County Rescue Review:

I watched the finale of County Rescue yesterday (Thursday) on Pure Flix, and it was every bit as deep and emotional as the episodes leading up to it. One of the things I continue to appreciate most about this series is the strong faith element, including the meaningful scriptures woven throughout every episode. I also enjoyed seeing the friendships among the rescue team continue to grow and strengthen.

The storm added some tension and drama to the episode, drawing everyone together for a meaningful conversation. One of my disappointments is that we don't always get to see how every emergency call ultimately turns out. I don't need to see every detail, but it would be nice to get a little more closure and know how some of the patients are doing when they're taken to the hospital.

In this episode in particular, Dani is out on a serious call and helping a woman, and then in the next scene or so - she's back at the station like nothing happened. So, we have no clue what really happened.

Overall, though, it was a heartfelt episode. While there are uplifting moments, there are also scenes that are reflective and quite emotional. If you're walking through the grief of losing a loved one, this episode, and the series as a whole, may offer some comfort, encouragement, and hope for your healing journey.

The end felt as if they are leaving the door open for another season, but we'll see. ~Net

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hope you are looking forward to the new Summer Nights movie! I'm hearing it's a great mix of romance and comedy. I'm getting the feel that it may be (in the comedic sense) a lot like Missing the Boat or Lost in Paradise. Anyway, that's my hope!

In case you missed it, you can see my review of County Rescue above.

Have a Blessed Weekend,

🎬 Hallmark Movie News: Christmas, Fall, Mystery, and More

In case you missed it, I thought I would share some of the latest Hallmark movie news circulating from this last week or so.

Let's go...

( image via: Andrew Walker, Instagram )

Andrew Walker recently revealed he is filming his Hallmark Channel Countdown to Christmas movie.

He teased his co-star by sharing a quick video of her with a folder in front of her face. It's rather hard to tell who it might be. She does appear to be a brunette, though.

Do you have any guesses? (I share mine in comments below.)

( image via: Amazon )

Writer Bryn Donovan revealed that Hallmark will adapt her book, Her Knight at the Museum, into a movie that could possibly air this Fall. Cast information is currently unknown; however, filming will begin this July. Stay tuned! (A special thank you to Denise for sharing this news!)

Note: Based on reviews from Goodreads and Amazon, this book includes some... let's say adult themes. I just wanted to make sure you're all informed. Hallmark has a history of omitting such content in their films, even when it appears in the books they adapt. Click here to read Amazon reviews and the story synopsis.

The movie, No Screens Christmas, is reported to be a Hallmark Channel Christmas movie filming this summer in Utah. Cast details have not been revealed. Stay tuned!

( image via: Nikki DeLoach, Facebook )

Congratulations to the cast of A Grand Ole Opry Christmas, who won the Gracie Award for Television/Streaming on May 19th. Andie MacDowell received the Gracies Icon Award.

( image via: Hallmark Media )

And mystery movie watchers, if you haven't heard, there's a third True Justice movie that has already been filmed and is currently in post-production: True Justice 3: Lost Love. (Hope we'll get to see/sleuth this movie soon!)

I've also got my eye on some other movies, too, so stay tuned!

If you have a guess who Andrew's co-star might be, please share in comments below.

Happy movie-watching!

Marking the 25th as we
Countdown to Christmas!

This Monday, May 25th, also marks 7 months 'til Christmas Day!

We love celebrating every 25th day of the month here at It's a Wonderful Movie as part of our Countdown to Christmas tradition... and whether you join in every month or if you've never participated, you’re warmly invited to join along!

If you'll be watching something merry and Christmassy on the 25th (or anytime over this long weekend), please share with us in comments.

In honor of Memorial Day, I've decided to watch one of my favorites, The Christmas Card. This year marks the 20th Anniversary of this beloved Hallmark classic!

I’ve always appreciated how this patriotic film honors the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country, especially the heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice. And I just love the way the Spelman family works closely together in their family-owned lumber business. It truly is a wonderful film filled with comforting small-town charm, a lovely little country church, and a sweet romance that will always hold a special place in my heart!

