“Hello, It's Me”
Stars: Kellie Martin, Kavan Smith

Two years after her husband dies in a sudden accident, Annie (Kellie Martin) and her two children are left to cope with the loss. Annie can't imagine falling in love again, until she meets a wealthy bachelor who is drawn to her free spirit. Afraid to love again, she longs for guidance when she starts to develop feelings for this new man. Her prayers are answered when she starts receiving communications from her late husband that encourage her to follow her heart.

“Darrow & Darrow: Body of Evidence”
Stars: Kimberly Williams-Paisley, Tom Cavanagh, Wendie Malick

An earnest young policeman believes a local woman has been wrongly convicted of murder and turns to defense attorney Claire Darrow (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) and D.A. Miles Strasberg (Tom Cavanagh) for help. Laura Graham has steadfastly denied killing her husband Tom, but was unable to rebut the powerful evidence tying her to the crime. That evidence, however, did not include a corpse: Tom’s body was never found. As Claire and Miles’ investigation leads them down unexpected paths, Claire is increasingly certain of Laura’s innocence - and not at all certain that a murder even took place.

“An Hour Behind”
Stars: Emily Rose, Barry Watson

The time change and a case of mistaken identity result in a wonderful blind date for Trish (Emily Rose) and Parker (Barry Watson), but is it enough to keep them together?

“Undercover Bridesmaid”
Stars: Brooke Burns, Nicole Paggi, Justin Baldoni, Gregory Harrison

An agent, who was once jilted at the altar, goes undercover to protect a mogul's daughter, a bride-to-be, from death threats. But the agent soon finds herself embroiled with the groom's questionable, yet charming best friend, and unable to separate her bitter feelings from her past to survive this assignment. Between the aunt who is depleting the family scholarship fund, the playboy cousin with an inheritance at stake, and a very angry business partner, almost every wedding attendee is a legitimate suspect.

“A Feeling of Home”
Stars: Jonna Walsh, Nathan Dean Parsons

Host of a New England web series, Abby (Jonna Walsh) is set to launch her own line of home products. All she needs is a few more authentically northeastern webisodes and the deal is done. But Abby's roots are actually in Texas, and now she must return to her dad's ranch to help him. Surprised to find her former boyfriend Ryan (Nathan Dean Parsons) is the ranch manager, Abby is soon swept up in their old chemistry. Torn between her Texas roots and her New England aspirations, Abby must decide where she belongs - with work in the northeast, or deep in the heart of Texas.

“After All These Years”
Stars: Wendie Malick, Martha Burns, Andrea Martin, Gregory Harrison

After 30 years of marriage, a woman is shocked when her husband leaves her for a younger woman. This shock pales in comparison to the next surprise: finding him stabbed to death on her kitchen floor. When the police name her as their prime suspect, she skips town to find the real killer, and to save her own life. As she questions her ex-husband's inner circle, she finds unexpected allies and enemies - and a growing list of suspects. She must hurry to solve the mystery before the police - hot on her tail - apprehend her and close the case for good.

“Love Surreal”
Stars: Shiri Appleby, Nick Zano

A man (Nick Zano) falls for an art student (Shiri Appleby) who invented an imaginary boyfriend to cure her loneliness.

“Wedding Planner Mystery”
Stars: Erica Durance, Andrew Walker, Brandon Beemer, Chelan Simmoms

MY TAKE:

I have heard great enthusiasm over the new "When Hope Calls" series! In fact, many Hearties ("When Calls the Heart" fans) are most excited to see this new prairie series, with the addition of "WCTH" Hope Valley visitors, Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry), plus Lee and Rosemary Coulter (Kavan Smith and Pascale Hutton).

The rest of the Hallmark movies listed above, newly added to Hallmark Movies Now, are all ones I have seen, and are mostly appropriate for family viewing. I say mostly - because the mystery films are not always suitable for young viewers. Please use caution there. Also, "Hello, It's Me," with Kellie Martin and Kavan Smith is a sweet love story, but I want to foreworn, it has a somewhat odd super natural twist, that may be confusing for children.

At first, I wasn't certain I had seen "Love Surreal," but after looking it up, I realized it was previously titled "Everything You Want," and it initially aired on ABC Family in 2005 with a TV-PG rating. I recall it now with that title, and I remember the movie being strangely peculiar. I looked up some reviews from Amazon, which pretty much verified my memories of the film (see here). In short, they shared: this movie is mostly clean... cute with issues... a tad silly... a bit odd... with random inappropriate, out of context remarks..., plus, a pretend boyfriend who appears to be living with the lead girl.

The only film above, I've yet to see is "An Hour Behind," so I decided to also read some Amazon reviews on it. From what reviewers have shared, it appears to be a decent film for all ages, so I'm looking forward to watching it sometime - hopefully soon! Barry Watson, who plays the leading man, has been a favorite of mine since his days on the family drama "7th Heaven." He also starred in the Hallmark movie, "Kiss at Pine Lake." The lead actress is Emily Rose, of Hallmark's "The Thanksgiving House."

Those of you who subscribe to Hallmark Movies Now, or are planning to, it looks like there will be lots of wonderful films, in addition to "When Hope Calls" to look forward to in September! Enjoy!

Blessings! Net

Carnegie Kincaid (Durance) is a wedding planner and a perfectionist - in both work and romance. When a murder occurs and a bride (Simmons) is kidnapped surrounding the wedding of a prominent family embroiled in a high profile fraud scandal, Carnegie becomes a suspect. She is questioned by police and pursued by shady news reporter Aaron Gold (Walker). To make matters more terrifying, Carnegie is pretty certain whoever is responsible for the crime is out to get rid of her. As she struggles to clear her name, Carnegie is hounded by a hard-boiled detective (Ravanello) and wooed by a handsome lawyer (Beemer). With her life exploding into a whirlwind mix of danger, mystery and romance, Carnegie begins to realize that love does not always arrive in a pretty package and that the perfect “Prince Charming” she’s been waiting for may not have her best interests in mind.

“Wedding Planner Mystery” is a Reel One Entertainment Production.

Movie Review:

In Wedding Planner Mystery, Carnegie Kincaid may help brides and grooms tie the knot, but can she unravel herself out of murder?

As a wedding planner, Carnegie is used to fixing last minute pre-nuptial mishaps… so when she becomes a “person of interest” in a murder investigation... Carnegie must play detective and fix it herself.

The Parry family, wealthy and influential in the community, has hired Carnegie Kincaid to plan the wedding of Diane Parry, one week, and cousin Nicky Parry, the next… with the hopes that cousin Michelle Parry, will soon follow. However, Michelle sadly is killed in an automobile accident during Diane’s wedding reception. Suspecting the car, owned by Nicky, was tampered with, the police deem it to be murder, and Carnegie, for various reasons, becomes their main suspect.

From there, Carnegie isn’t sure who she can trust. The Parry family, Nicky’s father Douglas and stepmother Clara, reassure her that they want her to continue to plan their daughter Nicky’s wedding, but can Carnegie manage it all, as she keeps her business barely afloat with her partner Eddie, investigates this mystery with her best friend Lily, dates the Parry’s lawyer Holt Walker, denies interview access to an annoying, but increasingly intriguing Press Writer Aaron Gold, and all-the-while dodging bullets, break-ins, and failed brakes, herself?

It’s a fascinating mystery for anyone who loves solving clues and guessing who-dun-it!

See... if you enjoy a good mystery!
