  3. Tiny bits of info. Here's a link to the screenplay, on the screenwriter's website (https://sites.google.com/site/buddybaroncomedyscreenwriter/alien-yard-sale/home/the-magic-stocking) Looks like it's original, not an adaptation from a book.

And Vancouver actors Pearce Visser (who had a small part in Tomorrowland) and Daniel Martin (mostly one-offs in a lot of TV shows; see: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3697834/) are listed as being cast. Neither are the leads, though.

  4. According to the director's wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Winning), the leads are Bridget Regan (Agent Carter) and Luke Macfarlane (The Memory Book).

Victor Webster is an handsome man (and, might I add, so are many of the men who are appearing in this year's Hallmark Christmas movies!!). I was trying to remember where I had seen him, and a quick glance at IMDB reminded me that it was "Puppy Love" (the Candace Cameron Bure Hallmark movie). I forgot that he was in that movie.

Of course, this isn't Victor's first Christmas movie. I'm sure we all remember the heartwarming Yuletide gem, "Christmas Icetastrophe" (must have been a Syfy movie?). ;-)

    1. As many Christmas Movies as I've seen... I guess I must have missed "Christmas Icetastrophe"!

But, you absolutely nailed it, Sherry! I think most will know Victor Webster from "Days" or "Puppy Love"!!!

Lol. I can honestly say that I had never even heard of "Christmas Icetastrophe" until I looked up Victor's IMDB page, trying to recall where I had seen him. When I saw the title I thought, "Well, that sounds like a movie that was made for the Syfy network," but I don't know if that's where it actually aired. Since Syfy has become such a hit with its own special brand of movies, I noticed that another channel or two (and I can't recall which channels) churned out some very similar movies in the last year or two, probably trying to offer up some competition.

So maybe "Christmas Icetastrophe" aired somewhere other than Syfy?

Along the "Christmas disaster movie" lines, I wonder how long we will have to wait for a Christmas-themed "Sharknado" movie. Based on the popularity of Christmas movies and the popularity of "Sharknado," I would be shocked if someone, somewhere, wasn't hatching a plot to combine the two themes into one movie! Lol.

In any case, I'd much rather watch "The Magic Stocking" and "Puppy Love"!!! Lol.

    3. Nope, it was Syfy. My husband and son insisted on watching it -- and it was truly awful -- in "retaliation" for all the silly Hallmark Christmas movies I made them watch. Icetastrophe was pretty close to being so-bad it's good.

    4. You summed it up beautifully with; ' being so bad it's good.'
I have to admit when I'm just having a really stinky day I will watch this movie on Netflix because it's just such bad / good entertainment.

  12. Location info wanted. In imdb Utah locations are listed, but it looks to me like parts were filmed in the Vancouver BC area. Does anyone know where more detailed info is available? I'm a continuity and location enthusiast. My mind can't rest till I know, lol. ;)

  14. I've been searching trying to find out the breed of the brown/black puppy! I'M m thinking it's a rough coat Brussel Griffon...any confirmation on that assumption?

    1. Doesn't have the right face for a Brussels griffin. Kind of looks like it could be a russel terrier
