    1. If you saw the last episode of Cedar Cove, then you know it ended with Grace's wedding to Cliff and things still up in there air between Olivia and Jack. That's where they concluded the series in 2015. There was some "talk" that they might bring it back for a two hour movie and wrap up any loose ends, but of course, 5 years later, that never happened.

I do want to caution those who have not seen the series, it is not completely family friendly. There are people who have "relations" outside of marriage and there is some adult dialogue. I personally believe that is why the show ended. There were a lot of complaints from viewers back when it first aired of it not being a wholesome show. I think ratings dropped and that's why the show ended there.

Amazing that Hallmark would stop Cedar Cove with cliff hangers because of morale issues but have now put gay themes in the movies. Talking out of both sides of their mouth!! They are so messed up!! I'm not disagreeing with the issues of Cedar Cove, although I do believe it did air at 9pm if I remember correctly?? I also remember when they purchased The Good Wife but did not air it because of the viewers reaction. That series was horrible for morality! I do wish they would have made a Cedar Cove movie to tie up lose ends...could have kept it family friendly!

    3. Joyce, Excellent point! I was always curious as to why they didn't do that last movie. I also heard it was an expensive production with such a large cast, but I don't know if that's an important factor - since they have other big productions, like Chesapeake Shores and WCTH.

Anyway, I know many fans would still love one more movie, and who knows? Maybe they were testing the waters with ratings and interest - since they've been replaying it on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

  2. None of those look good. Why can't they release some of the older movies on dvd? I want Farewell Mr Kringle, Matchmaker Santa, One Starry Christmas, and others. There is not one movie from 2018 or 2019 I would get on dvd, in fact I wouldn't care if I never saw any of those movies again.

    1. Sabrina, I was glad to see "A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love," but I would love to see some older ones too. I think I've pretty much given up on "Matchmaker Santa" happening. Even though it stars Lacey, there must be some contracts and legalities keeping it from being released. I say this, yet... you know I still look for it anyway! I'm forever hopeful!!! :)

    2. Sabrina, I am surprised to hear that. HMM had some of the most meaningful movies in 2019 that I have ever seen. The stories touch your heart! We do like different things in movies. I have ordered 5 of the movies listed above. Each one of them has something special about it; at least, to me. I love the old ones too. If we all liked the same things, life would be boring.

    3. Hey Sabrina, I do have to agree with you. I find the earlier Hallmark Christmas movies much better than the more recent ones. Last year was very much disappointing - quantity over quality, as so many of us have discussed in these posts. I know that if I were to make my all-time top 10 list (which I should do someday), most if not all would be from 2016 and earlier.

    4. I don't know KitKat, after Holiday Hearts, I had a hard time even watching many hallmark or hmm movies, I seriously turned on Drama channel and left it on the entire time. that's when I discovered A Grandpa for Christmas, Farewell Mr Kringle, The Santa Switch, The Santa Suit, The Christmas Pageant.
Christmas in Montana was BORING, Our Christmas love song was SO BAD, Blue Ridge--really really bad, Two Turtle Doves was decent, Godwink was good, and Homecoming for the holidays I liked to, but that was it.

For HM, after Chritsmas in Rome, I was done, never saw one after that but Christmas Town which I loved. Some before Rome were ok, but I don't want to watch them again. I did recently see Graceland 2 and did enjoy it, but wont watch again. Didn't even ever hear Mistletoe secret, if it was coming on I made sure to change, and watching Drama channel most of the season helped me not having to hear KP speak. unfortunate cause I love Tyler Hynes.

    5. I am very glad that they are bringing to dvd Holiday for Heroes, A Godwink Christmas Meant for Love, Pride Prejudice and Mistletoe, Write before Christmas, Christmas in Montana and Sense Sensibility and Snowmen as these are enjoyable christmas movies. :) But I keep hoping and wishing for the older ones for my own christmas dvds which are Family for Christmas,The Christmas Bells are ringing, 12 gifts of Christmas,Mistletoe Promise, A gift to remember both dvds,Magical Christmas Ornaments,A song for Christmas, A homecoming for the Holidays,Hearts of Christmas(tearjerker), Help for the Holidays, Keeping up with the Randalls, Bridal Wave and Touched by Romance.
Net all these movies are amazing through Hallmark...well touched by Romance was off the UP channel so I may not get any luck there. The older Christmas movies we miss and enjoy!!!

    6. Sabrina, I know you have such a love for the Christmas classics! I sure do, too!

"A Grandpa for Christmas" is such a dear wonderful movie - and probably the only Hallmark Christmas movie where no one falls in love and yet, it is still a fantastic, heartfelt entertaining movie - that all ages can watch and enjoy! And looking at it from my Grandmother's perspective - it's actually nice that the star of the movie doesn't have to be from the younger generation. In fact, most of the cast in
"A Grandpa for Christmas" is over 70. Thankfully, this one is available on DVD!

(If anyone is interested, Amazon has it listed here! Yikes, I just checked and it's a little pricey - but well worth every penny!)

Since they've taken the weekly Christmas movies off Hallmark Drama during the year, I'm wondering what they'll do during the holiday season. Will all of those old movies go to Hallmark Movies Now? Will they play non-holiday movies Oct-Dec on Hallmark Drama? Thank goodness we have our DVDs, if so!

    7. Liz, So glad you were able to find so many favorites, like "Holiday for Heroes," "A Godwink Christmas Meant for Love," and more!!!

Oh my goodness... I love all of the ones on your DVD wish list! You are so right - "Hearts of Christmas" is so beautiful, a real tear-jerker. I love how they make every babies life so important and precious. What a wonderful message. I think it's my favorite Christmas movie, so far, for Kristoffer Polaha.

