Happy National Day of Prayer!

Blessings to you all on this National Day of Prayer!

As we mark this special day, let's come together in harmony to pray for our nation and those who lead it.

Today, we unite our hearts nationwide, offering prayers for restoration and revival.

By humbling ourselves before the Lord, we have faith that He hears us and responds with love and grace.

Prayer transcends a simple moment; it’s a call for God to engage and intervene in extraordinary ways.

My prayer...

Dear Lord, Jesus... I pray that you will restore and heal our land.

Help us come together in seeking You first and foremost.

I lift up my dear family, friends, and those who lead over us, and I pray for a hopeful, bright future.

May peace fill our hearts and extend throughout our nation and around the world.

I pray many will discover the true joy and serenity in knowing and trusting in You, Lord.

Thank you, Jesus, the Lamb of God, for taking away our sins and for your sacrifice that offers us redemption.

You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

In Jesus' mighty name,

Amen.

If you have a prayer request, please share in the comments below. My family and I have been praying about a challenging situation, and we recently witnessed the Lord's powerful intervention, knowing without a doubt, that His grace guided us through. And I pray the same for you.

The images above are from "When Hope Calls" Season 2, Episode 3. At the end of the day, the orphan children knelt in prayer, giving thanks to the Lord for their home and safety. This beautiful scene touched my heart deeply. May we all be thankful for the blessings we have and trust in Him, especially when we face life's many challenges.

God bless you all...

Praying for Peace in Ukraine

My heart is breaking as I watch the news. Like many of you, my prayers are going out today - to the innocent people in Ukraine, whose country is being attacked. I know there are many scared and hurt people right this very minute. They are confused and don't know where to go. Please, Lord, help them to escape to safety, wherever that may be.

I know there must be many, many prayer requests, but I saw this specific one on Twitter this morning and I wanted to ask you all to join me in prayer for this brave family - in the face of danger...

@sarahrlacour requested prayer for:

"If you need specific names to focus your prayers for Ukraine, please pray for my friends Tanya and Andre and their family. Tanya and the youngest children are evacuating and helping the disabled childrens home evacuate. Andre + oldest son are joining the army and fighting."

The image above is of Christians who joined in prayer, out in the snow and bitter cold in Ukraine, praying and fasting over their country. Let us join our Christian brothers and sisters in prayer during this critical, difficult time.

If you know someone who needs prayer or if you'd like to give your thoughts on what is happening, as well, please share in comments below.

I fear, this is just the beginning with Ukraine. There will be more dictators who seek power and land-grabs elsewhere after this. Ukraine is weaker today, and sadly, America is, as well. Please, also join me in prayer for the future of our country and the world.

God bless you all, Net

Psalm 91:

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.

8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;

10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.

12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

Happy Thanksgiving Week!!! Enjoy a Feast of Christmas Movies while We Count Our Blessings...

On this Thanksgiving week I want to first express how thankful I am to The Lord for being extra close to us this year. 2020 has not been an easy time for the world, but we know our God is always working in mighty ways, even when we cannot see it.

As I sit around my Thanksgiving table this year, along with being extra grateful to be surrounded by my precious family giving thanks to our great and merciful God, I will also be thinking of all of you, yes YOU!, my dear *It's a Wonderful Movie* family and friends. No matter where you are on this Thanksgiving Day - my heart and prayers are also with you! You'll never know how much you are appreciated; I truly value each of your support, love and encouragement all year long. Our common bond of shared values has brought us all together, and I'm so honored by your visits to my blog. However you found your way to It's a Wonderful Movie, I'm certain The Lord brought you here - so we could all be friends... and family!

This Thanksgiving week as you are baking and hopefully able to gather with family and friends, you may want to save a little room for the Hallmark Channel's extra helpings of Christmas movies- for the 7 night Thanksgiving Week Movie Event hosted
once again by Candace Cameron Bure!

I'm sharing highlights of what's airing this week, Monday through Friday, below! (By the way, if you're not full enough, yet, I'll have a new post at the end of this week with all of the weekend Christmas movie premieres, including the new ones with Candace and Lacey Chabert!)

As we celebrate Thanksgiving this year, I think this scripture expresses beautifully where we are right now... “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Isn't that powerful? It always touches my spirit. The hardest part is to not pick up our worries, and simply put our trust in Him. I have to remind myself that every day - and to be thankful for ALL things.

