Alvin and the Chipmunks:
Christmas - themed, Comedy Movie starring Jason Lee (My Name is Earl).
CAST:
Jason Lee ... Dave
David Cross ... Ian
Cameron Richardson ... Claire
Jane Lynch ... Gail
Justin Long ... Alvin (voice)
Matthew Gray Gubler ... Simon (voice)
Jesse McCartney ... Theodore (voice)
PLOT: from Imdb-
In a tree farm, three musically inclined chipmunks, Alvin, Simon and Theodore, find their tree cut down and sent to Los Angeles. Once there, they meet the frustrated songwriter David Seville, and despite a poor house wrecking first impression, they impress him with their singing talent.
Seeing the opportunity for success, both human and chipmunks make a pact for them to sing his songs. While that ambition proves a frustrating struggle with the difficult trio, the dream does come true after all. However, that success presents its own trials as their unscrupulous record executive, Ian Hawke, plans to break up this family to exploit the boys.
Can Dave and the Chipmunks discover what they really value amid the superficial glamor around them?
Movie Review:
Adorable!!! I thought I wouldn't like it... but it was soooo cute - I couldn't help myself from bursting into laughter. I adored the Chipmunks cartoons as a child, and was not disappointed at all in how they intertwined their beloved songs into this movie, including everyone's favorite: The Chipmunk Song - Christmas Don't be Late.
There was one scene, however, that I am not particularly fond of. The Chipmunks are singing in a club like atmosphere with women dancing around them showing their mid-riffs. I found their presence and lack of wardrobe to be unnecessary to the story.
Otherwise, this movie was perfectly sweet and funny. Children and those Young at Heart... will love it. A terrific family movie. I loved hearing the Chipmunks sing and watch them get into mischief. And, it was great fun to hear Dave yell.... ALVIN!!!!
A sequel is also coming out to this movie, titled: Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel
This will hit theatres on Christmas Day, 2009!
