as much as I do...
this post today is for YOU!
I'm sharing some fun pics below from my Christmas-themed birthday party back in April! (where does the time go?) And, we are "Marking the 25th" day of the month today during Christmas in July! See the schedule below, my pick of the day, plus, be sure to share your Christmas movie pick(s) in comments - at the bottom of this post!
Even though my birthday was in April, I decided why not choose a Christmas theme! I mean, if Hallmark can celebrate all year long, than why can't I? Right?
I wanted my party to have a feel of Hallmark's main Christmas event, with a whimsical touch of Christmas sweets, thus the theme became *Countdown to Christmas on Candy Cane Lane*! Devoted Hallmark fans will also remember Candy Cane Lane as the location of Krissy Kringle's home in the Hallmark Christmas movie, Naughty or Nice.
Like Mrs. Claus' delicious cookies, the birthday cake for my Christmas themed party looked like it came straight out of the North Pole, made lovingly by my dear, Momma and Sister. As you'll see in the pictures below, we added some fun Hallmark Christmas ornaments to the cake, too.

My favorite part of the cake ended up being the whipped white frosting, the pink candy strips on the bottom cake layer, and the light-up gingerbread house on top with a Cindy Lou Who ornament holding a candy cane!
These are the exact "Candy Land" letters we used to create the peppermint striped birthday sign on the wall...
The Candy Cane sign...
and the Gingerbread house (which lights up!) and more...

We also had cheerful, candy sprinkled cupcakes - topped with lollipops, gingerbread, and cupcake picks with Christmas trees and my favorite Christmas movies! The flavor of the cake was the recipe from my Grandmother... Ma-Ma's delicious Million Dollar Pound Cake!

Wanting to incorporate some of the Holiday films I love, I created my own banner/garland of past and present Christmas movies to add to the festive birthday dΓ©cor - simply strung on baker's twine.

As for gifts, I was given a very cool Countdown to Christmas red truck!
Doesn't it remind you of Christmas in Evergreen?
I also received a Christmas puzzle book from my Sister, who knows how much I love the new Hallmark movie, Crossword Mysteries!
And... these adorable, cozy Hallmark socks & tee...
I was given such lovely things for my birthday from all my loved ones, including some very pretty Christmassy sweaters. In fact, two of them have been seen on Candace Cameron Bure! They’re actually from the Christmas special, Christmas Across America, that has, yet, to air!
The greatest gift of any birthday is spending special time with my family. I also want to thank all of you – who commented and sent well wishes on my birthday in April.
As we mark this special day, this means we are now 5 MONTHS away from CHRISTMAS DAY!!! YAY!!! We're getting closer!!!

ReplyDeleteI'm watching the Hallmark Channel all day today. I don't want Christmas in July to end!
Hello Karen! Thank you so much for your sweet words - on the pictures & everything!
DeleteI feel the exact same way about Christmas in July! When it's gone, I know I'll be yearning even more for the actual Christmas season to begin! :)
This is absolutely beautiful...have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you! I hope you have a great day, too! Happy Christmas in July!!! :)
DeleteHappy Birthday, Net! I LOVE your banner! You should sell them! Or rather, Hallmark should! LOL
ReplyDeleteMisty
Hi Misty... I agree, that would be fantastic! Oh, how I wish I had the rights to sell them! I'm sure it would be a hot-seller! Hallmark absolutely should make Christmas banners with their most well-loved Christmas movies. I think lots of Hallmark fans would love that!
DeleteOr, anyone could DIY one for yourself. I simply printed out the posters of my favorite Christmas movies on matte photo paper and strung them on baker's twine to hang. Voila! It was pretty easy to do, but I loved the look in the end! :)
Thank you, Misty, for your sweet comment! :)
Oops, make that Happy Birthday in July, Net! LOL
ReplyDeleteMisty
Awe, thank you, Misty!!! Happy Christmas in July to you!!! :)
DeleteWhat a great blog. Two of my most favorite things are Christmas and the Hallmark channel. Don't know if I want to start the Christmas season so early, though..Thanks for your visit to me. I loved hearing from you..Happy Thursday..Judy
ReplyDeleteHello Judy! Thank you for visiting, saying hello, and sharing your love of Hallmark movies & Christmas!!!