If you happen to find a little quiet time during what may be a busy Memorial Day weekend, I’d love for you to join in the Christmas fun. And of course, please share which Christmas movie you chose in the comments below!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I pray you all have a peaceful, safe, and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend.

We are deeply blessed to live in a country where we can enjoy our freedoms, and we honor those courageous heroes who have fought to protect them!

God Bless America!!!❤️☆💙

Blessings to you all,

Hallmark Channel JUNE 2026 New *Summer Nights* Movie Premieres - SEE DETAILS:

No need to pack your bags... this June, join the Hallmark Channel for exciting new adventures!

See the details for the new movies below starring Nikki DeLoach, Brennan Elliott, Lyndsy Fonseca, Heather Hemmens, Brendan Penny, and more!

********************

Hallmark Channel - June Premieres:

The Greek Aisle

Premiere Date: Saturday, June 6 8/7c

Starring: Nikki DeLoach, Apostolis Totsikas

Storyline: When Georgia travels to the Greek island of Corfu to finalize an inheritance, she unexpectedly discovers that marrying her handsome co-inheritor is the only way to meet the requirements.

Movie Reviews:

🌞 The Greek Aisle is family friendly and fun. –Maria

🌞 I wasn’t sure about The Greek Aisle at first, but it turned out to be really good. When a new lead is paired with someone we’ve known forever like Nikki, it’s hard to know if they’ll click, but they worked well together and I really enjoyed watching them. It’s also family friendly. ~Allie B

🌞 "The Greek Aisle" - This one was just alright. I felt the chemistry took too long to gel so it did not seem authentic or believable. Both leads are great looking, but I did not feel they were in love. In fact, I honestly did not care if they stayed together. The scenery was fantastic but the movie was definitely a one-time watch for me. ~Joan

🌞 The Greek Aisle – This first Summer Nights movie is fun. The story follows Georgia (Nikki DeLoach) and Alex (Apostolis Totsikas), old friends who aren't a couple but agree to marry in order to basically work-around a legal loophole tied to a house they've inherited from Georgia’s Aunt Margaret.

Their relationship begins as a pretend arrangement, and I must admit I’m not the biggest fan of "marriage of convenience" storylines; however, they are honest, at least, with his mother and some close friends about the situation. It’s really cute how his mother notices their attraction and is in on their little secret. She was such a joy!

And I have to mention Nikki DeLoach's wardrobe… I thought her pretty dresses perfectly complemented the sunny Greece setting and vacation feel. Overall, this is an entertaining, uplifting watch… a nice summer getaway! ~Net

Texas Two-Step

Premiere Date: Saturday, June 13 8/7c

Starring: Heather Hemmens, Brendan Penny

Storyline: Olivia returns to Texas to help her aunt with her country music bar that's fallen on hard times and reconnects with Luke, her childhood sweetheart turned cowboy, and her passion for dancing.

Movie Reviews:

🌞 Texas Two Step is 1 of the best movies of this month. -Maria

🌞 Texas Two Step was a cute movie, but probably just a one time watch for me. I absolutely love Brendan Penny, and I think both him and Heather were great, just not together. I don’t think the chemistry was there unfortunately…. I do like the storyline, kind of reminded me of the one with Tyler and Lauren Alaina, that one is great! BJ Harrison is always fun to see too 😊 I always love to hear renditions of songs and I really enjoyed hearing “I hope you dance” Whoever sang this rendition in the movie- it was lovely. ~Paula

🌞 Texas Two Step, well I Know something about that 🤠👢
Different opinion, I adore Heather & Brendan and I thought they were 🔥🔥
Chemistry between them was off the charts IMHO.

I 💞💞 BJ so much, she is a delight!!
New to me was - Junebug, I need more of her please, she was adorable.
Nathan & Zack are always a welcome addition.

