Hey there, Christmas movie friends! ✨πŸŽ„⛄

The weekend is here, bringing another cozy, joy-filled round of Christmas movie premieres! We’re three weeks into the holiday movie season, and though this year’s lineup has a few fewer new premieres, there’s still a wonderful mix of classic favorites and fresh new festive films to enjoy!

This weekend brings us *two* brand-new Christmas movies and *two* exciting new episodes of "Mistletoe Murders"! (Don’t miss my review of these specific episodes below!)

Over on Great American Family, they’re rolling out the red carpet for the royal premiere of "A Royal Icing Christmas," while the Hallmark Channel is forecasting snow, romance, and laughs with "Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper!," which looks to be an amusing comedic story about a weatherman who reconnects with his high school crush!

Keep scrolling for all the details on these new premieres, plus a new *non-holiday* rom-com from UPtv, a classic Christmas movie marathon set in the country on Hallmark Mystery, and all of the festive fun below!

Friday, October 24, 2025:

Season 1, Episodes 3 and 4:

Peril of the Belles - Part 1
After a string of suspicious accidents, Emily goes undercover in the local choir to investigate. Sam, however, remains skeptical. Violet takes on more responsibility at the shop.

Peril of the Belles - Part 2
When the choir attacks escalate, Emily and Sam grow closer as they work together to find the culprit. Emily helps Violet out of a precarious situation by tapping into her dark past.

Review:

πŸŽ„ Mistletoe Murders – (episode 3&4) Each murder mystery in The Mistletoe Murders series are written to cover 2 episodes, so it’s basically like watching a movie. The 3rd and 4th episodes were mostly family-friendly for a show that revolves around murder. These types of shows are best suited for pre-teen age and up.

Cautions: A woman who was killed in a car “accident,” was thought to be having an affair with a man who is in the local choir. This same man is questioned by Emily (Sarah Drew’s character), and when she asks if he was involved with her, he says something like, "She’s not my type," and Emily says, "Blonde?" and he simply says, "Woman." Nothing else is said, but we get the point. There is another murder near the end of the 4th episode.

Overall, I love the sweet relationship between Emily and Sam, and his teenage daughter, who is a breath of fresh air. The Christmas shop is darling, and it was nice to hear the choir sing Christmas carols in these episodes. ~Net

Episodes 3 & 4
Airs Friday, October 24, 2025
at 8pm/7c and 9pm/8c on the Hallmark Channel

This year, Ted has made up his mind that things will be different – this will be the Christmas things turn around for him. But Ted's relentless optimism is about to be put to the test as he is faced with a litany of injuries and obstacles when he travels back to his hometown of Lackawanna, N.Y., for the holidays. Within hours of arriving at his sister Kate's house, he finds himself making a trip to Urgent Care after falling off a ladder while hanging decorations. While there, he runs into Ruth Mittens, his former high school science teacher, who was always his cheerleader. He also reconnects with the charming Hope Miller (Sustad), except now she's Dr. Hope Miller, with whom he went to high school and quietly crushed on from afar. Ted is optimistic that this budding romance is the beginning of his Christmas comeback, but his looming holiday bad luck still has a few curveballs in store for him. Luckily for Ted, he won't have to face them alone – he'll have the support of Kate, Ruth, and Hope to help him overcome the challenges thrown his way and finally enjoy a well-earned merry Christmas."

❤️ Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, Hallmark has a New Valentine's Day Movie This Weekend for You!

Hello Friends!

Are you ready to take a ride this weekend with Lacey Chabert and Robert Buckley in their new Hallmark Channel movie, An Unexpected Valentine? This is Hallmark's first Loveuary movie premiere for 2025, and what better day to premiere it than on the first day of February!

The Hallmark Channel also has a special treat with this premiere - a full day of Lacey Chabert Hallmark movies, including All of My Heart, The Wedding Veil, My Secret Valentine, and more!

Unfortunately, Great American Family will not have a new movie premiere Saturday night; however, the network is playing their classic rom-com movies all day Saturday and Sunday, and a block of Winter-themed movies will air Saturday evening, including Winter Wedding, Fall Into Winter, and The Winter Palace.

UPtv will also have classic movies airing all weekend long, with a new episode of Heartland on Sunday night. In this episode, Amy must deal with her daughter Lyndy's sudden fear of horses.

