    1. Neither do I. Trust me, I know just how you feel.

Even though Hallmark's Summer Nights look fun, there's nothing like Christmas 24/7!

  2. I am sad to see Christmas movies go away. Of course I will still watch them, most likely every day.

Ok, I saw bits and pieces of that preview show, and I am sorry, but the banter going on with Ryan and Erin, it was bad. I wish these preview shows would just have 1 person hosting, and that they don't try to act in them, cause it doesn't work. I love Jen Lilley, but I thought her and Chris M were bad in that preview show too. Erin and Ryan came off very stiff and very corny.

I of course am wondering who will host Fall Harvest, Brennan and Lacey were wonderful last year. they didn't go overboard, it was mostly just them sitting in the hay letting the movies do the talking. Lacey did great on the Christmas preview, I feel just 1 actor or actress works so much better than 2 people that are trying way to hard.

    1. I have to agree with you, Sabrina. There were several issues with this Summer Nights preview.

First of all, as we all know, it was moved to a time slot after Summer Nights had already begun, which was weird enough, and was never explained.

SO... because they had to air the preview after the first Summer Nights movie had already aired, they should have edited it to say "Now that you have seen our first Summer movie, enjoy our previews of the other 5 films." They could have just had Erin or Ryan record that one sentence of new dialogue and then add it in somewhere.

Really, they probably should have cut down on some of the "Rome in Love" footage, since it had already aired, and added in an extra clip for the Autumn-Brennan movie and for the Pascale-Sam movie.

And that brings me to my next issue. The special was only 30 minutes -- into which they crammed clips from 6 movies AND some puppy talk AND some banter between Ryan and Erin.

To me, it seemed like they were doing longer segments on some of the movies, and then shorter segments on others. It felt uneven, or imbalanced, somehow -- like not all movies were getting equal coverage in that jam-packed 30 minutes (really, under 30 after the commercials).

And then, as you mentioned, there was the dialogue between Ryan and Erin. It was awkward, at best, and it did nothing to make me want to see them together in a movie, although I will watch it, of course. Not only that, but I felt that the first clip we saw from the movie (where he figures out that she is "Sam") was not strong. They could have picked a better clip.

I also did not feel that the best clip was chosen from the Autumn-Brennan movie -- and they are two of the best, most charming, actors Hallmark has in their rotation -- nor was the best clip chosen from the Pascale-Sam movie.

I think there could have been better preview snippets, especially since they are supposed to be trying to get us excited for this event. I think the movies must be better than the clips that were shown, which is sometimes the case.

It made me miss the destination movies from last year's Summer Nights event, AND it made me think "Okay, how much time do we have until Fall Harvest begins?" lol Last year I was excited for Summer Nights before it began because it included movies that actually seemed "vacation-ish" or exotic, which is what I associate with Summer. I thought that Fiji was the perfect setting for two of those movies, and a cruise ship movie was very fitting with Summer too. The sweeping vistas of Africa were a great way to kick off the event and set the tone for what was to come.

This year, after "Rome in Love," nothing seems all that Summery or escape-ish to me. At least some of the Autumn-Brennan movie takes place on the water, but we saw a clip of them tending to plants. lol

    2. You are so right anonymous. I LOVED most of the movies from last summer, loved A Summer to Remmeber and Pearl in Paradise, and then I ADORED Season for Love. Autumn and Marc are so good together. did not care for the sea movie, acting was not great and it was a lot of whining about people only liking Olivia cause she was rich. I wanted someone to tell her to get over herself.

I know they can't do destinations every year, I am ok with that, and some of these movies seem like good summer movies, not at all sure why tyey coulnt edit out the Roke in Love, that was silly. Funny thing about Rome in Love, I have to wait til today towatch cause we had a big storm here when it started, so of course my directv was out, it came back at 9:22, which is usually where the first commercial is. I couldn't start the movie when I missed the beginning. I love Peter Porte (although I didn't become a fan of his til Love Once and Always, and Italia Ricci is so pretty, to me she kind of looks like the girl that played Molly in The Bridge movies. I lok forward to watching Rome in Love, but will probably be this weekend, cause I am so into Heartland right now, UP plays 3 episodes a day, and it is so good. so my nights are usually spent in Hudson at Heartland :)