Sorry it wasn't filmed in Texas, but the concept was well written, 🎵🎵 Music was Great, puppy's & horses- Yes Please!! ~ Kathy♥Texas

🌞 "Texas Two-Step" - My hubby and I really enjoyed this one too. Heather and Brendan's chemistry was off-the-charts. Oh my gosh, Brendan's smile melts my heart. His vulnerability was touching and genuine. BJ is the aunt I want in my life. And, June is someone I want to be my best friend. Yes, the story line was the normal tired plot, but once we got past all that, we were hooked. The movie was funny and engaging and there were no shoe-drops. It was fun and I would watch it again. Plus, the dog was seriously adorable and I heard Brendan adopted the dog after the movie wrapped. ❤️ ~Joan

🌞 I just finished watching Texas Two Step, and for me it was a one time watch. The lead actress was fine, but I never quite got the feeling that she was truly a "Texas girl." I always usually enjoy Brennan's movies and he was a very believable as a cowboy, though his accent distracted me a bit at times. Overall, I thought he did a good job.

The real standouts for me were Junebug and her adorable dog, Gable... they completely stole every scene they were in! They brought so much fun and personality to the movie.

As someone who loves line dancing ever since learning the Boot Scoot Boogie at a wedding reception, I was hoping for more of the fun and energy that comes with dancing. Unfortunately, there wasn't as much dancing as I was hoping, and when there was, the focus seemed to be more on the chemistry between the leads than the fun of the dancing.

I also felt Hallmark pushed things a little further than usual with some of the dance moves and wardrobe choices. Of course, that's just my personal opinion. As someone who enjoys fashion, I thought some of the clothing choices could have been better.

In the end, the movie seemed very centered on the past romantic feelings between the two leads, and I really wanted it to be more about line dancing and how fun it is together. ~Sarah L

🌞 Texas Two-Step –The country setting in this movie is beautiful, and I loved Olivia’s best friend June Bug, who is full of spunk and personality, and the adorable puppy she adopts is the absolute cutest, and Aunt Ruby, oh my goodness… what a joy she is!

As for Olivia & Luke… there are some sweet moments with them and I typically like when two people rekindle a past relationship, but I felt their relationship/dancing was, at times, more sultry, if you know what I mean. I agree with Sarah L, it did seem like they pushed the limits a little more with their dancing scenes. However, I loved the group line dancing, which was extra fun to watch! Wish we could’ve seen more of that, too.

Overall, the movie is lighthearted and ends happily, but I would caution some of the dancing for young viewers. ~Net

The Love Heist

Premiere Date: Saturday, June 20 8/7c

Starring: Lyndsy Fonseca, Peter Porte

Storyline: Celebrity stylist Kayli must team up with hotel security chief Mills to track down an iconic piece of fashion history after it goes missing on her watch before the Chicago Costume Gala.

Movie Reviews:

🌞 The Love Heist is totally ridiculous, and a bit of fun. -Maria

🌞 Review: The Love Heist -
Family-friendly? Yes -
Recommend? Uh-uh -

I agree with Maria 100% that this movie is totally ridiculous. Where I don't agree is where it is a bit of fun. I could not get into this movie. Now maybe it's because I don't understand a lot about this industry, but I found the plot (and many of the fashion scenes) boring. Also, it seems it was trying to be part comedy (but the "funny" scenes were more eye-rolling that anything), part mystery (but I really didn't care who the thief was), and part romance (but neither character seemed believable). And did anyone else notice how the scene at the bar - the audio did not match at all the mouth movements? It's like they substituted different words!) A one-time watch only for me. –Mark 25

🌞 I agree with both Maria and Mark 25 on "The Love Heist" on it being ridiculous. I even tried to watch it twice since I only got through the first fifteen minutes the first time I viewed the movie. The second time was not any better unfortunately and I gave up after twenty minutes. This was the first film, where Lyndsy was the lead, that I did not enjoy. I normally really like her. But, this movie was not fun. The two leads had zero chemistry which is an important and vital aspect for a romantic movie to work. ~Joan

🌞 Awww I agree with everyone here, the movie was cute but not really believable, plus I guessed the culprit right away, it was kind of obvious to me… and then the other thief, I was like huh? No explanation of the ring reason, unless I missed it… Lyndsy’s dress was beautiful at the end, she looked like a cupcake, but that was all that caught my eye in regards to fashion. I did like the supporting characters though, the aunts I think, and the lady who owned the vintage shop. Anyways, one time watch for me as well. ~Paula

🌞 The Love Heist - I have to admit, I’m with many of the other reviewers on this one – this movie never quite swept me away. It had lots of the key things I usually love- romance, mystery, fashion, mistaken assumptions, but somehow the story felt a bit scattered. It just never fully drew me in, it often felt a bit chaotic.