The Hallmark Channel will finish off the weekend Sunday night with a brand new episode of When Calls the Heart, which finds Mountie Nathan Grant going undercover in James Bond fashion style. The 1920s, also known as the "Roaring Twenties," was a time known as the era of prohibition, so Nathan may likely find himself at a speakeasy surrounded by potential suspects. Will he be successful at uncovering clues to the elusive train robbery mystery? Only time will tell.

See details for this new programming and more below...

********************

I hope you all have a pleasant weekend.

I'm sure most of you have seen the horrific aviation accident that occurred this week. It is profoundly sorrowful to observe the victims of this devastating event on our televisions and social media platforms. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family members and friends who mourn their passing.

For those of you who wish to step away from the heaviness of the news, I hope the movies and shows I have mentioned in this post will bring some levity to your weekend.

I am eagerly anticipating the release of Lacey's new Valentine movie Saturday night, An Unexpected Valentine. She and Robert Buckley seem like such a fun pairing. The chemistry between her and Robert Buckley in the promo alone is quite enjoyable! He has consistently excelled at infusing humor into the romantic comedy genre, in contrast to many romantic comedies that tend to focus more on romance than on comedic elements. So, I am optimistic that this will be a fun one!

I'm also very much looking forward to this all-new episode of When Calls the Heart! Whenever Rosemary, Bill, and Nathan are involved in a mystery, it instantly elevates the level of intrigue for me! Plus, Nathan looks mighty handsome going undercover. Am I right, ladies???

Please Note: I have not pre-screened the new film set to premiere this weekend. If you wish to provide a review regarding the family-friendliness of this movie, kindly share your thoughts in the comments section below. Thank you in advance to everyone who shares with us.

Blessings to you all!

An Unexpected Valentine

Premiere Date: Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 8/7c.

Storyline: A chance encounter on Valentine's Day brings Hannah and Finn together as they race through New York City to return a lost engagement ring and save one couple's special day.

Starring: Lacey Chabert and Robert Buckley

Movie Reviews:

❤️ An Unexpected Valentine is safe, and very charming! (Anthony Timpano and Viv Leacock are in this movie too). –Maria

❤️ An Unexpected Valentine was one of the Best romance movies that I have seen in a while, and it's family friendly and a keeper. -Namegirl

❤️ “An Unexpected Valentine” - We liked this one. Lacey and Robert were adorable together. And, that fake “proposal” scene had me laughing out loud! Seriously Robert’s reaction was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. 😊 I thought it dragged a bit in parts, but overall, it was sweet and clean. ~Joan

❤️ I just wanted to leave a quick review of An Unexpected Valentine, which I enjoyed a lot more than I expected. I agree that it's family-friendly with one tiny caveat - during the pizza-making class the chef is talking about the importance of spicing up a relationship and there are two guys cooking together in the background nodding and agreeing with him. Could be innocent, but knowing Hallmark, it probably wasn't. I did have a few other issues with the movie, but just stupid stuff like them continually complaining about the Manhattan traffic that just wasn't there, him always able to park right in front of any place he was stopping at, and when it was raining and they were standing out in it for minutes having a conversation with a cop but no one gets the least bit wet. Like I said, nothing big, nothing affecting the story line, just a lack of attention to detail on the producer's part that really irks me. ~Sharon

❤️ Sharon, I feel the same way about this movie. It was enjoyable, with some really good funny scenes, and Lacey and Robert had great chemistry together. But poor production - I too noticed that there was a definite lack of traffic in Manhattan, and how Robert was always able to park in front of the building where he needed to be (and the street was usually deserted)! Also, nighttime seemed to last forever, yet they were able to get to their events around their 9:30 timeframes. The other thing that bothered me was how easily it was for them to find whoever they were looking for! So, it's a fun watch...if you don't get bogged down in the details. ~Mark 25

❤️ An Unexpected Valentine is a delightful movie that will have you laughing out loud at times! The fake proposal was hilarious! It is family friendly with the exception of the pizza cooking class. Two guys cooking together and the talk about spicing things up I believe was in Hallmark fashion intentional "woke"! The story line is so different. Not someone going back to their hometown 15 years later and running into their old flame! That story line has been done "to death"! Lacy and Robert had great chemistry too. Also has a couple of cameos with Anthony Tinpano and Viv Leacock. I do love the cameos that Hallmark surprises us with. ~Joyce in Carolina

❤️ An Unexpected Valentine - I expected to love this, and I absolutely did! What a ride! It's such a fun movie from start to finish, and family-friendly, too! Lacey Chabert and Robert Buckley are such a delightful pairing! The banter between them is the best! Please, please... more lighthearted, carefree rom-coms like this!!!! ~Net

The Wish Swap

Premiere Date: Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 8/7c.

