Hallmark Press Release --
Beverly Hills, CA – July 27, 2017 – Crown Media Family Networks, cable’s leading provider of family entertainment, announced the launch of Hallmark Movies Now, the company’s first subscription streaming service. Launching October 3, the SVOD service – a wholly distinct offering from Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries – will be available on iOS, Android, Roku and Amazon Fire, among other devices. In addition, Crown Media’s MVPD partners will have the opportunity to offer Hallmark Movies Now as a supplementary subscription service to their customers. The announcement was made today as part of Crown Media Family Networks’ biannual TV Critics Association Press Tour.
For $5.99 a month or $59.99 a year, subscribers to the service will have access to between 800 and 1,000 hours of family friendly content not available on Crown Media’s linear channels, with newly refreshed offerings every week.
“As we continue to see demand for our unique brand of family-friendly programming grow on our linear channels, the launch of Hallmark Movies Now is the natural next step in our distribution strategy,” said Erin McIlvain, Executive Vice President, Distribution & Content Strategy. “Over the last 15 years we have collected a considerable library of content and this new service will allow subscribers to stream and enjoy a differentiated lineup of programming – whenever they want and wherever they are.”

I wish it was available in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI wish it was available for all of you in Canada, too. I don't get it. So many of Hallmark's movies are filmed there- you really deserve to have their channel and the streaming service, at least!
DeleteKeep asking - hopefully someday it will happen!!! :)
I'm not sure this will be something that will work for me (because right now I don't own Fire or Roku), but I'm SO excited about this! I love the idea that we'll have an option of watching Hallmark movies (or I hope this will include all of the new films with each campaign) without having to have a cable service. :)
ReplyDeleteInteresting....I didn't think of that! My husband wants to get rid of cable but I can't let go because of Hallmark. :) If this service does end up including the new movies, it might be an option. Can't wait to see what it's like!
DeleteI don't blame you, Sarah! I wouldn't want to get rid of it either because of Hallmark. Always enjoy their films. :)
DeleteOh, I sure hope this will end up being a good option for you both, Rissi and Sarah!
DeleteI'm with Rissi... I don't blame you one bit, Sarah, for not wanting to get rid of your cable- even if it's only for Hallmark... especially with it being right now before Christmas!!!
I can't wait to look more into it - once it becomes available!!! :)
Directv has me stuck because of my DVR. I have the Genie and it has so many hours of space and my DVR has so many Hallmark movies. I have movies from 2014. All of the Fall Harvest 2015 movies from the original day they aired. I cant be without that DVR. But I did see this would be available on Android, so if you have a tablet you can watch there. I know that may not allow you to get rid of cable, but would allow to watch things not on the networks now. and most TV's you can connect the tablet to the tv.
ReplyDeleteHope the tablet version is a great option for you, Sabrina. That's tough with the DVR, to part with any special shows. I hear if you even do an update, it will wipe the hard drive clean, too. Ouch. That would be awful.
DeleteShould be interesting to see how this works and how popular it becomes!!! :)
I cut the cord several months ago...saving a lot of money, but miss my Hallmark channels. I have to find what I can on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video...anything. I'm excited even if it is older movies. I'll be anxiously awaiting the update in October.
ReplyDeleteBest news ever!! I've been wishing for this for years, as I don't have cable.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone, I am a little confused =)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great option for those of us who don't have cable but I am wondering if it will be showing the new movies as they are on or if it will just be past movies. I am super excited about the new Christmas movies but I couldn't tell from the press release if it would be live streaming or not.
I think there are still many questions concerning this and the new Hallmark Drama channel. Hopefully, once both of these services are launched, in just a few weeks now, we will have a lot more answers.
DeleteThis article indicates that the Hallmark Movies Now streaming service will launch October 10th.

I was looking everywhere for it yesterday and wondered if it was delayed, thank you for the info.
DeleteI'm excited about this!! Just to check will the Christmas movies be on here? I don't see them now but I'm hoping it's just because it's too early
ReplyDeleteDoes it work with Apple TV?
ReplyDeleteI love the option of Hallmark Movies Now, and I just recently joined and the selection of movies are great, some that are not Hallmark movies I have started to watch. With that, and Hallmark Channel movies on demand, I have more of a selection to watch. I hope HMN will add the newer movies to the streaming channel in the future.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to hear, Jill, how much you are enjoying the streaming service - Hallmark Movies Now. I've heard a few mixed reviews from some, so it's nice to know you are happy with it and the movie selection.
DeleteThank you so much for taking the time to share this news! :)
Blessings, Net
