Who is MR. MIRACLE ? ... Answer Revealed!

Doris Roberts as
Mrs. Miracle
Many of us have loved the Hallmark Channel Christmas Movies Mrs. Miracle  and Call Me Mrs. Miracle which star the ever delightful Doris Roberts (Everybody Loves Raymond, Remington Steele) as the nosey, yet very helpful nanny or employee, Mrs. Merkel, that was often mispronounced Mrs. Miracle.

So, I know many of us were thrilled to learn that this Christmas Season- 2014, Hallmark would bring to us a new version, "Debbie Macomber's Mr. Miracle".

The next question, of course, is...
Who will portray Mr. Miracle?

My Guesses:

My first guess was Cameron Mathison (The Christmas Ornament). I had heard he was filming a Hallmark Movie with Sarah Lancaster (Fir Crazy). But, then it was revealed they were filming Man Maid. So, I knew it couldn't be him.

Then I thought, maybe they would choose someone a little older, like Doris Roberts. So, I guessed then they might, perhaps, go with Dick Van Dyke. He had been scheduled to be on Signed, Sealed, Delivered, but that didn't work out, at the time. However, since I knew Hallmark was in touch with him, and he has starred in other Hallmark movies, I thought... hmmm... maybe?

I also guessed Kevin Sorbo (God's Not Dead, Abel's Field) who shared in an interview, he would be working on another Hallmark project and I also guessed John Corbett (Ramona and Beezus, A Smile as Big as the Moon) since he has starred in other Hallmark movies.

Alas, all of my guesses were off the mark. Well, I guess John Corbett was pretty close, as you'll see! A press release came out today revealing the true identity of the new Mr. Miracle.

Would I have guessed this actor? No.

Am I familiar with his work? Yes. Some of it.

Is he a member of the Hallmark family? To my knowledge, No.

So, who is he? Who is Mr. Miracle?

Here's an Excerpt from the Hallmark Press Release, with all the details:

Hallmark Channel announces Golden Globe® and Emmy® nominated actor Rob Morrow (“Northern Exposure,” “Numb3rs”) will star in “Debbie Macomber’s Mr. Miracle” a Hallmark Channel Original Movie, now in production in Vancouver to premiere Holiday 2014. The charming Christmas story stars Morrow as a naïve but earnest heavenly angel who ditches his wings to walk the Earth on a mission to help an insecure college student gain confidence to embrace a promising new future. Morrow co-stars with Michelle Harrison (“Continuum”), Britt Irvin (“Packages from Planet X”), Sarah-Jane Redmond (“Da Vinci’s Inquest”) and Andrew Francis (“Max Steel”). “Debbie Macomber’s Mr. Miracle” continues Hallmark Channel’s partnership with beloved bestselling author Debbie Macomber and is part of the network’s COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS, the #1 most treasured holiday destination by television viewers.

“We’re very excited to once again partner with our beloved Hallmark family member Debbie Macomber to bring to life another one of her magical stories as part of our popular holiday season lineup,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President of Programming, Crown Media Family Networks. “The immensely talented Rob Morrow is perfect for the role of Mr. Miracle, a surprising and often eccentric character whose heartfelt mission will inspire our viewers this Christmas.”

When guardian angel Harry Mills (Morrow) arrives on Earth for the first time, he’s got a lot to learn about life as a human. But this miracle worker-in-training ignores the advice of his heavenly mentor, Celeste (Harrison), to eagerly take on his first assignment—helping a young woman named Addie (Irvin) find the confidence to change her life. Addie has always struggled in school and is currently feeling overwhelmed and indecisive trying to live up to her father’s expectations of becoming a doctor. Now, after her father’s sudden passing, Addie is living with her mom Sharon (Redmond), filled with regret and uncertainty while attempting to finish her degree all while avoiding her childhood nemesis, Erich (Francis). Enter Harry, posing as her fumbling, well-meaning new English teacher who takes on the task of guiding her to see the wonderful things she can’t see in herself. With a deadline of Christmas day to change Addie’s perspective, or else say goodbye to his own Earthly existence, Harry is clueless but endearing in his effort to make Addie open up to a life full of promise—and even love—while learning a few life lessons of his own along the way.

So now, let me ask you... what do you think? Would you have guessed this actor? Are you familiar with Rob Morrow's work?

I remember him mostly on Northern Exposure with Janine Turner and John Corbett (one of my guesses, by the way!).

Does this movie premise remind you of another movie? I thought of Cary Grant in The Bishop's Wife immediately.

Now, I would love to know what you think of this news. Please share in the comment section below!

A Smile as Big as the Moon
(Hallmark Hall of Fame)

ABC

PLOT:

from Hallmark Hall of Fame:

Mike Kersjes is the name of a real special-education teacher (and football coach), in Michigan. Mike doesn’t talk down to his “special” students. He respects them, and he believes they’re capable of achieving great things.

