Candace Cameron Bure is returning as Ainsley McGregor, a former criminologist-turned-small-town sleuth!

Us Weekly has shared an exciting first look at the upcoming mystery, Ainsley McGregor: A Case for the Model Maker, which reunites Candace with Aaron Ashmore, Robin Dunne, and Farrah Aviva in the small, charming town of Sweet River, where the four friends find themselves caught up in yet another intriguing whodunit, along with Ainsley's beloved book club!

In Ainsley McGregor: A Case for the Model Maker, Ainsley is preparing for a “prestigious university exhibition honoring pioneering forensic scientist Frances Glessner Lee and her famed miniature crime-scene dioramas. When a murder shocks Sweet River, Ainsley is drawn into an investigation where carefully constructed models may hold the key to the truth — and where the evidence begins to point dangerously close to home.”

Movie Review:

SPOILER FREE -

I streamed Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Watchmaker on Pure Flix, and absolutely loved it! This, in my opinion, is the best "Ainsley" mystery, so far! You could sense a deeper connection with all of the characters, and not only was the mystery intriguing, but the pace of the story was engaging, with clever dialogue. My guess of who-dun-it was right, but that also made it a fun watch.

I especially liked how the book club was more actively involved in solving a cold case, adding both heart and humor to the investigation. A new character is introduced who is wonderfully quirky and instantly memorable. I truly hope we see him again in future episodes.

Also, I liked that Jake was still his usual self, silly and friendly, but he also seemed more mature, confident, and capable. When Ainsley's life is in jeopardy, Jake stays the night at her home on the couch with Ainsley's adorable dog, George. I enjoyed seeing more of his strong, protective side.

This movie was sooo good; it reminded me of how much I always enjoyed the "Aurora Teagarden" mysteries. It has that same cozy mystery feel. I sure hope Great American Family plans to continue this mystery series- since I had such a wonderful *time* watching "A Case for the Watchmaker"! ~Net

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

I’m really looking forward to this new episode of "When Calls the Heart." It sounds like an emotional, intense time is ahead for the people of Hope Valley and for us viewers, too, with the fire at Goldie Park and many lives in danger. I have a feeling we might want to keep a tissue nearby.

We’ll also be meeting a brand-new character, a young girl named Gwendolyn, played by 14-year-old actress Alex MacIsaac. I’ve been hearing such wonderful things about her performance. She has a strong background in singing and musical theatre, so I imagine we’ll eventually get to see some of that talent on "When Calls the Heart," perhaps even more so down the road, with Rosemary as her director, of course!

I'm also planning to rewatch the "Ainsley McGregor Mystery" again - since I really enjoyed this one! So many great characters. I so enjoyed sleuthing with Ainsley and friends. In case you missed it, I shared a review above.

Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new Winter Escape movie premiering this weekend. If you'd like to post a review on whether this movie is family-friendly, please share in the comments below. Thank you in advance to everyone who shares with us.

Blessings to You All!

🔎 Watching Ainsley now and enjoying every moment. Looking at the new schedule, looks like a great season ~Anonymous

🔎 A Case for the Watchmaker is sooo good! -Maria

🔎 The new Ainsley is fantastic! One thing I thought was great about it, was that it was a cold case, so this small town doesn’t really have that many current murders to solve.

🔎 The book club was very involved, which I liked. It’s cute they still can’t come up with a new name to call themselves. I think they should just stick with book club.

🔎 Candace looked so pretty, as usual. I liked seeing her longer hair again. Christie

🔎 Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: Case for a Watchmaker review

I wasn’t a big fan of the first two, but this one was a big improvement!! I liked that she had more scenes with her corner friend. But really appreciated how honest and faithful Jake was when his ex showed up. And her told Ainsley the truth right way that the mayor texted him. Ainsley never had to doubt him. I would have liked to see more possible suspects, but the mystery was enjoyable.~Abigail

🔎 "Ainsley Mcgregor" - I have to agree with everyone here. This installment was definitely the best one of the series so far. We figured out who did it early on, but it was still an enjoyable ride, nonetheless. :-) The main characters all seem very comfortable in their roles now. I liked the supporting characters this time around too. I hope the series continues. ~Joan

🔎 Also watched A Case For The Watch Maker! Awesome! Best one yet – Joyce in Carolina

🔎 The Ainsley MacGregor Mysteries latest feature was outstanding! The characters are now defined and presenting some great performances. The series is developing with sharp writing. I certainly look forward to more AMM. -Gabe’s Mom

🔎 I also want to say, how much I LOVE ALL The Ainsley Mcgregor movies. I just finished Watchmaker and I only hope they do the Aurora thing and keep making movies even after the books are all covered.

I LOVE So many things:

The brother/sis duo

The town, all the fun people. The dog, Bless your Arts, Book Club

But mostly I LOVE: Ainsley and Jake. How they have been together since the 1st movie. How sweet they are together. How they didn't do the typical couple never gets together or does at the end. Many mysteries end, and we never even see the couple, but Ainsley and Jake are so sweet and I LOVE it.

