  1. Another "royal" movie. Loved the one with Katie McGrath, so this one should be fun, too. :)

    5. I too love Rupert Penry-Jones. However, my favorite and who stole the show in my opinion was Danica McKeller! I just love her and that million dollar face! She is funny, absolutely adoreable and is a really good actress! I also loved her in Hallmark's New My Christmas Dream. She is wonderful. She stands right along side Lacy Chabert, Erin Krakow, Candance Cameron-Burre, and Lori Laughlin.
She was so awesome in this movie and the chemistry between her and Rupert was fabulous. I too would love to see a sequel to this movie but no trouble between them though or Teddie (Theodora). It could be between the new Chancellor (who would be fun and funny and smarter then most know) and the old one trying to get his old position back. Ally's family could move into that big castle and whenever they go to town all sorts of mishaps could happen. Ending up in the end causing the people to love them all. Making Max a great King.
The royal movies are my favorite Christmas of all. The only one I really, really disliked was Once upon a holiday!!! Ugh!!! Briana Evian was soooo miscast in that movie!!! Who in their right mind would have believed this woman could even slightly pass as playing a princess??? Her acting was awefull. The miscasting of Briana Evigan left the viewer not caring at all about the princess wants and thinking her rude, spoiled and selfish. I feel she ruined the entire movie. I just hated it. I know she is the daughter of Greg Evigan who actually plays her love interest in this movie, which is kinda creepy in itself. It was made in 2015. I just hope it is not in the rotation very much next year! It is not just Briana that I didn't like, I just didn't like the movie. Greg Evigan is my least favorite leading man of the men Hallmark uses. He always seems to have a mocking smile on his face. I didn't like him in the Department Store Windows Competition movie (can't remember the name right now) but to be honest I didn't like the whole cast except for Naomi Judd - loved her and the Department Store Owner too!! Anyway back to Crown for Christmas, it is now my very, very favorite Hallmark Christmas movie. Thanks to a great script, great location, great-great casts and most of all Danica and Rupert!!! I did also love Ellie Botterill who played Theodora! She was excellent in this movie! The entire cast was. I vote for a sequel. I also wish to see more of Danica McKeller on Hallmark!!

    6. Gregor Evian didn't play her love interest

      Delete
    7. Nor did Greg Evigan star in the Window Wonderland movie

      Delete
    8. That's right, Koletta and Lori. Thank you both for adding that.

SheeDreems, yes Greg Evigan is Briana Evigan's father, and they both were in the movie "Once Upon a Holiday" together, however Greg did NOT play Briana's love interest, Jack. That role was played by Paul Campbell, who also starred in "Window Wonderland."

Hope this clears up any confusion.

      Blessings, Net

  8. Rupert Penry-Jones is a very good actor. I saw him the first time in Whitechapel, and he is currently starring in the series The Strain on FX. Neither are family-fare shows, but he is talented as he can play all kinds of roles. Hope he stars in more Hallmark movies in the future.

    1. How funny! I LOVED "A Royal Christmas".....it's in my top 5 list for Hallmark Christmas movies, past and current, hands down.

I was SO disappointed with "Once Upon A Holiday!" Soooo disappointed! I was really looking forward to it, too, because I liked another Christmas movie the lead female character did a few years ago. However, this "Once Upon A Holiday" movie sucked! The movement of the story just dragged on and didn't seem to go anywhere the entire 2 hours. I just didn't get it!

On the other hand, I was actually surprised that I made it through one of Danica McKellar's movies! I honestly didn't think I would be able to sit through it because I just haven't been a fan of her adult acting roles (LOVED "The Wonder Years," though.), but 5-10 minutes into "Crown for Christmas" and I wasn't bored, so that was a good sign right there! Lol. It doesn't go down as a favorite of mine, and it's not a movie I loved, but I liked it well enough. It was watchable.

    2. A Crown for Christmas is by far the best Hallmark Christmas movie I've seen in a while. The acting felt so sincere and natural, especially that of Danica McKellar and Rupert Penry-Jones. I can be very critical of the "knight in shining armor/Cinderella" genre, but this " A Crown for Christmas" was definitely above reproach. I absolutely loved the movie!!

  18. I love Hallmark movies but in "Crown for Christmas" Danica's expression with the wrinkled forehead is like she is always puzzled. 23. I love Christmas movies and this one is just as good as the others. What really bothered me was the fact they opted for cheap CGI rather than place them in actual rooms. It's so obvious that it cheapens the movie. Just watch the scene when dinner is brought to her room the first time.

If CGI is a must or a cheaper way to do something, make sure it actually looks real.

    2. To "make up to him" for bumping into him she gives him chocolates from her cart, then soap, finally a sewing kit. The butler see's the King's unusual reaction to this incident and the way the King watches Allie walk away. Probably one reason he butler hires Allie as governess.