My prayer for you dear friends...

Our Heavenly Father, I ask you Lord to be near us today, to gather with us at our Thanksgiving table, to fill us with your perfect peace. I Thank YOU for first loving us and giving Your life on the cross so we can be forgiven of our sins - when we call upon Your Name! May the challenges we've faced this year renew our faith and deepen our devotion and love for You and others. Thank you Lord for all of our blessings! In Jesus Name. Amen.

You may have noticed that I did not include the Tuesday night Thanksgiving week premiere. As a believer in traditional marriage and Biblical values I will not be promoting "A Christmas Tree Grows in Colorado" since learning it's subplot will include a same sex couple. I wanted to be certain you all were aware of this as you are watching Christmas movies this week possibly with your families.

If you'd like to check out Movie Reviews for the NEW 2020 Christmas Movies from the *It's a Wonderful Movie* friends & family - see that post *here*!

You can also see my Christmas TV Movie Schedule - *here*, which includes NEW Christmas Movie Premieres and Christmas classics.

Also, please know - I have NOT pre-screened these NEW Christmas movies listed above. If you happen to watch one of the new Christmas movies this week and want to share whether or not it is a family friendly movie, please stop back by and leave a comment. I know everyone here would be grateful to know any information you are willing to share.

I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy many delightful Christmas movies!

Thank You All for Your Prayers...

I want to say thank you all, again, for your heartfelt prayers. We were feeling hopeful for my Aunt’s recovery, but my precious Aunt Margaret passed away and into the arms of Jesus today. As I write this, I can hardly believe it still. My family and I are heartbroken, so please continue to lift us up in prayer.

Thank you for your love and support.

Update on my Precious Aunt and a Thoughtful Message from Hallmark Actor, Paul Greene...

Thank you all for your continued prayers for my precious Aunt. I feel the love and support of this dear "It's a Wonderful Movie" family, which means the world to me.

Each day she is a miracle, defying the odds the doctors have set before us. She fell on Friday and hit her head causing a brain bleed.

My aunt lives alone, but she has children, grandchildren, and siblings who check in on her, from time to time. However, since this occurred early in the day and many of them were at work, it could have been many, many hours before she was discovered. But the Good Lord had another plan. On Fridays, my aunt drives a neighbor/church friend to get her hair done, go shopping, out to eat, and pick up groceries, etc. Well, when my aunt didn't show up at their scheduled time, her friend became worried. She thankfully called their pastor and they went to check.

From there, my aunt was taken to the hospital, where we learned there was bleeding in her brain. She had stopped breathing in the ambulance and was put on a ventilator. The doctors said the bleeding was in the middle of the brain and there was nothing they could do surgically. They didn't give us much hope, at that point, but we didn't give up, we were all still interceding for her healing. I'm so grateful for each and everyone who said a prayer, too.

On Saturday, the doctors advised my cousins to remove their Mother from the ventilator, informing them she would most likely only live 10 minutes after doing so. The family all gathered around her singing praise songs and hymns. 10 minutes passed... 20... 30... and so on... and now nearly 48 hours have passed, and she is still breathing on her own- Praise God!!!

She looks comfortable as she is resting and I know this time is healing. Each step, each day has been a miracle, thus far, and I know there are many steps to go...

My family and I keep repeating the same scripture- that has given us great peace throughout this difficult time... "With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." ~Matthew 19:26 (NKJV)

When all of this first happened, I recalled right away that this similar event happened to Paul Greene's mother. (Paul Greene of "When Calls the Heart") I remembered praying for her and Paul when it occurred, and being so happy, rejoicing with their family when she recovered. Knowing Paul's mother was able to overcome this, gave me and my family such great hope. My Momma suggested reaching out to him and his Mother for prayer, so I sent a prayer request through my friend Ruth Hill, who I knew could get the message to Paul. Ruth responded right away and let me know she would be praying, along with Paul and his mother (a prayer warrior, as Ruth called her), with all of us. And Paul, so graciously and giving, sent the most beautiful, encouraging voice message to my Sister through Instagram, to play for my Aunt. Paul's reassuring, calming voice was telling my Aunt she could get through this, many people are praying for her; it is possible. It was such a precious moment when we played that message for her in the hospital; everyone became silent all at once and gathered around to listen. I just know if my Aunt could've responded at that moment, she would've been overwhelmed and elated by Paul's sweet message. She just loves "When Calls the Heart" and all the Hallmark movies. From now on, Paul will always have a special place in my families' heart. And as we all listened intently to Paul's message, who plays a physician on "When Calls the Heart," it was a comfort knowing our hope is in The Great Physician.