I know there are only a few books left, but I hope they go the way of Aurora and just keep adding movies. Robin Dunne is so talented in writing these, I want them to go on for years. ~Sabrina

Reviews:

🐎 “Crossroad Springs” is such a heartwarming look at life on a family ranch. You really feel the love, hard work, and sense of community. It was comforting to watch the characters face challenges and lean on each other. Episode one does a wonderful job of introducing us to the Hamilton family, those in their community, and their neighbor/rival, Daniel Newman. (By the way, Jesse Hutch plays the character very well!) I loved all of the little touches of faith, and I’m looking forward to the next episode! -Net

🐎 We’ve really been enjoying Crossroad Springs. Great family show and focus on faith. Need more of this these days. Thank you for letting us know about the repeat airings Wednesday night. I’ve been wanting to tell others to watch. Robert

🐎 Crossroads Springs has an enjoyable storyline that may prove to be a wonderful series. Jesse Hutch is great. -Gabe’s Mom

🐎 Watched the first episode of Crossroad Springs. Was a little hard to follow at first but it gets better as the story evolves. Can't wait to see what Daniel Newman (Jesse Hutch) is up to. Don't like him playing the bad guy, but you're right Net...he does an excellent job in the role! This is going to be a great series and the best part, we don't have to worry about the content! ~ Joyce in Carolina

🐎 We liked Crossroad Springs. Great show, so far. Christie

Grounded in Love

Premiere Date: September 27, 2025

Starring: Danica McKellar and Trevor Donovan

Storyline: Annie (McKellar), a spirited, Manhattan-based flight attendant, thrives on adventure and freedom, until an unexpected airline merger grounds her career and a breakup with a self-absorbed boyfriend leaves her questioning everything. Searching for clarity, Annie takes a road trip to her grandmother’s rural Kentucky farm – a place she hasn’t visited in years, though holds close to her heart. Nothing on the farm seems to have changed, except Jake (Donovan), Annie’s childhood friend who recently traded in fast-paced city life for something more intentional. As two old friends reconnect, Annie rediscovers what matters most – family, faith, community, and the kind of love that stays rooted when everything else seems uncertain.

Movie Review:

❤️ There’s a certain comfort in stories that feel like home, and for me this one carries that special endearing warmth, especially with its beautiful country setting.

Plus, no matter where you live, “Grounded in Love” has that familiar, feel-good story we movie lovers know all too well... Danica McKellar’s character Annie returns to her hometown after losing her job, she reconnects with her roots, and inevitably crosses paths with her special high school friend, Jake (Trevor Donovan), the one who essentially got away. And no spoilers included, but from there you likely know (as Paul Harvey used to say)… the rest of the story.

However, this movie is much more than just a typical romance. Along the way, Annie deepens her bond with her warm, spirited grandmother, uncovers the rich history of the family farm she once thought she’d leave behind forever, and best of all, she gradually rekindles her faith and trust in God.

The Kentucky farm setting is simply gorgeous on screen- rolling fields, golden sunsets, and a peaceful charm. The colorful Fall leaves in the background really make it a perfect Autumn movie.

While Annie and Jake’s love story is very sweet, it’s the themes of family, community, heritage, and faith that give the movie real heart. At the end, I found myself wishing it had gone on just a little longer. “Grounded in Love” is a wholesome, family-friendly watch I’d happily recommend. ~Net

❤️ I watched "Grounded in Love" on pureflix...and it is my FAVORITE movie that Danica and Trevor have done yet! The scenery was breathtaking, and I just loved these two together. I love that it wasn't a typical romance story, this was about Danica's character finding herself again and finding what matters most. ~Sarah

Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker

Premiere Date: October 4, 2025

Starring: Candace Cameron Bure, Aaron Ashmore, and Robin Dunne

Storyline: Former criminologist Ainsley McGregor invites renowned yarn maker and company founder, Ellie Mitchem, to speak at her craft store when she is found dead just moments before her speech. Amidst the drama surrounding family inheritance and succession of the company’s head position, Ainsley and the book club lead the charge in solving the mystery of Ellie Mitchem’s murder.

Movie Review:

🔎 Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker - this is a delightful, cozy mystery with heart, humor, and charm. It definitely left me wanting more!

If you also love heartwarming mysteries with a strong female lead, a little romance, good friends, an adorable dog, and a charming small-town backdrop, then this mystery is for you! ~Net
(If you'd like to my extended review, click here!)

