!?!? So many questions.
