Alicia Witt stars in Hallmark Channel's Original "Countdown to Christmas" Movie - The Mistletoe Inn

MOVIE REVIEW

Movie: The Mistletoe Inn

Network: Hallmark Channel

Original Air Date: November 23, 2017

*The Mistletoe Inn is based on the book by writer Richard Paul Evans.

CAST:

Alicia Witt ... Kim Rossi
David Alpay ... Zeke
Casey Manderson ... Garth

PLOT:

Storyline via Hallmark: When aspiring romance novelist Kim Rossi (Alicia Witt) is unceremoniously dumped by her soon-to-be-published romance novelist boyfriend, Garth (Casey Manderson), Kim takes stock and decides to take a leap. She signs up for a romance writing retreat at a quaint Vermont Inn shortly before Christmas, where a top romance novelist is scheduled to attend. Shortly after arriving, she crosses paths with Zeke (David Alpay), whom she initially finds to be intrusive and, naturally, ends up being her assignment partner. Worse yet, her ex-boyfriend, Garth, is also at the retreat. Despite these bumps in the road, Kim steps outside her comfort zone and ends up surprising herself. Equally unexpected is the attraction that seems to be building between her and Zeke that promises to take her down a road she never imagined traveling.

Based on the book - The Mistletoe Inn, by Richard Paul Evans.

  1. Awwwww, Alicia, I think you've met your match with David! I loved him in Ice Sculpture Christmas. With his antics and energy he'll keep up nicely with Alicia's wit (LOL, good last name for her). Looking forward to Mistletoe Inn!!

  2. Is it just me, or do the Christmas movie posters that Hallmark has released so far look less than stellar? In my opinion, all the them fail to show the creativity each movie has to offer as well as failing to capture the spirit of the film. Two good examples are the posters for “Enchanted Christmas” and “The Sweetest Christmas”. The poster for “Enchanted Christmas” could have shown a photo of Alexa and Carlos dancing, while the poster for “The Sweetest Christmas” doesn’t even hint at gingerbread making whatsoever. It feels as if Hallmark has been so focused on churning out more movies than last year, that the quality of their movie posters has taken a hit. I just hope that the movies are better than their respective posters.

  3. I have a feeling this is yet another movie that will make me wish I owned a hotel/bed and breakfast at holiday time. Joining Let It Snow, Northpole: Open for Christmas...and probably others I'm forgetting about. Looking forward to it.

  6. Zeke is a mysterious writer named H.T. Cowell; he's a romance writer. His name is short for Hezeiah so, what does T stands for as H.T..

  7. I absolutely fell in love with this movie! Might even be my favorite so far (that is, until the next movie comes along, lol!) It had everything...comedy, heart, romance, mystery (though I totally called it on who Cowell was, despite not having read the book). Alicia Witt and David Alpay are an excellent pair!

  8. Will The Mistletoe Inn be released on DVD? I keep checking Amazon, Wal-Mart, and CDB, but I only find the books available. The Mistletoe Promise hasn't been released yet, which surprises me. I hope they release both!