Net, your birthday celebration was absolutely fabulous! You and your family are some very talented an creative folks!
ReplyDeleteI'm watching Christmas Incorporated right now...missed Miss Christmas..bummer! I'm our church secretary, so I was at work. Happy Mark the 25th everyone. I will be watching Christmas movies the remainder of this day! Hate to see the July fun end!
Hello Joyce! Thank you so much for the sweet message! I saw just a little bit of Miss Christmas yesterday... oh what a good one! Thank goodness they finally put that one on DVD- Brooke & Marc are a perfect couple in that movie!
DeleteGlad you were able to enjoy lots of good Christmas movies after work was over.
Happy Christmas in July & Blessings to You, my dear friend!!! :) I don't want it to end, either, but all good things must...... right?
Thank goodness October is right around the corner!!! :)

DeleteBlessings to you my dear friend!
Oh my gosh, Joyce! I love it!!! You have such a sweet, thoughtful daughter who knows your love of Hallmark movies!
DeleteWe can be Hallmark twins!! :)
I love it...my dear sweet twin!!!
DeleteOh, Jim... Thank you for your comments on my birthday cake, etc... That was the sweetest! I hope you know, YOU are a very special part of this *It's a Wonderful Movie* family that has grown over the years. I'm so thankful for people, like you, who return to say hello and share movie likes and dislikes, too!
ReplyDeleteAs for dislikes, I completely understand how you feel when it's all said and done. Dec 26th can be difficult, or the worst, as Morgan says in The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. ...Especially since we've become accustomed to Christmas all year long. Hallmark will probably end Christmas movies- just around New Years, and it's hard to say if Christmas Thursdays & Fridays will return, but whether they do or don't, we'll be here together, one big happy IAWM family! We'll chat about Winterfest and every season/holiday thereafter. Course, no holiday is as great as Christmas, but that's what makes it so special!
No matter what Hallmark does, I'm planning to keep a few Christmassy things out next year, too!!! And, of course, we'll continue to Mark the 25th as we continue the countdown to Christmas 2020! Happy Christmas in January, February, March, and All year through!!! :)
Hey Net, Happy Birthday to you! The pictures are really great and it looks like you had a great party. Many happy returns of the day to you and your family. Thank you for the reminder about remembering the 25th, it almost got past me. I know what I am going to watch, though. With two wonderful actors whom I really like, Allison Sweeney and Sheryl Lee Ralphs, I am watching "Christmas at Holly Lodge" tonight. Their relationship in this film always gets to me. Merry Christmas in July everybody. Enjoy.

DeleteDanica McKellar as Angie Dove, host of a popular Philadelphia-based reality show dedicated to helping single people find their soulmates. Bruce Boxleitner as Angie’s dad, Nick Colomba, a retired detective. Victor Webster as Kyle Cooper, a by-the-book detective.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm so thrilled to hear of this cast news for Danica's new Mystery series... Matchmaker Mysteries!
DeleteWow, look at that cake! Happy Birthday Net! It looks like a wonderful party with lots of goodies and fun. Love those lollipops, and that Cindy Lou ornament is so cute. I've been watching the Christmas shows all this month, and loving it. I just watched one with Candace Cameron Bure - the one with the shoes! Christmas Under Wraps is a favorite of mine. It's been a great month of Christmas shows, and loved coming over here to see all the latest shows. : )
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Hello Sheri! Thank you so much for your sweet message! It was truly a wonderful birthday... I felt so blessed from the tremendous love of my family. The best gift! I know you understand that fully! :)
DeleteSo glad to hear you've been enjoying the Christmas movies, too - all this month!!! Christmas in July is such a wonderful time to enjoy the classic Christmas movies we love & look forward to a new Christmas season to come!
By the way, Candace Cameron Bure is an absolute favorite of mine, too!!!
Enjoy the rest of Christmas in July!!!
Blessings, Net
Belated Birthday Wishes to you Net!
ReplyDeleteI took the "challenge" and watched one of my fav Christmas movies (maybe the favorite!) which is "The Perfect Christmas Present!" I will say though that I also have that and 43 other Christmas movies saved on my DVR. For my most favorite Hallmark movies (that I have not purchased the DVD of) I keep them on the DVR until they fall to the bottom....then I can watch them anytime I want!I have about 300 Hallmark and Hallmark Christmas movies on DVD....our DVD collection is about 2700 movies! And you can be sure that Hallmark movies are always in my Amazon Wish List!
Oh, thank you, Janet... for your endearing birthday message and for joining along with us with a Christmas movie pick to Mark the 25th! That is such a fun choice for the day! You sound like me with all the movies I have recorded and on DVD! I've never counted, but I can imagine it's a lot! Watching them brings me such joy! I'm so glad you feel the same way! Enjoy the rest of Christmas in July!!!
DeleteJim, that touches me so much! We're all here for one another. Every day can be Christmas in our hearts, if we choose it!
ReplyDeleteYour comments have been an inspiration, many times, to me! Bless you!
This was so much fun to look at, thank you for sharing! And happy birthday and Merry Christmas in July! :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Laura
Thank you, Laura, for visiting and sharing! Blessings to YOU!!! :)
