  3. Hi Net! I know this post was from last year, but I was just curious if you think that this is a family friendly series.

    1. Thank you for your question regarding Chesapeake Shores. In my opinion, it is a whole lot cleaner than any show typically shown on network TV in primetime. As far as Hallmark standards go, it can be a little more PG, sometimes, than G. The episodes focus on the O'Brien family and their day to day life struggles with divorce, abandonment, PTSD, and other issues based around their individual careers and relationships.

There are some cautions... in the first season, a couple goes swimming in very little clothing. There is also drinking in a bar, at times, which is owned by two of the main characters.

There has never been, to my knowledge, in past seasons, any inappropriate relations shown between couples... only kissing, which is typically very innocent. There is no language. And, there is no memorable violence. Siblings do verbally disagree, at times, but it's nothing ever too extreme, and in the end they always seem to make amends with one another.

Overall, it would have to depend on the age of your children, if they would be interested in this show or if it's something you would like for them to watch. I don't know what the new season holds, but I'm hopeful CS will keep to Hallmark's decency standards.

I personally feel Chesapeake Shores is best suited for around age 10 and up, but that's just my opinion, and it always depends on the parent's convictions and each individual child.