Storyline: When CASEY and HENRY find themselves celebrating their birthdays at the same restaurant, they make birthday wishes at the same time which are granted. However they end up getting each other's wishes.

Starring: Emily Tennant, Jake Foy

Movie Reviews:

❤️ The Wish Swap is definitely the best movie of this month's lineup by far, it's THAT good!! -Maria

❤️ “The Wish Swap” was quite enjoyable. We did not know what to expect and even if we would like it. However, it turned out to be a cute movie. Emily and Jake had great chemistry. I also liked Emily and Crystal’s friendship. It was lovely and believable. It was nice seeing so many actors/actresses we have grown to really like over the years. Glad to see a storyline that was unique.~Joan

❤️ I'm not sure if anyone has left a review for The Wish Swap - I wasn't able to find any. I did not see or hear any issues regarding LGBTQ content, but there were several occasions where "the universe" was brought up. That might bother some people. ~Karen

❤️ The Wish Swap – This movie is a mix of delightful fun and fantasy. The story concept is cute and refreshing. Two total strangers meet at a restaurant, blow out their candles at the exact same time, and suddenly their wishes start coming true… only they’ve swapped wishes! It’s such a cute twist, and watching it all play out is just pure fun. The dancing scenes are a treat, and overall, it’s an easy, feel-good watch. ~Net

Return to Office

Premiere Date: Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 8/7c.

Storyline: After making the return to the office on a hybrid schedule, two coworkers known to each other only as Ms. Monday and Mr. Tuesday start sending friendly notes, sparking an office romance.

Starring: Janel Parrish and Scott Michael Foster

Movie Reviews:

❤️ Hi everyone! "Return to Office" was all kinds of cute. :-) Yes, the plotline has been done before in two of my all time favorite movies "The Shop Around the Corner" which, by the way, we watch every Christmas and "You've Got Mail". But, we really enjoyed this sweet movie. I did not like their boss but I liked everything else about it. Great Chemistry between the leads; interesting secondary characters and a relevant storyline. I also work in Corporate America and my company we are required to adhere to a hybrid schedule. We don't share desks but we all have to be in the office three days a week unless the weather is bad as it has been recently in my hometown. I am much happier working remotely. Anyway, enough about me! My husband and I will be watching WCTH tonight and the GAF movie tomorrow night. ~Joan

❤️ Anyway, last night I watched Return to Office, with its You've Got Mail jibe, and while there was nothing earthshaking, it was enjoyable with great acting by Janel Parrish and Scott Michael Foster. –Mark25

❤️ Return to Office is family friendly about Parody to You Got Mail; Shop Around the Corner & Fox & Son Bookstore. When 2 co workers named Liv & Tom return to the office on hybrid schedule as they’re known each other only as Ms. Monday & Mr. Tuesday start sending friendly note, sparking an office romance as they share the same desk. (Spoilers may be included in this review) Liv volunteers at Senior Center, she meets Judie is Tom’s Mother & Lori as they’re doing quilts. Judie tells Liv about her Son; Thomas. Tom is nicknamed for Thomas. Liv or Livvy is nicknamed for Olivia. Ms. Monday is more like Joe Fox & Mr. Us more like Kathleen Kelly gonna meet each other at Enclave Restaurant. Liv is Ms. Monday is at the restaurant where Tom is as Mr. Tuesday. Liv texted Tom that she could make it. When the two talk each other at the restaurant? Tom is Mr. Tuesday follows the arrows in notepads & waiter when he finds out Ms. Monday is Liv at Enclave Restaurant. ~Anonymous

❤️ Return to Office – This movie was rather cute in a ‘The Shop Around the Corner,’ ‘In the Good Old Summertime,’ and ‘You’ve Got Mail’ kind of way.

