Storyline via Hallmark: Joy Holbrook is an intuitive market researcher in DC who has captured the attention of the account’s CEO and is about to get a sweet promotion, just in time for the holidays. She receives an urgent phone call from home and she rushes back to Crystal Falls, NC to help her Aunt recover from surgery and is reunited with her former crush, Ben. To keep her Aunt focused on healing, Joy volunteers to take Ruby’s place with the town’s legendary baking competition, the “Cookie Crawl,” much to the amusement of Ben who knows Joy has absolutely no idea of the Herculean task before her. Though Joy initially refuses Ben’s attempts to “co-captain,” she begins to soften and let him in, all the while remembering that there truly is no place like home.
I personally enjoyed both of these movies when they premiered last year. "Last Vermont Christmas" is a delightful film focused on a family who are saying goodbye at Christmastime to their beloved family home when their parents decide to retire and move elsewhere. Things really get interesting - when they learn who might be purchasing their home - their daughter's high school sweetheart!
The second movie, "Christmas Joy," centers around a young woman, named Joy, who is determined to help her Aunt, who has had a bad fall. Joy takes on the challenge of the town's local "Cookie Crawl" on her Aunt's behalf, which involves a lavish amount of baking and decorating. Thankfully, her old high school friend, Ben, is there to lend a hand and perhaps, help her mend pieces of her broken heart from the past.
Did you enjoy both these new Hallmark Christmas movies - from 2018?
Every Day of the Year! Net
Merry Christmas Thursdays and Fridays to us all!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed both of these movies, I am looking forward to watching again.
Oh, Net, been meaning to tell you, UP started playing Heartland from season 1, I have been recording and I can hardly wait to get home to watch it. On season 2 right now, we have been having a lot of rain daily and I am always like "please don't rain during heartland recording", cause I have directv, and well you know what happens when a storm comes, it goes out and you miss half the show. But so far so good, I love the show so much. I didn't realize Cindy Busby was in it so long, I have not been looking at spoilers so I am on pins and needles wondering if Ty and Amy finally become a couple. I love Lou and Scott as well. And Mallory is so funny. Love seeing Chris Potter and I am hoping I can be caught up for when the newest season comes out.
Sabrina - Happy, Merry Christmas Thursdays & Fridays to You!!!
DeleteSo glad to hear you are enjoying the Christmas movies each week on Hallmark + Heartland on UP! There are so many great episodes from those early seasons. I won't give anything away, but I will say... looking back... it truly is an incredible ride with Amy, Lou, Jack, Ty, Tim, etc... Enjoy every season! I know you'll also enjoy many familiar Hallmark faces on Heartland - such as: Gabe Hogan (Murder, She Baked), his real life parents (who starred together in The Christmas Secret), plus Kevin McGarry (WCTH) later on and more!!! :)
Oh, and I know just what you mean about DirecTV and storms! Let's hope you have clear blue skies during that recording time!
I just saw Gabriel Hogan last night, my husband was like hey I know that guy, and I said oh yes you do, poor Norman never could win Hannah's love, cause she loved Mike from the moment she met him.
DeleteI LOVE Gabriel's parents, I remember his dad from The Christmas Secret, and his mom is one of my favorite Hallmark mom's, just love her so much.
Sabrina - I'm so glad you are enjoying Heartland. Around our house, when we see Gabriel Hogan in a Hallmark movie, like Christmas Song, Christmas List, or Murder She Baked... typically someone says- there's Peter! We knew him from Heartland first, so that's how we always think of him.
Delete(For those who don't watch Heartland, Gabriel Hogan's character's name is Peter Morris.)
Thanks for the update. It's the best two days of the week thanks to Hallmark.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I always look forward to it too! It really is a highlight of the week - just before the weekend! :)
DeleteJim, love it! It's going to be so great - Christmas round the clock everyday! I'm going to light up my little Christmas tree! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, Jim, what a treasure! That is such a meaningful, beautiful gift from the heart. Christmas family heirlooms are always more special than anything new. He knew how much you would love and appreciate them in your home!
