Prancer, The Santa Clause, Snow, & more!!!
Unfortunately, no Christmas Everyday or The Christmas List. :(
But - there's plenty of wonderful cartoon specials - with
Nestor, the Long Eared Christmas Donkey,
Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, The Year Without a Santa Claus,
and more delightful animated favorites!
I saw their list on Facebook. Gee... has ABC Family just totally given up as far as making new movies? There are no new movies this year, are there (from what I could tell by the list on Facebook)?
ReplyDeleteAlso, some of the movies they show are not Christmas movies. They're just movies. They may be good movies -- even great ones (like "Toy Story 3") -- but they're not Christmas movies.
Very odd.
They gave up on family programming years ago and starting next year are rebranding to target teens only and renaming themselves Freeform. So yeah no more original movies and they'll continue to push Disney movies since Disney owns ABC. I've been wanting them to replay Chasing Christmas for years now.
DeleteI have no problem with Disney movies, and I know that Disney owns ABC -- I am very involved with Disney-related things (especially Disneyland) all year long -- but during a 25 Days of Christmas event, it is odd that there are quite a few movies on the schedule every year that are not Christmas movies. I LOVE the "Toy Story" movies, but they're not Christmas movies. Even the supposed Toy Story "Christmas" special from last year, "Toy Story That Time Forgot," barely qualifies as being considered a Christmas special.
Deleteare they going to be airing Debbie Macomber’s Mr. Miracle" again i missed it last year and really want to see it
ReplyDeleteWow. There were so many people, throughout the year, asking for The Christmas List. Sadly, they didn't listen. :/
ReplyDeleteah man....I LOVE the Christmas List :-( Thanks for the updates!!
ReplyDelete*unknown Mr. Miracle was a Hallmark movie not ABC Family Channel. I think I saw Mr. Miracle on the Hallmark schedule.
ReplyDeleteBut, yeah, even if they gave up making originals, you think they'd at least replay their archives. They're going to air Three Days, which is very good, and hasn't been seen for a while, but what about The Christmas List and Picking Up and Dropping Off, which aren't even available via DVD?
ReplyDeleteNet, didn't ABC Family add in some movies last year, after the release of the original list? Seems to me that they didn't have "All I Want For Christmas" (1991) on the list last year, and so I bought it on DVD and then they added it later. I think that's the way it went, unless my old memory is failing me. π So, hopefully there's a chance they will add in "The Christmas List" this year.
ReplyDeleteBased on TV previews it appears they'll have "Jingle All The Wall"(Arnold Schwarzenegger)!
ReplyDeleteI wish they would put "The Christmas List" on so we could DVR the movie. Or they should enter into an agreement with Amazon to allow sales and copies per sale as is done with the "MAX the Angel" series of movies from CBS entertainment.