My aunt's condition is the same today, but we are beyond grateful she continues to breath on her own. Family stays by her side 24/7, and she is never alone. And we know The Lord has been by her side every moment along the way.

Thank you all for your continued prayers. If you would like to add her name to your prayer list, her first name is Margaret.

Praying for Texas, Ohio, and America...

To all the people of El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio... please know I send my prayers and my deepest sympathies to each and every one of you.

On Saturday afternoon, as we learned the terrible news in Texas, my heart went out over and over again to each family tragically touched by this horrible event. And then to wake up Sunday morning and learn of the news in Ohio, another horrific senseless tragedy, my heart broke all over again.

Throughout the weekend, I watched the news on and off in disbelief. To think such a terrible thing happened on a bright sunny Saturday afternoon as people innocently went to their local Walmart for groceries, etc... is so hard to fathom. When I would turn the station back to Hallmark, to my peaceful, blissful world of escape, with all my heart I wished every one could turn the channel and everything would simply be okay.

God's Blessings to our police, who are always there to serve and protect, our fellow Americans and EMT's, who were there to help at the scene and the doctors, who are still attending to the wounded. This is such an awful, senseless tragedy for our country, an incredibly sad weekend.

Our American flag flies now at half staff as a symbol of our nation's mourning and respect. Praying for all touched by this.

Take care and be safe everyone.

God's Blessings to you all, Net

Praying for our Country

Out of respect for the lives lost in Las Vegas last night, the worst mass-shooting in American history, I have decided to not post anything movie related today. My heart is breaking for the innocent people who were simply attending a country music concert with friends and loved ones; I know many of us are earnestly praying for their grieving families now and those who are still injured, in body and spirit.

God's Blessings to those who ran toward danger to help their fellow mankind and made the ultimate, heroic sacrifice. This is such an awful, senseless tragedy for our country, an incredibly sad day.

Praying for all touched by this.

Take care and be safe everyone, Net

Praying for Boston

Hearing about this terrorist attack on Boston, at the Patriot Day Marathon, was devastating... an attack on our Country, our beloved USA, our fellow Americans. And, then to hear three had been killed, including a very innocent 8 year old boy - was absolutely heartbreaking.

Then, we personally learned that some of our relatives were there, as well. They had trained for a year and were running the race. No word had been heard from them since the bombing took place and cell phone service had been cut off. It was hours later when we learned that they were all right. My Aunt was in tears, crying with relief. My heart ached for those who did not receive the same call... for those who were not coming home that night.

Our Prayers go out to the Victims families, the Wounded, the Survivors, and all of the Rescuers. God bless them. We pray for their physical and mental well-being.

God Bless America!

Prayers for those in the Heartland

Like many of you, I have seen the various news stories on TV covering the devastation the Tornadoes and storms left behind when they struck on Friday, March 2nd, 2012. I watched a lot of the Weather Channel, trying to see if it was anywhere near where my family lives, and I am personally blessed to share that all of my family is fine, however my Aunts neighborhood was not. Her home was not damaged, although many of her neighbors homes were. I can't imagine what they are going through there, but I do know my Aunt and Uncle, who are such giving people, will do whatever they can to help their friends and neighbors.

My prayers go out, especially, to those who lost loved ones... and some, everything they have ever known. I saw an older woman on the weather channel - she was sitting on a porch looking bewildered and still in shock - and she said she was just 'glad to be alive'. It makes you feel so grateful and puts everything into perspective. God bless her and so many just like her.

Please, everyone - pray for these people, do what you can to help, and protect yourself and your families by purchasing a weather-alert radio, if you don't already own one. It could save your life.

God bless you all...

Prayers for those in the Path of Hurricane Irene

As I flip my TV - back and forth from the Weather Channel & Fox News today... I've been watching where the storm is heading and how bad it is for those who have homes or businesses on the east coast.

Please be careful, if you are in the path of Hurricane Irene. My Prayers go out to all of you who have left your homes and especially for those who chose to stay behind. If your area was evacuated, I hope and pray many heeded that warning.

Buildings can be replaced - people cannot. Please be safe, everyone!

God bless you all.
