An all-new poster has been released for "When Calls the Heart" - Season 11 via Hallmark Media International!
I know this is a hot-button issue that charges many fans emotionally, and seeing Nathan and Elizabeth looking at each other so adoringly may be hard for some. And even though I've always liked Nathan, I'm not sure I'm even quite ready for this huge leap. How can Nathan trust Elizabeth again after having his dreams and heart trampled on so cruelly?
Unfortunately, the Team Nathan and Team Lucas fans will surely be divided once again, and I understand that feeling all too well. I've been there. I, too, have been crushed. But what I decided (long ago) going forth is... I'm not just a Team fan; I'm a fan of "When Calls the Heart," plain and simple. There's much more meaning to the show than whoever Elizabeth ultimately chooses.
Although, even when Elizabeth makes a choice, again, how are we to know this time if it is for real or for keeps? On no, there I go again!
So, I'm not watching "When Calls the Heart" entirely for Elizabeth or Nathan; I'm watching the show because I love the Hope Valley community collectively... Henry, Pastor Joseph, Minnie, Bill, Rosemary, Lee, Goldie, Faith, Lucas, Fiona, Hickam, Ned, Florence, Allie, Angela, Cooper, Opal, Little Jack, and more!
The love triangle is certainly a touchy subject among some WCTH fans, and I just hope those who are/were on either side can be civil to each other and simply enjoy this family drama series once again. We have so few shows on TV today that a family can sit down and watch together, so I'm hoping that part of it, too, will bring viewers back to the series.
Another interesting topic - is Elizabeth's short hair in the new poster. I wonder if this is her new look for the entire season? What do you all think of it?
"When Calls the Heart" Season 11 wrapped up filming in mid-November of 2023. Since that time, fans of the series have been awaiting premiere date news for Season 11. No date has been given, yet, however one might presume that Hallmark would follow the same pattern from last year and premiere the show sometime in late July, once again leading the series to run up until the holiday movies begin in late October.

As Season 5 of “When Calls the Heart” comes to an end, with all of its emotions, drama, and suspense… I thought this would be a good time to share my very HAPPY “When Calls the Heart” birthday celebration – from earlier this month! It is my birthday wish that you enjoy this special look at my celebration and it fills you with “hope” … From my cake and decorations… to my very “Elizabeth” looking dress… Let’s begin with my “When Calls the Heart” birthday cake… My Momma, Sister, and I had such fun making it together! (A.K.A. Abigail, Rosemary, and Elizabeth!)
The cake featured two layers, with gold frames picturing cast members, and small items that represent each character, by occupation, interests, and lifestyle. For instance, near Bill Avery you will find a guitar, type writer, and magnify glass… near Rosemary you will find a tea set, and next to Elizabeth, books, Jack, a red lantern, Abigail, an apron and mixing bowls, Opal, a bear named Brownie (of course!), Lee, a stack of wood and saw, Dr. Carson and Nurse Faith, a stethoscope and nurse’s hat, Clara, a sewing basket, and the children, a baseball bat & glove and a doll.
My sister, who is very much like Rosemary, found all of these amazing pieces; my absolute favorites are the beautiful white dress form and the Ford Model “T”! (I can just hear Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) in my mind saying… “Oh, Lee… You bought a car!”)
On the very top of the cake is the Hope Valley Church with a wagon and horses, and a grapevine heart to symbolize all the love in their little town. The second layer is covered with a quilt made of edible fondant and wafer paper, which was kind of interesting to piece together, at first, but in the end, I was amazed at how it came out so beautifully!
For the party, the cake was left intact and cupcakes (see below) were served… my Great-Grandmother’s Million Dollar Pound Cake… it’s a white cake, and most delicious! The recipe has been handed down -generation after generation! Come to think about it… this particular cake was most likely baked around the era represented in “When Calls the Heart,” by my Great-Grandmother, or perhaps, even her Mother! That very idea – makes it all the more special!
In each of the cupcakes, as you can see below, are cupcake-picks I simply printed out of various characters from “When Calls the Heart,” in heart-shaped cupcake wrappers - which you can get at Michaels craft store!
I just loved these little party tea cups - made of paper! They would be perfect for a little girl's tea party, too!
Here’s a bit closer look of the cake and the characters featured from “When Calls the Heart…”
All the ladies who attended the party wore beautiful white dresses, and the men, white dress shirts and casual pants. Two of the children surprised me by specially dressing up… one in a prairie girl costume, just like Opal, and the boy, a Mountie, just like Jack… with the red jacket, Canadian Mountie hat, and everything! It was so sweet! I loved and cherished every minute!
The moment I saw the dress I wore for the party, I simply fell in love with it! Thankfully, I was able to shop around a bit, and I found it at an incredibly reduced price! It was perfect... I felt just like I borrowed my dress from “Elizabeth’s” closet for the day and stepped right into Hope Valley!
These exquisite party plates (yes, they are paper!) and napkins were the perfect elegant touch for a “When Calls the Heart” celebration!
One of my birthday gifts was a sweet teddy bear, in honor of sweet Opal’s bear, Brownie! Isn’t he just adorable?
This sweet country church painting titled "Sunday Go To Meeting" (with actual lights that light up by timer every day - in each church window!) reminded me of the Hope Valley church, and not only was it beautiful décor for the party, but a truly lovely piece of artwork and conversation piece.
This church window below, made of wood and corrugated galvanized metal, from Hobby Lobby, is a wonderful magnetic board. I had such fun choosing which “When Calls the Heart” pictures to clip to the display!