That said, I did enjoy the mystery surrounding the stolen dress, even if I suspected the culprit fairly early on. And the chemistry between Lyndsy Fonseca and Peter Porte had its charming moments.

Now, speaking as someone who loves both fashion and costume design… Lyndsy’s wardrobe absolutely fit her quirky, eccentric, artistic personality, and I appreciated that, but the designs she created for others left me underwhelmed.

The pink gown at the end was pretty; however, I think it would have been even more elegant in a fuller silhouette or a ballet-length hem, but it was definitely the most memorable of all the fashions.

I also thought it was ironic that this movie also used the concept of using someone else’s identity to get into a party – just like Lyndsy’s Christmas movie, Holiday Crashers.

For me, The Love Heist is a one-time watch, but others who enjoy light mysteries and quirky characters may love it more than I did. ~ Net

A Castle of Our Own

Premiere Date: Saturday, June 27 8/7c

Starring: Brennan Elliott, Erica Cerra

Storyline: When an overworked architect takes an unexpected summer trip, a sandcastle contest and a contractor help her reconnect with her daughter, rediscover joy, and find love she never saw coming.

Movie Reviews:

🌞 A Castle of Our Own is soooo sweet!! -Maria

🌞 My husband and I watched "A Castle of Our Own" last night. It was enchanting! I can't even begin to express my sheer joy of seeing Brennan on my television screen, in a new movie. ❤️❤️ His presence was calming and I have to say we both really enjoyed this sweet little movie. Not a lot happened and of course there was a festival! But, we could look past that because there was a lot to like. There was no misunderstanding. And, it was so refreshing to see adults having mature conversations and young teenagers not being surly and disrespectful. All of the relationships were authentic. Erica and Brennan had a realistic and heartfelt connection. There was a playfulness, and a sincerity which emanated throughout the film. Their chemistry was sweet and just lovely. I have always held Brennan in such high respect and this movie made me love him even more. You could see the sadness in his eyes but that gorgeous smile of his still lit up the screen. I highly recommend this movie. ~Joan

🌞 A Castle of our Own is so cute! I love Brennan and sometimes it’s hard to get used to seeing an actor/actress we love with someone we haven’t seen them with before. I’m used to seeing him with Lacey, Brooke in Flower Shop Mysteries, those are my fave pairings with him. But I really enjoyed him with Erica! I also enjoyed the daughter and niece, the nice relationship with her ex husband, which is rare to see. I can’t imagine how people can actually build sandcastles that big and grand, but it was fun to watch! ~Paula

🌞 A Castle of our Own – This Summer movie was such an enjoyable watch! I thought Brennan Elliott and Erica Cerra’s chemistry together was really sweet – it felt real and authentic. Their banter often felt effortless, as if they were actually talking off-script.

Erica Cerra plays Marley, a single, divorced and overworked mother of a teenage daughter. And Brennan Elliott plays Adam, a guy who thinks he’s great at seizing the day, until he learns he’s been holding onto the past for way too long.

It’s sweet to see Marley gradually let go and take some time away from work to spend with her daughter and Adam.

It’s nice to see Adam release his previous relationship. (I couldn’t help from thinking of how much of Brennan’s own personal feelings were poured into this role and the incredible loss he’s suffered.) It was such a joy to see his beautiful smile and laughter on screen again.

The sandcastles they build are also fun to see. What an incredible process that is. This movie truly felt like a breath of fresh summer air!!! Net
