Hallmark fans will instantly recognize Brennan Elliott from his variety of TV movies and series, from All of My Heart to Cedar Cove, Flower Shop Mystery to Crossword Mysteries, and Christmas movies, too, including: Christmas Encore, Christmas at Grand Valley, and more!
Today, I am interviewing Brennan Elliott on his latest movie project, "All Summer Long," which will premiere during Summer Nights on the Hallmark Channel!
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Welcome, Brennan, to “It’s a Wonderful Movie,” where we chat about family friendly movies on TV! I am so grateful to the Executive Producer of "All Summer Long," Beth Grossbard, for so kindly arranging our interview.
When it comes to Hallmark movies… I receive a lot of viewer feedback, and it’s clear to see viewers always enjoy watching you, because you have such an easy-going, natural, friendly quality about you that is quite charming. Your warm personality just lights up the screen!
Please share with us the basic storyline behind your new Hallmark movie, “All Summer Long.”
Brennan Elliott: All Summer Long is a story about second chances, finding the right person, and the importance of self acceptance.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: That sounds interesting. What is your character, Chef Jake, like?
Brennan Elliott: Jake is an easy going, everyman whose passion for food & life is more important than vanity or ego.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Do you have a knack for cooking, yourself, or a favorite dish you like to eat?
Brennan Elliott: My favorite food is Korean BBQ.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: It must have been interesting and unique to film this movie on a yacht.
Brennan Elliott: Loved shooting on a yacht but it was scorching hot, I got dehydrated and had to get IV fluids at the hospital. Learned my lesson- drink lots of water.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Oh no... that doesn't sound too fun. Did you have a favorite scene or memorable filming moment for “All Summer Long?”
Brennan Elliott: Rock throwing scene, skiff scene, and last scene

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: What was it like filming with your co-star, Autumn Reeser? Is this the first time the two of you have worked together?
Brennan Elliott: I didn’t know her going in, but heard great things and she lived up to that. It was our first time working together, it was a joy. She’s a true professional.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: I am most excited to see you in your second Hallmark movie this year, with two more new “Crossword Mysteries” coming in October. What is it like filming a Hallmark Channel rom-com versus a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries mystery movie?
Brennan Elliott: I love them all the same but for different reasons. Rom coms are light and funny and makes the audience feel good. Mysteries are suspenseful and audience engagement is more or less, they’re in for the ride.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: That is so true, both genres are good for various reasons, and another category of films Hallmark viewers love is, of course, Christmas!
Year after year viewers enjoy seeing you star in Hallmark’s annual Christmas movies: "A Christmas Melody," "Love You Like Christmas," "Christmas Encore," and "Christmas at Grand Valley." Do you have any hints/clues you can give us on a potential Hallmark Christmas movie this year?
Brennan Elliott: We're looking for the right one.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: That's wonderful news, Brennan! We will look forward to hearing more, as soon as you can share.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: One of your most iconic Hallmark movie roles, of course, is Brian Howell in the “All of My Heart” series of films. All three movies, and the goats, have certainly captured many hearts, myself included! It is such a precious love story.
Fans would never forgive me if I didn’t ask - is there any possibility of a fourth film in this sweet movie series?
Brennan Elliott: When the fans want something, there is always a possibility. All of My Heart 2 and 3 happened because of the fans.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Well then, I'm sure fans we'll keep hoping and asking Hallmark to make it happen!

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: You’ve played the bad guy in "Monk" and "Cedar Cove," and now… the nice guy in "All Summer Long," "All of My Heart," "Crossword Mysteries," etc… Which type of character is more fun or interesting to portray? (Personally, I prefer the latter.)
Brennan Elliott: I treat characters the same. I don’t judge a character to be good or bad. For example, I loved Warren Saget from Cedar Cove. But to me he wasn’t a bad guy. He was a guy who had a lot wounds from his father and made some unwise decisions.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: I can definitely see that perspective on Warren Saget; he was certainly a deep, multi dimensional character who had many hidden layers left to unveil.

Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: Now.. since your new Hallmark movie, “All Summer Long,” is premiering under Hallmark Channel's "Summer Nights" theme, are there any fun activities you enjoy doing during the summertime?
Brennan Elliott: Spending time with my kids, going to our family cabin at the lake.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: That sounds very nice, an ideal way to spend the summer.
I want to say thank you for always being so friendly with me and all of your faithful fans on social media. What does that support from the viewers convey to you?
Brennan Elliott: The fans are everything. They drive me to keep delivering the best work and movies/TV shows possible.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: What does it mean to you to create Hallmark movies that families can watch together? Does your faith play a role in the projects you choose?
Brennan Elliott: My faith plays a role in everything I do in life. I'm proud to provide family friendly wholesome entertainment that even my young kids can enjoy.
Net, It's a Wonderful Movie: That's wonderful! What do you hope viewers will take away from watching your Hallmark movie, “All Summer Long?”
Brennan Elliott: That it’s never to late to re-capture the one that got away. And secondly, to accept yourself and not compromise for what others think you should do.