  28. Crown for Christmas was one of the better movies on Hallmark but it left us hanging as most movies do today. I did not hear the King propose to her, he said he could not marry someone he didn't love and that the throne could survive a girl from Brooklyn that is not a proposal. I would like to see a sequel to this movie showing an actual proposal and the daughter helping Allie training to become Queen. Make it a true fairy tale story. In a Princess for Christmas and A Royal Christmas we saw them get married in the end and have to assume all is well. We didn't see them training to become Princesses. I really wish they would end movies better than they do.

  31. As others have said, it's hard to imagine it ending at Happily Ever After if there is a big responsibility ahead. That's why I like watching the Prince and Me movies. 33. Loved the movie. Especially Teddy. I love Hallmark for putting "uplifting programs" and this one hit the mark. It could be a great show on how these characters adjust.......Max to finding love again and being King, but more importantly....a father, and beau. Teddy getting a real relationship with her father and a NEW YORKER as a possible parent, and Allie, finding in love worlds away from her home, adjusting to royal life, and the possibility of being more than a governess to Teddy. I hope Hallmark does at least a follow up........these were fun characters to watch.....

"You handed me a sewing kit" is not correct.

He says "You had me at sewing kit." It's an homage/tip of the hat to the famous, often quoted line from the movie "Jerry Maguire," which Renee Zellweger says to Tom Cruise: "You had me at hello." She meant that she was his -- he won her over -- as soon as he said "hello."

The King means that Danica's character won him over -- he was hers -- as soon as she said "sewing kit."

Just one question: what is it that Chancellor Riggs says to Lady Celia when they're going back inside to avoid the snowball fight? Sounds like, "Let's begin," or Let's go in," but they're already trying to find a way to get rid of Allie ...

  59. Crown for Christmas is my all time favorite from all of the Hallmark Christmas movies. I hope to see a sequel to this movie with the same casts. Hallmark, are you paying attention?

  60. Autumn Dreams is one of Hallmark's most uplifting movie. Jill Wagner and Colin Egglesfield have the most perfect chemistry that makes the movie so much fun to watch. I cannot stop watching it over and over again. Hallmark, please, please provide us another movie starring Jill and Colin.

    1. He said, "You had me at sewing kit." :) He was referring to their very first meeting at the hotel when they accidentally bumped into each other and she offered him a sewing kit.

    1. No one answered about the breed of horses. They are so beautiful and wish I knew what breed and country they are from.

    2. Maybe a Percheron?

    3. I am thinking it might be a Friesland. Really not sure. I think the Percheron might be a good guess as well but the feet look wrong.

    4. The horse used in the movie was a Friesian breed that originated from Netherland.

    5. I love the friesian horse in the movie. I have a Friesian cross who is my love! But I wondered what type of saddle was used in the movie. Not English, not western. I would love to get one!

  69. Crown for Christmas. Watched it (again) last night! What a refreshingly charming movie with a first-rate cast – a real Christmas treasure. The script is very clever, and there are some delightfully unexpected twists. Each of the main characters has experienced pain and disappointments – Allie (parents died, money problems, poor art show), Max (wife & father died, does not care for job, has a wayward daughter), Teddy (mother died/father too busy) – real life events many of us can relate to personally. Seeing the main trio deal with their issues is what makes this movie ring true. The four villains play their parts very well. For contrast, Mrs. Claiborne & Fergus become fabulous supporters, and Lisa & Aaron are such good siblings. They all add so much to our understanding of the story; it would be fun to learn more about them. I have watched this movie often; even bought the DVD! Hallmark must know this audience wants a sequel with this particular cast and more glimpses of the fascinating scenery in the Kingdom of Winshire! Thank you!

  70. Does anyone have a thought as to what might have happened to Max’s mother? Other than the ring, there is no mention of her. Who is the woman in the picture – the one Theodora was decorating? With no wife, might that be why Max’s father was always so busy – no time for his son?

  75. I loved the movie. Saw it for the first time in 2016. There were minor flaws.Just sloppy staging that should have been caught. For instance when the staff was welcoming Max back everyone was standing out in the cold in just their short sleeved uniforms. no jackets. Then you would see several of the cast in heavy coats and mufflers and the rest in just their uniforms no coats. Especially the snow ball fight. Also no gloves! And I agree with one of the comments. Danica did not need the false eyelashes and all the purple eye makeup. She is beautiful just the way she is. Otherwise very wonderful and very enjoyable.

  76. Did not see this Hallmark Presentation until December 2016. I was mesmerized by the great acting and directing. It moves very fast and is well edited. I watch it now whenever I want to feel in a good mood. Would love to see a sequel. Everyone acted so well!

  80. My favorite Christmas movie hands down! The cast, the setting, and the music was just perfect. Does anyone know the song that plays when Allie is sketching the castle and sees Max go out on his horse? It plays several times throughout the film and I have searched for a title to no avail. It is hauntingly beautiful!

    1. I know Danica knows how much everyone loves this movie - and she's aware of all the requests to make a sequel. Will it ever happen? That's hard to say, but if the fans keep asking, you never know! It certainly worked for "All of My Heart" with Lacey Chabert and Brennan Elliott.
