Christmas in March?

On Friday, March 14, 2014... it's Christmas on TCM!

See a double-feature:

TCM is airing both of these Christmas Comedy Movies - during a night of Movies about food.

Christmas in Connecticut:
(Available on DVD)

Elizabeth Lane is a homemaking specialist, who can't boil water. She writes about life on a Connecticut farm with her husband and child, which is all a sham, and publishes recipes, as her own, that she obtains from her chef friend, Felix Bassenak.

When Elizabeth is forced to spend the Holidays in the Country... pretend she is Married, a Mother, Homemaking Extraordinaire, plus provide a family holiday for a war hero Jefferson Jones, and Jonathan Yardley, the magazine's publisher... then it becomes a Christmas, no one is sure to forget!

A Christmas Story:
 (Available on DVD)

This story is all about Ralphie, his family, and growing up in Indiana, in the 1940's. The one dream for this schoolboy- is getting a Red Ryder air rifle for Christmas. As Ralphie pleads his case for the B.B. Gun, everyone seems to have the same response - from his Mother, Teacher, and even Santa... "You'll shoot your eye out."

A Pink Bunny-Suit, a Lamp shaped as a Leg, and much more...
equal a Christmas full of Surprises!

(Please note: A Christmas Story does contain Language.)

I thought all of you Christmas Movie Lovers, like myself, would enjoy this special presentation! I especially love Christmas in Connecticut! How 'bout you?

  3. Oh wow really.? I thought A Christmas Story was a general favorite. Look at all the merchandise out there for the movie. I've never seen anything for Connecticut, even though it is a classic.

  7. Wouldn't it be great if Hallmark devoted one day a week to airing Christmas movies throughout the entire year??? I'll bet it would be their top, all time, viewing day ever. After all, Hallmark does it best!!

  8. I happened across an old episode of Little House on the Prairie the other day. It was a Christmas-themed episode where the entire Ingalls family gets snowed-in and tells stories of past Christmases. The music in the episode is fantastic and made me realize how much I've missed Christmas shows and movies! I'll definitely be watching Christmas in Connecticut this evening with the family in front of a roaring fire. Thanks as always for sharing this information with us!

  9. Thanks for this info.! I was so glad to be able to record them. I had to get a new DVR right after Christmas, so I lost all my Christmas movies. So glad to get these two back! Woohoo!