Mike hears about Space Camp, a competitive education program at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. Even though it’s designed for gifted science students, Mike decides participating in the summer program would do wonders for the self-esteem of his young students, one especially who wants to be an astronaut.

He faced incredible obstacles in trying to make his improbable dream become an inspiring reality. At first, school administrators refused to buy in. The folks who ran the camp were less than encouraging; they’d never had a group of special ed kids apply before. Trying to raise the money to pay for the trip was a nightmare. The kids even put on a carwash!

But it was after they were finally given the green light that the real challenge began. How to get kids with Down syndrome, Tourette’s, learning disabilities and emotional problems to leave their baggage behind, to coalesce into a team, and to tackle a bunch of extremely smart students from top schools around the country?

After 9 months of rigorous training preparation the class molded itself into a working team where they turned in a performance so startling, so surprising that it will leave you breathless.

Mike Kersjes had an impossible idea. Yet he made it happen. A truly triumphant story of the power of the human spirit. You won’t want to miss it!

Ramona's vivid imagination, boundless energy, and accident-prone antics keep everyone she meets on their toes. But her irrepressible sense of fun, adventure and mischief come in handy when she puts her mind to helping save her family's home.

Movie Review:

This movie is a great family film made for the Theater, that is actually rated "G".

Ramona and Beezus follows the misadventures of young grade schooler Ramona Quimby from Beverly Cleary's popular children's book series.

I clearly remember the Ramona Book Series as a little girl... I always looked forward to seeing it in our weekly reader list. My favorite was Ramona the Pest.

This is such an adorable FUN - FAMILY - FRIENDLY FILM!!! Kids will love it and grown-ups will, too! It has something for everybody and is so entertaining every single second! Great casting and especially loved Joey King as Ramona - she's ideal for the role!!!

It's a super funny and cute kids "G" movie - while it also has a little bit of romantic comedy, too! Ramona and Beezus is filled with color, imagination, and life!

Christmas Movies Coming to TV for 2010

Christmas Movies for 2010 – Confirmed, Rumors, & Puzzle Pieces!

HALLMARK CHANNEL:

The Hallmark Channel was the first to announce Two Christmas Movies they will be airing in November.

The first movie is...

The Night Before The Night Before Christmas - November 20, 2010 Saturday

The whimsical tale of a family trying to save Santa and the annual tradition of delivering gifts on Christmas Eve.

Click here for more details. Stars Jennifer Beals.

The second movie is...
Debbie Macomber's Mrs. Miracle 2 - November 27, 2010 Saturday

It's Christmas in New York City and Mrs. Merkle is a sassy saleswoman in a family-owned department store that could use a little holiday magic.

Click here for more details. Stars Doris Roberts from Everybody Loves Raymond.

By the way, I personally loved the original Mrs. Miracle movie that premiered in 2009, so I'm truly looking forward to this one!

HALLMARK HALL OF FAME:

This is the Movie – I have found details about, slowly, like a Puzzle with many Pieces.

I found out, in late June / early July... that Hallmark was doing auditions for a new Hallmark Hall of Fame Christmas Movie titled November Christmas.

The Storyline: The parents of a little girl with cancer overcome their personal issues to celebrate Christmas early so their daughter may enjoy it.

Then I happened to catch an interview (on July 16th) of John Corbett (well known from Northern Exposure, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, etc...) and he mentioned that he had just been cast in a Hallmark Hall of Fame Christmas Movie with Sam Elliott, and they would be filming for the next 6 weeks in Halifax, Canada.

It is stated on the audition forms that “November Christmas” will be filmed in Halifax, Canada. All the puzzle pieces seem to fit!

Immediately, however, when John Corbett  mentioned Sam Elliott’s name – my eyebrows raised. Sam Elliott played the father in the original “Prancer” Christmas Movie and John Corbett was in the 2nd movie in that series, "Prancer Returns". This movie, unfortunately, doesn't have anything to do with the Prancer Movies, which I personally love. I know many fans would enjoy a third movie.

For now, this is the only information I have on “November Christmas”. Stay tuned...
Please e-mail me if you know anything more.

*UPDATED INFORMATION-
Click Here for Main Cast & Movie Details for November Christmas!

ABC FAMILY:

Rumors...

I have heard that for ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas they are doing Sequels for 2 of their popular movies – Holiday in Handcuffs and Snow and Snow 2: Brain Freeze.

The two new movies would be Holiday in Handcuffs 2 and Snow 3.

Holiday in Handcuffs 2 is said to star Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez with Josie Bissett and Molly Ringwald according to information obtained previously at Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holiday_in_handcuffs#Sequel

I haven’t found this information to be confirmed, yet, by ABC Family... So, it is not a guarantee... just something I happened to hear. We’ll have to wait and see!

UPDATE #1 (August, 2010) : Still No Word on these movies. I don't honestly think they will happen this year, but that is only my guess!

----

Enjoy your Summer, Everyone! I'll be sure to keep you posted if I happen to hear any more news!

Please e-mail me if you hear or see anything else, as well!

God Bless You All !!!