You mentioned so many good ones - plus that Doris Roberts movie, "Touched by Romance" is wonderful too! You're so right - we probably won't see that one on DVD because it's originally tied into the PixL network and now the UP channel. It can be streamed via UP's Faith & Family streaming on Amazon.

I'll keep hoping, along with you - that we'll see some more DVD releases soon! :)

  6. I didn't care for a lot of last years Christmas movies either. I might order Picture a Perfect Christmas, Christmas in Evergreen and Godwink Christmas. But I agree with Sabrina. I'd like Farewell Mr. Kringle and Matchmaker Santa too. Also still hoping for Return to Christmas Creek, Twelfth Day of Christmas, 12 Gifts of Christmas, Hearts of Christmas, Window Wonderland, Christmas Cottage, Catch a Christmas Star, Love Always, Santa, Thanksgiving House and Love in Paradise. Would like to make some space on my dvr for new movies. Twelfth Day of Christmas is on dvd for a region that doesn't play in the U.S., so I don't understand why it can't be released on region 1. RG

    2. I'm going to order Picture A Perfect Christmas because it was so sweet. No back-story between the female and male leads which means no bickering. Then there was Grandma, Cute Kid, the dog, plus an App idea for helping people at Christmastime. To me that's a winning combination.

    2. I loved Holiday Hearts. A very sweet movie, and funny in spots. I DVRd it. I hope to see Paul Campbell and Ashley Williams in another movie together.

Fun scenes were Campbell's puns on the front porch about house Christmas lights. Then the decision of the Christmas tree lights: will it be clear or multicolored...?

  10. Out of this list the one I really liked was "Christmas in Montana". None of the plot "twists" we are used to--misunderstandings that lead to big fights or someone rushing away from the quaint town, a bad boyfriend it seems impossible she would have chosen in the first place, etc. Just two adults trying to figure out how to build a life together, given their differing circumstances, set during the holidays. Watching this renewed my faith that Hallmark can make movies for adults. And yes, I am still hopeful that they will release "Matchmaker Santa", an old favorite. (I'm not made of stone!) Until they do, I have it on my dvr and watch it during the year when I need a little lift.

    1. Beth, I love that you are still holding out hope (like me!) that they'll eventually release "Matchmaker Santa." Every time I say I give up, I don't really mean it. I still keep a lookout for it.

If... no WHEN (still being hopeful here!) it is released - I'll probably fall out of my chair when I see it listed among the other DVD releases!

By the way, I always keep my old favorites on the DVR too! :) I'm glad they give you a lift and make you feel happy all year round. I do the same thing!

  12. I'm so glad there are still some good movies to watch. It's getting harder and harder to find anything decent on tv. We've been buying the When calls the heart series right along and watching them over and over again. We love them. 1. Diane ~Lavender Dreamer~,

I so agree! The "When Calls the Heart" series is a favorite of mine, as well! In fact, I just recently re-watched the first two episodes of Season 7. What a wonderful series. I wish there were more shows like it. It seems there are plenty of copy-cat crime drama shows, why can't there be more wholesome family shows like WCTH?

Can I go with you to Hope Valley? I think it would be a wonderful, peaceful place to live these days!

Hugs to you, too, my Friend and Blessings!!! :)

  13. Sabrina, I am one of those who does not have the Drama channel so I have not seen many of the movies mentioned here. Just got HMM about a year ago, and I found this past Christmas that HMM had the best movies for my taste. There were 3 that touched me deeply. Two Turtle Doves, Time For You To Come Home For Christmas, and Christmas Town. We have lots of veterans in our family, so the military movies are special to me. I agree with you about Kellie Pickler. I love her as a singer but not as an actress. I also love Tyler Hynes. When I watch Hallmark now, I am uneasy, so I record most things.

    3. kitkat, That's a great question. I keep checking the DVD and it constantly says unavailable. I'm hoping it's just not out, yet, and it's on the way, but I'm not sure. The others seem to sell out and come back, but this one has yet to be available, to my knowledge.

Hopefully "Christmas at Dollywood," "Time for You to Come Home for Christmas," and "Picture a Perfect Christmas" is coming soon!!!

    5. Net, I have the time for this concert. It is at 1PM ET, 12 PM CT, and 10 AM PT on Hallmark Facebook.

Our local news had some shots of the Yorktown on the news last night and it is beautifully decorated for Christmas. Really brings on the Christmas spirit!

  21. I had to chuckle when I saw that they changed the name of "Christmas at Cartwright's" to "Santa's Secret" on the new 3-film dvd. I remember that when this film first came out in 2014, the trailer did not mention what the plot was, and gave absolutely no indication that "Santa" had anything to do with the movie! I don't know if this was because Hallmark was fearful to show someone dressing up as Santa (which could cause some young ones to question Santa's authenticity) or what. They were also careful not to show any pictures of Alicia Witt dressed up as Santa. I just found it so interesting that they took this approach...and now Santa is in the movie title!

    1. Mark 25 - That is curious. I often wonder why they change the title when people are already familiar with the original.

In this case, I do like this new title better. "Santa's Secret" sounds rather mysterious!

  22. Net, I think they changed the name to Thanksgiving House. I can't remember where I saw it, but I do think it's on DVD too.

  24. Still waiting for the 2018 movie Jingle Around The Clock to be put on DVD!

I keep sending requests for Hallmark to put it on DVD but so far nothing.

Is there anyone else out there that enjoyed this movie that would like to see it on DVD?

Can ALL of you followers of Its a Wonderful Movie help me out and send email messages requesting they put this on DVD.

If there is a movie that you like and it has not been put on DVD just make it known and I will add my voice to yours and request it to be put on DVD.

    Thank you very much!!
