Happy Leon Day, everyone! By the way, Leon is Noel (another name for Christmas) spelled backwards!
As we mark this special day on June 25th, this means we are now 6 MONTHS away from CHRISTMAS DAY!!! YAY!!! We're halfway there! And, even though Leon Day is not an official holiday, yet, you are sure to find people celebrating it! Often on this day, there are some businesses who offer special deals, and there are some individuals who start their Christmas planning- making crafts, presents, and lists!
I decided to get into the spirit, by playing some Christmas music. Some radio stations might also feel festive and play some holiday music - you'll have to check your local dial. And... I will, of course, be watching something Christmassy today - on the 25th!
You can also join along! Here at "It's a Wonderful Movie" we highlight every 25th day of the month - TOGETHER! - as we countdown to Christmas!
For all of you Christmas movie fans who wish to participate, simply pick something Christmassy to watch TODAY - on the 25th! It can be a Christmas movie, cartoon, family sitcom or anything you like. (There's only one stipulation - it must be family friendly.) Then, please share in comments below your Christmas choice for the day!
My pick for this "Mark the 25th" is...
And, guess what? Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa is a new release on DVD today! If you pre-ordered it from Amazon, you should receive yours in the mail today! If not, you can still order your copy!
There will also be two airings of Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa coming up during Hallmark Channel's Christmas in July! You can see it: Monday, July 15th at 12am/11c. and Friday, July 26th at 12am/11c. Note: both times are midnight for east coast viewers!
Why I chose this movie?
Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa is like stepping inside a snow globe or perfect winter wonderland greeting card. The basis of the movie series was inspired by Hallmark product designs, including puzzles, games and greeting cards! Set in the idealistic holiday town of Evergreen, Vermont - there is something warm, inspirational, and magical about this place and the people who live there. Plus, there is one very special red truck - that always starts up or stalls at the exact right time!

Another thing I love about this sequel movie - is the amazing cast! This second Evergreen movie was led by one of my all-time favorite Hallmark actresses, Jill Wagner! She's also the star of the Mystery 101 series on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries! If, by chance, you missed the latest new movie in that series on Sunday night, I have good news - there's an encore showing of Mystery 101: Playing Dead tonight!
In addition to Jill Wagner starring in Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa, you will also find... Mark Deklin (Switched for Christmas), Barbara Niven and Andrew Francis (Chesapeake Shores), Holly Robison Peete (Christmas in Evergreen), Ashley Williams (Northern Lights of Christmas), Rukiya Bernard (One Winter Proposal) and more!

Storyline via Hallmark: When Lisa (Jill Wagner) takes a last-minute Christmas trip to her hometown of Evergreen, she finds that the historic general store has been closed. Using her skills as a professional retail designer, Lisa decides to keep local tradition alive and help the good people of Evergreen bring the store back to life. As Lisa charms a local contractor named Kevin (Mark Deklin) into working with her, the pair find themselves facing one surprise after another as they restore the store to its former glory. When the staff at the Kringle Kitchen temporarily accept the store’s beloved ‘Mailbox to Santa’ for safekeeping, the townspeople find and rally around a mysterious 25-year-old letter that never made it to the North Pole. As old traditions are made new again, Lisa finds herself falling for Kevin, the traditions, and the town of Evergreen.

I so love our Mark the 25th days. I might have to make some hot chocolate tonight while watching my movie. I haven't watched A Boyfriend for Christmas in a while, and I have the dvd out in a pile of what I have been wanting to watch so I think that will be it.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear what everyone else watches :) Merry half way to Christmas to all.
My Christmas choice for today is "Holiday Engagement." This is one of my favorite Hallmark movies and not just because it stars Jordan Bridges (although that does play a big part in it). I just thoroughly enjoy the entire cast. Bonnie Somerville and Jordan Bridges play well off each other. The supporting cast is wonderful. It's a cute story. And it just makes me smile. I never get tired of it. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is my pick too! I love love love Holiday Engagement...perfect casting and just wonderful. Happy merry halfway to Christmas Everyone!!!
DeleteI have the first Evergreen movie where Ashley Williams is the star. I'll watch that and order the new version today. I hadn't noticed it was available, until you mentioned it here. It is just as you said Net, like walking into a perfect ideal winter wonderland world. If only we could all live there!
ReplyDeleteThey are only playing this movie at midnight? How strange is that. I'll never see it then.
ReplyDeleteI recorded the end of Snow Bride last week. I'll watch that.
ReplyDeleteMy movie will be a Christmas to remember.cameron mathison is so great.the sweetest, kindest person,in movie and for real.one of my all time favorites
DeleteI looked up thru TV Guide (Mark 25) for June 25, 2019 — its doesn’t mention Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa but it’s actually The Story about Us
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, this movie isn't showing today - I will be watching it from my recording at Christmastime.
DeleteIt is, however, unavailable now on DVD, or you can watch two airings of Christmas in Evergreen: Letters to Santa coming up during Hallmark Channel's Christmas in July! You can see it: Monday, July 15th at 12am/11c. and/or Friday, July 26th at 12am/11c.
Hope this info helps! :)
I will be watching Let It Snow! Never get tired of that one! Happy "Mark the 25th" everyone!
ReplyDeleteI just love the old truck that is featured in the film. I've often thought about buying an old truck like that, restoring it, then putting it on a Christmas tree lot so that families and friends could take pictures when they were buying their tree.
ReplyDeleteBefore that though, my pick for the movie will probably be A Wish for Christmas. I love the storyline and the chemistry of all the characters. Halfway there this year friends!
I'll be watching a DVR'd Hallmark Christmas movie tonight. Only problem is deciding which one ;) I have been enjoying catching up on "When Calls The Heart" on Netflix. I'm a newcomer to the series and am really getting into the early seasons. On the 25th of each month, I shop for one gift at least, to add to my Christmas closet. Makes for a little less expense in December. Take care and thank you for this wonderful site to gather with other Christmas friends! Donna
ReplyDeleteI just saw that Walmart is going to have Little Debbie Christmas in July Christmas tree cakes. I love the little bit of Christmas sneaking in.
ReplyDeleteI’ll watch A December Bride! Love this movie!
ReplyDeleteI have Christmas at Graceland recorded, so I will watch that tonight. Otherwise, I have practiced Hygge all day in my way and have begun the planning, for cards and decorations come much earlier! Our first Christmas as Empty Nesters! The countdown has begun today.
ReplyDeleteI let my girls pick, it's Home Alone for us tonight!
ReplyDeleteSince I just recently watched and enjoyed The Last Bridesmaid with Rachel Boston, I think I will watch one of her earlier Christmas movies, either Ice Sculpture Christmas or A Rose for Christmas. Not sure which yet.
ReplyDeleteI just realized by looking at pictures from these 3 movies how many times Rachel wears a red dress! Which is fine by me, since I think she looks great in every one of them!
Mark 25
Yes, Jim I love that moment too! It feels like Christmas!!!!
ReplyDeleteWill Christopher Russell plan to do Christmas movie this year? I’d like to see him more Hallmark Christmas movies & other Hallmark movies. He could come come back Hallmark family for Hallmark’s 10th Christmas Anniversary & do other Hallmark movies.