My Momma and Daddy's old-fashioned distressed black frame, with gold hearts in each corner, was an ideal display for this cast picture of “When Calls the Heart.”
And, an overall look of the entire "When Calls the Heart" party table… with a chalkboard - where my sweet sister, who is a fantastic artist, wrote "Happy Birthday" so beautifully in chalk.

The latest project for Julie Sherman Wolfe is a sequel to one of last year's "Fall Harvest" Hallmark Channel movies, "Autumn in the Vineyard." If you were wondering what happens next with Frankie Baldwin (portrayed by Rachael Leigh Cook) and Nate DeLuca (portrayed by "Chesapeake Shore's Brendan Penny), then you must see this follow up story, "Summer in the Vineyard," which takes place, of course, back in the vineyard, where the Baldwin and Deluca families have been at odds for years. Let's hope this summer - there will be a happy, peaceful resolution for both families! They definitely need a Hallmark Happy Ending... which Julie, I must say, has been an expert at giving us!

Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: Congratulations, Julie, on your Hallmark movie “Summer in the Vineyard!”
Before we dive into questions about your new movie, please share with us the other Hallmark movies you have written!
Julie Sherman Wolfe: Thank you! I’ve written a few over the last couple of years – my first movie for Hallmark was “Hello, It’s Me” starring Kellie Martin, then two wedding movies (“The Convenient Groom” and “Wedding Bells”) and “The Birthday Wish” from January. I also have “Marry Me at Christmas” and “Finding Santa” coming in December.
I am so proud to be writing for Hallmark – a wonderful, joyful, safe channel for everyone… not to mention, they’ve single-handedly saved the Rom-Com genre (which is my writing Happy Place.)

Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: What is the plot/story behind your new movie “Summer in the Vineyard?”
Julie Sherman Wolfe: This is a sequel to “Autumn in the Vineyard” – we revisit Nate and Frankie (now co-owning the Sorrento winery) as they try to navigate the treacherous waters of being in a relationship with someone who is also your business partner. They work on finding that balance while at the same time launching their first vintage together at “Taste of St. Madeleine” – the biggest event of the town’s annual “Summerfest.”

Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: Since “Summer in the Vineyard” is a sequel to Hallmark Channel’s 2016 Fall Harvest movie “Autumn in the Vineyard,” was it challenging or easier to carry on this story, with characters who had already been established?
Julie Sherman Wolfe: It’s both, actually! It’s always easier to find the “voice” of a character when you know who the actors are, and what their characters were like in the first film. The challenge, though, is to find enough “new” conflict to drive the sequel.
Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: How thrilled were you to learn so many members of the original cast would be returning for the sequel… including: Rachael Leigh Cook, Brendan Penny, Jeremy Guilbaut, and Marcus Rosner! Did you visit the set and meet the cast?
Julie Sherman Wolfe: I was so happy to hear that so many amazing actors were coming back – they were all fantastic in Autumn, I couldn’t wait to write more for them.
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to visit the set this time (my son’s school performance/awards ceremony won that battle!), but I knew Marcus from “The Birthday Wish” and was keeping up with his (and the other cast members’) Instagram feeds. I made a specific promise to Marcus after Birthday Wish and was happy that I was able to keep it – but I can’t say what it is until after the movie airs! I’ll be tweeting about it though 😊
Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: Interesting! I won't spoil anything by sharing my guess, but I'm pretty sure all loyal Marcus Rosner fans, including #Hearties (who remember Marcus Rosner as Charles Kensington on "When Calls the Heart"), will know exactly what you mean!!!

Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: Do you, perhaps, have any favorite Hallmark movies? (Other than your own, of course!)
Julie Sherman Wolfe: I am a total sucker for the Christmas movies – actually it was one of my career goals to write a Christmas movie for Hallmark, and now I’ve written two! My long-time favorite is “The Christmas Card.” Makes me cry every time.
Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: That's one of my all-time Christmas favorites, too, Julie! I've seen it many, many times... and yet, each time it repeats, I'm always drawn in once again. Wonderful choice!

Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: Where do you find inspiration for your stories/characters?
Julie Sherman Wolfe: Well, sometimes the characters come to me as books that I have to adapt to screen. “Summer in the Vineyard” is actually a wonderful book by Marina Adair – but in her book, she’s using all new characters – and Hallmark wanted Rachael and Brendan back of course… so I had to figure out a way to blend the two. It wasn’t easy but in the end I think it turned out great. I hope the audience agrees.

Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: Do you have any news on future TV movie projects, premiering on Hallmark or elsewhere that you can share with us?
Julie Sherman Wolfe: I’ve been happily ensconced in the Hallmark Bubble for the last couple of years, but I still have a couple things available online -- last year a sweet indie tween movie I wrote came out (iTunes, etc) called “Jessica Darling’s It List” (based on the novel) – a few of the leads have done very well since (Chloe East was a regular on Liv & Maddie and Ashley Liao is currently on Fuller House. They were great kids!)
Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: That all sounds fun... plus, it's exciting to know, as you shared above, we can also look forward to TWO Hallmark Christmas Movies from you this year - “Marry Me at Christmas” and “Finding Santa”! That's incredible! And, these are your first Christmas movies for Hallmark... how exciting! I'm so happy for you!!!

Net, It’s a Wonderful Movie: What do you hope viewers will take away from watching “Summer in the Vineyard?”
Julie Sherman Wolfe: Well for starters, everyone is going to want to go to wine country in Vancouver because it is absolutely stunning! But as far as the story goes, my focus was that in love, you have to open yourself up and be vulnerable, and truly trust each other… which can be frightening for two people used to being in control. But if two people do open their hearts, and embrace that fear, there’s nothing they can’t handle as long as they do it together.

Here are my 2 cents...
The main dilemma for all of us devoted #Hearties and #POstables... is that on February 21st, 2016 the Hallmark Channel is airing the continuation of Season 3 of "When Calls the Heart" with Episode 2: Troubled Hearts at 9pm/8c. and at the EXACT SAME TIME, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is premiering the next movie in the SSD series: "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From the Heart".
How would Oliver solve this one???
Ugh!!! This is such a quandary! How can they make us choose between them? Unless you have a DVR that can record both at once, "the Struggle is Real"!

or maybe a love letter to Jack?
Loyal, faithful viewers will have to choose between the premiere of "When Calls the Heart" Season 3 and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: From the Heart" on February 21st, when both shows have repeatedly won our hearts over, time and time, again. No matter what we choose, there can be no clear winner... as our thoughts will surely also be with the other program we are missing, at the time.
(Sigh....) Oh, well... Tisk. Tisk. Honestly, I know this is not a huge dilemma, (just having a little fun with it!) and trust me, I am grateful to have both stations and the opportunity to decide between them, but Hallmark must know that many devoted #Hearties love "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and many loyal #POstables love "When Calls the Heart", myself being one of them!
I am curious... for those of you who are fans of these two shows and have both stations, the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, and if you cannot watch one & record the other, or record both, then, which one will you watch on the night of February 21, 2016?
