We've all heard the phrase, "Like Father, Like Son" or "Like Mother, Like Daughter". Well, this weekend actor James Denton works alongside his son Sheppard (who has caught the acting bug, just like his Father) in the premiere of the Hallmark Channel original movie:
Hallmark's CEO Bill Abbott recently tweeted:
"#ForLoveAndHonor: @hallmarkchannel's Romantic, Military Movie To Be A Hit Among #Veterans, Starring #JamesDenton -"
That certainly is a grand compliment, as I'm sure this Hallmark Story will do our military proud.
Storyline via Hallmark: When a recently retired military officer Colonel is tapped by his old friend to take over the military division to help save declining Stone Creek Academy, he immediately clashes with.... Click here to read more!
This Movie, along with several other Hallmark Films, proves that Hallmark is, indeed, all about Family!
For instance, already this year, Lisa Whelchel worked alongside her daughter Clancy Cauble, in the Hallmark Channel "Spring Fling" movie "Hearts of Spring"!

Candace Cameron Bure's daughter Natasha Bure, did not appear on screen, but she sang a song for her mother's Christmas movie "A Christmas Detour". (watch special video of the song, here!) I wouldn't be surprised if we see more of Natasha - with her Mother!

Lori Loughlin and her daughter Isabella Giannulli just filmed together a Hallmark Channel Movie "Christmas Makeover". It will premiere, of course, during Hallmark's "Countdown to Christmas" event.

Jane Seymour starred alongside her daughter Katherine Flynn in the popular Christmas movie "A Royal Christmas". They did not portray mother and daughter, but their characters had a close history, and their connection was ideal for the story.
Now, these next two break the rules (just a little!).
This time, it's actress Lauren Holly working alongside her son Azer Greco in the sweet Hallmark Family Christmas movie: "The Town Christmas Forgot".
And, Gabriel Hogan's parents are both actors: Michael and Susan Hogan, who starred together in the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries movie "The Christmas Secret". As for working with Gabriel, his Mother Susan starred in one of the "Murder She Baked" movies- "Murder She Baked: A Chocolate Chip Cookie Mystery" - with her son! If you haven't seen it, I must tell you - they did not portray mother and son. (Side note: Michael and Susan Hogan, however, have portrayed Gabriel's character: Peter Morris' parents in the television series, "Heartland")

I saw James and his son - and a preview of his daughter - on HOME & FAMILY this morning!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw them, too! I tuned in just for their segment and it was so cute, right? Loved how they showed us some of the military drill routines and that they showed the clip of James' daughter Malin in the movie. If anyone wants to watch for her, she's the one who plays the bugle and personally when I saw her I couldn't help from thinking she looked just like a young Hilary Duff - who ironically had a similar Disney Channel movie, "Cadet Kelly".
DeleteBEAUTIFUL Families!!! :) <3
ReplyDeleteI so agree, Amanda! Hallmark <3 Family!!! Hope you enjoy the movie!!! :)
DeleteI have been a fan of this site for many years now. It's honestly one of my favorites. I wanted to thank you for adding that link to Natasha's video. I kept meaning to watch it at Christmas, but never did. It was a sweet pick me up at the end of Christmas in July! Candace and Natasha are so beautiful together. They look like sisters! Beautiful song by Natasha, too! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you enjoyed it, Brooke and my site! How sweet of you to say!
DeleteAs for the video - I thought there might be some who missed it at Christmas, and I knew all you Christmas movie fans would love it! It is a sweet song and it's so fun how they added in not only movie clips, but personal home movies, too!
Thanks bunches, for your comment!!! :)
For Love & Honor was great. Good to see strong military support on Hallmark. Hope they do more stories like this in the future. π
ReplyDeleteI had no idea those were our Norman's mom & dad. That's so neat. Would be fun to have them both on Murder She Baked, but se already played a bad person so I don't know if she could pass as somebody else.
ReplyDeleteOh, I think that would be fun to have them both on Murder She Baked. Of course, Susan would have to portray another character, and they couldn't portray his parents because someone already plays his mother, and I believe Norman's father has passed away. Maybe they could be his aunt & uncle!
DeleteI’ve been looking forward to this movie for months and this movie was worth that wait! “For Love & Honor” is one of the best movies Hallmark Channel has released this year (as well as “Wedding Bells”). The story was not only original, but well told. The acting in this movie was great, especially Sheppard Denton’s performance. I actually wouldn’t mind if Hallmark decided to base a movie or television series off of this movie. By the way, the upcoming movie starring Debbie Gibson has changed its name to “Summer of Dreams.” Also, an official page for “Summer Love” has been created on the Hallmark Channel website.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to hear how much you enjoyed For Love and Honor! It's nice to have a new Hallmark movie honoring our military and their service.
ReplyDeleteI worked on a new post for Summer Love which will be up in the morning! I held off a few days to see if the official poster might be released, too.
As for Summer of Dreams / Song of Summer - they have been using both titles for weeks now and it looks like you are right - they seem to be going with Summer of Dreams!