🔎 Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker - I am a CCB fan and have enjoyed her movies for years. The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries are a delight to watch with great stories and a wonderful supporting cast. My only cringe is the fireman. He is written like a jokester 14 year old boy- no offense to 14 year old boys. Ainsley is a strong character and should have a solid, strong male counterpart. If they are introducing romance between the characters I would like to see a man that supports her work and encourages growth in her career. He just appears to be there and doesn’t add to the story. It does not deter me from a good series. I can’t wait till the next installment in the series. - Gabe’s Mom

🔎 Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker - My husband and I enjoyed this mystery. It's fun to try to figure out who the bad guy is. This mystery was fun and worth watching. ~Anonymous

🔎 Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker - Loved it! This is going to be a really good series! i have to admit I just watched the first one too. Both great! Was so good to see a lot of familiar faces! The plot kept me guessing till almost to the end of who the killer was. Lots of twist and turns in this one! ~Joyce in Carolina

🔎 Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker - The second Ainsley mystery was good, but didn’t measure up to the first one. It was very corny, for one thing. I didn’t like how they’ve already missed out on some continuing characters. They did bring a few along, but not all of them. It was disappointing. Hello?! What happened to the best friend? She could’ve at least made a couple appearances. They also didn’t continue Candace’s quirky grandma sayings. Unless that’s where the corny stuff came in with the chief this movie. It didn’t equal. They’ve also already got new locations. Like we wouldn’t notice. ;) Oh well. Still good to have a clean mystery to watch! Thanks for that, GAF! -Anonymous1

🔎 Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker - I just watched the second Ainsley McGregor Mystery. I liked it better than the first one. The relationship with the three main cast was better, but there’s so much cheesiness throughout. I thought it was a poor plot too. A famous knitter, with only 20 people waiting for her. And the filming seemed off to me and my family as well. At least it was clean, and something new is always nice. ~Abigail

Movie Review: ‘The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker’ Starring Candace Cameron Bure, Aaron Ashmore, and Robin Dunne 🔎 SEE HERE:

Hey, everybody! Want to know my thoughts on the latest Candace Cameron Bure mystery?

The second installment in the "Ainsley McGregor" series, titled "The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker,", dropped on Great American Pure Flix on May 22nd.

*UPDATE: This movie will premiere on Great American Family - Saturday, October 4th!

A few days after the movie's release on PureFlix, I had the chance to sit down and stream the new "Ainsley" mystery and just like I did with the first film, "The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker," I’m here to share my thoughts and review this latest mystery with you.

So... check out my review of this new mystery below. I promise it's spoiler-free on whodunit!

My REVIEW of

"The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries:

A Case for the Yarn Maker"

*NO SPOILERS*

As you unravel the clues to "The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker," one by one, you’ll surely be just as hooked as I was!

First of all, I loved seeing Candace Cameron Bure back at it again, solving crimes in the second Ainsley McGregor Mystery! And as usual, she looked lovely and stylish while doing so.

The basic set-up:

Candace, once again, portrays Ainsley McGregor, a former criminologist from Chicago who’s now settling into the quaint life of Sweet River, Texas, to be near her brother, Ryan (Robin Dunne), who is conveniently the sheriff of the town.

In addition to her part-time job teaching criminology at the local college, Ainsley runs the charming artisan market, Bless Your Arts, where she’s quickly become a part of the local community.

Now... to the heart of the story:

When Ellie Mitchum, who is known as the “Yarn Goddess,” is suddenly murdered at Bless Your Arts, Ainsley can’t help but jump into the investigation, much to her brother’s dismay. With the support of her book club friends and the local fire chief, Jake (Aaron Ashmore), Ainsley begins unraveling the clues stitch by stitch. (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself from including some yarn puns!)

There’s also a new character addition to the series, Coroner Cyra Vale, played by Robin Dunne’s real-life wife, Farrah Aviva. I thought perhaps having a coroner in the series would add more creepiness, but thankfully, not much was shown here. (Thank you, Great American Media!) They mainly discussed the case in her office.

As the mystery went along, I had a strong hunch about who the culprit might be; however, that didn’t ruin my enjoyment one bit. The process of uncovering the truth was still thoroughly entertaining and intriguing, with just enough plot twists to keep things interesting.

I’m also really enjoying how Ainsley’s relationships are developing. Her bond with her brother Ryan is playful and heartfelt; it’s clear they genuinely look out for and care for each other. Meanwhile, the slow-burn chemistry between Ainsley and Jake is also so sweet and fun to watch. When another guy awkwardly flirts with Ainsley, Jake's jealousy kicks in, adding a little lightheartedness to the story.

The main thing I love about the Ainsley character is her passion and drive to help those in need. No matter how hard she tries, Ainsley just can’t stay away from crime solving, even when it puts her own life in danger. Along the way, she opens up to Jake about her past in Chicago and what brought her to Sweet River, adding new depth and warmth to her character.

"The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case For The Yarn Maker," is a delightful, cozy mystery with heart, humor, and charm. It definitely left me wanting more!

In case you haven’t heard, the next installment, A Case for the Watchmaker, has already been filmed but has not been officially announced by Great American Media. I’m eagerly looking forward to finding out the premiere date and joining Ainsley as she dives into her next mystery in Sweet River!

If you also love heartwarming mysteries with a strong female lead, a little romance, good friends, an adorable dog, and a charming small-town backdrop, then this mystery is for you!

For those of you who've already had the chance to watch the latest "Ainsley McGregor Mystery," I would love to hear your thoughts, too! Please share (without spoilers, of course) in comments below.