"Sea" the premiere of All Summer Long
Oh yay, he and Lacey are doing the fall harvest preview again? So happy. I love this interview, thank you so much, my friend Net, for this interview.
ReplyDeleteOk fans, you hear that, lets get on the ball getting an All of My Heart 4. I so badly want to know how the BB&D is running. And if Jenny and Brian have added to their family (if Brian has any other "kids" on his phone screen), how Ricky, Little Ricky, Lucy are doing, AND how Tommy and Susan are doing (they could get married this episode, at Tommy's store, or at the Inn, it could be so wonderful.
Hello Sabrina! Glad you enjoyed my interview with Brennan! It was such a joy to do. He is such a busy guy these days with Hallmark, isn't he, with another new movie, mystery movies, AND preview specials! Whew! I don't know how he keeps up - memorizing scripts, filming, etc...!
DeleteBut I sure would love it, too - if he & Lacey could squeeze in another "All of my Heart" movie... one of these days. I love all of your story ideas, there's definitely lots of potential storylines to explore with their friends and the BB&D!
I'm also quite intrigued that Brennan & Lacey just filmed the Fall Harvest preview special!
Thank you for sharing, my friend! Blessings, Net
Magnificent interview here. Lots of great news and tidbits. And naturally, Brennan is a charmer in every role.
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree... Brennan is, indeed, quite charming in every role he plays. Should be fun to see him portray a chef on a boat in this movie!
DeleteAmazing interview Net! Brennan is at the top of my leading men favorites! What a handsome guy he is and you are so lucky to interview him! I hate to think he got sick while filming. But the movie still looks beautiful- I would’ve never guessed it.
ReplyDeleteHi Karen! I know... it is sad to think he wasn't feeling too great, but I'm glad they got his fluids restored right away, and then he was in better condition to finish filming. That must've been very difficult. And of course, flying, which he has to do quite frequently for work, can also be dehydrating to the body and skin. I'm so glad he got the care he needed. Getting overheated can be very serious.
DeleteIt's amazing all the various things that go on behind-the-scenes we never know. I'm also with you on this one - Brennan is at the top of my list of favorites, too!
Thanks so much for sharing! Hope you enjoy this new movie. Blessings, Net
Thank you for doing interviews, Net! I enjoy reading them! Also, is Brennan a Christian? I saw that you asked about his faith.
ReplyDeleteAlthough he didn't mention it here, I've seen in Brennan's bio, elsewhere, his faith listed as Christianity. It's always a blessing to know other fellow believers!
DeleteAwesome interview Net! I love Brennan...but what's not to love about him right? Wouldn't it be great to have All of My Heart 4. Love Sabrina's ideas.
ReplyDeleteAs always my dear friend...keep up the good work! So appreciate all the hard work you do to keep us informed! Blessings to you!
Hello Joyce! Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed it! Brennan always makes every movie he's in so much fun.
DeleteIt would be so wonderful if "All of My Heart" could continue and we could see Brian and Jenny start a family at Emily's Country Inn! That's always been my hope. And, like Sabrina mentioned, it would be good to see Tommy & Susan get married - and I would personally love to see Casey (owner of the coffee shop) finally find love, whether it's with Harry (Brian's friend) or someone new!
Thank you so much for your sweet comment. You are such a dear friend! Bless you, too! Net
Oh Net, what a wonderful interview. I just love Brennam ... since Cedar Cove.
ReplyDeleteAs he said himself, his character was somewhat misunderstood for having a bad upbringing of his father, so he treated people by pouring all the bitterness he felt on them.
I thought Cedar Cove was a good show... too bad that in the end it got lost. I was always curious to hear Judge Olivia's answer to the question Paul (Colin Ferguson) asks her at the end of the season ...we'll never know...
Hello Rosana! I so appreciate your comment.
DeleteI, too, enjoyed hearing Brennan's perspective on Warren Saget; I will think of that character much differently now as I look back on the "Cedar Cove" series. The way you explained it was precisely right.
I always thought it was too bad they didn't end the series with a finale movie or something.
Thank you for visiting & sharing! :)
