Kirk Cameron's Monumental - in Search of America's National Treasure

This documentary presented by Kirk Cameron (actor from TV's Growing Pains, Left Behind Movie Series, Fireproof, and Way of the Master, etc...) takes you on a journey of America's history and a look at what may be ahead for our Country, if we follow our current path.

Watch the TV Premiere of Monumental
on INSP - July 1, 2012 at 9 PM
(Repeats at 11 PM)

Synopsis from Monumental Web-site:
Monumental is the story of America’s beginnings. Presented, produced, and starring Kirk Cameron, the 90-minute true story follows this father of six across Europe and the U.S. as he seeks to discover America’s true “national treasure” – the people, places, and principles that made America the freest, most prosperous and generous nation the world has ever known.

Monumental is heralded as “inspiring,” “beautifully executed,” “powerful,” and “one meant to teach.”

Long regarded as “the land of opportunity,” there’s no question the tiny band of religious outcasts who founded this country hit upon a formula for success that went way beyond what they could have imagined. How else can you explain the fact that they established a nation that has become the best example of civil, economic and religious liberty the world has ever known?

What formula did they discover? What motivated them to come here in the first place? More importantly, how can we apply these same foundational truths today?

Take your family on a new adventure to discover the true national treasure of America.

  1. This actually sounds really interesting, we aren't american (I'm Irish and my wife is english), but i think this would still interest us a great deal. It doesn't come as a huge surprise that we haven't heard about this documentary, but we will definitely be checking this out.

INSP is a great channel that plays a lot of family shows, like The Waltons, Little House, Wind at my Back, etc...

INSP is Channel 364 on DirecTV, Channel 259 on DISH Network, Channel 131 on Sky Angel, and it is available on most cable systems.

Please also note, Monumental is a documentary, not a movie. I thought it was a notable TV event - with the celebration of our country coming up on the 4th.

Hope you and many others have this channel - so you can enjoy this special.

  5. I watched and thoroughly enjoyed the history that was presented in Monumental. Kirk Cameron did a wonderful job showing the history of this great country. Wow! I am still amazed by the courage of the Pilgrims. Their true story has been watered down so much in our society today. They were good people who only wanted religious freedom & they fought for it - with their own blood, sweat, and tears. I am thankful for all they endured so that we are free today. I hope that continues to be true. It is now our turn to stand up!