In the beginning, the employees are meeting over zoom and the boss announces that they will return to office 2 days a week alternating and sharing their desks. So the person who uses it on Monday, Liv, starts to write a note for the person who uses the desk on Tuesday, Tom. Although they know each other from the zoom calls, they have no idea who they are communicating with in the notes. The simply call each other Ms. Monday and Mr. Tuesday. This, of course, is such a cute story concept, like the classic movies I mentioned above.

At the beginning, the office notes seem to drag on a bit as they write numerous times back and forth, but things eventually pick up from there. The chemistry between the leads is sweet and satisfactory; however, at times, both seem more infatuated with the mystery person they are writing notes to, than each other in real-life , which is interesting since more and more people are relating via their computer screens than in real person to person social contact.

Anyway, the best part of the movie for me was two supporting cast members: Tom’s mother and her friend, who live at the local assisted living facility, where Liv volunteers. These two women were absolutely delightful, offering heartfelt and wise relationship advice to both Liv and Tom. Their presence was warm and endearing, and they never overstepped; instead, they gently nudged the two toward recognizing their true feelings for each other.

The ending wraps up fairly quickly, but I loved the way they added in the cute dialogue at the end referring to Monday and Tuesday once again in such a clever way. Overall, this is a family-friendly movie and a delightful watch. ~Net

Sisterhood, Inc.

Premiere Date: Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 8/7c.

Storyline: Corporate exec Megan starts a board of directors to improve her younger sister's chaotic life and finds romance with a psych professor who uncovers her tough demeanor.

Starring: Rachael Leigh Cook, Daniella Monet, Leonidas Gulaptis

Movie Reviews:

❤️ Well, my husband and I tried to watch "Sisterhood, Inc." and all I can say is we stopped watching after about fifteen minutes. Let's just say it was not a good movie which pains me because I really like Rachel. I could write two paragraphs about how bad the movie was. ~Joan

❤️ Sisterhood, INC – While I generally enjoy Rachael Leigh Cook and Daniella Monet in their other Hallmark roles, this particular film just didn’t excite me. The storyline felt far-fetched and failed to draw me in.

The idea of creating a panel who votes on decisions on someone else’s life, an adult who should be able to make their own life decisions, was more silly than charming. In fact, it felt absurd and, frankly, a bit patronizing.

So, the concept is… the older sister assembles a board to essentially “remake” her sister’s life and they vote on how she should look, what to wear, how to fix her hair, job decisions, and who she should date, etc... Maybe I missed something, but I kept wondering– Why do these people care? Are they being paid? (Surely not by the unemployed, irresponsible woman they were remaking) Who exactly chose them all? Are they truly successful in their own lives?

While I appreciate Hallmark's efforts to be creative and I liked that this movie was family-friendly, this story concept just didn’t work for me. I was hoping to enjoy a movie about sisterhood, but I struggled to stay interested. ~Net

HALLMARK MYSTERY:

Premiere is at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Reality Bites: A Hannah Swensen Mystery

Premiere Date: Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 8/7c.

Storyline: Hannah’s favorite reality show takes over The Cookie Jar. When the producer is found dead, Hannah and Norman team up to track down the killer. Chad invites Hannah to court.

Starring: Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster, Gabriel Hogan, Barbara Niven, and Tess Atkins

Movie Reviews:

❤️ I hope they are more creative upcoming mystery movies as Hallmark removed so many good series!! I did watch Hannah Swansen mystery the mother is somewhat over the top. I mean extremely! ~Anonymous

❤️ Hannah - I want to know where Bill is?? Why is he not with Andrea??? I’m like everyone else I don’t like the new series. I love Alison and Victor but they just don’t work in this series. He’s to business like and not relaxed like Mike was. It’s just not the same series!! ~Anonymous

❤️ I honestly do not like posting negative reviews but my husband and I were really disappointed with the latest Hannah Swensen Mystery. But, in all honesty, we haven't liked any of the recent Hannah Swensen Mystery movies. We enjoy Victor and Alison as actors but not together. There is no spark. It pains me to see Alison reduced to a whiny and unsure woman instead of the strong woman she used to be. Plus, Barbara overplays Delores now. I mean seriously overplays her to the point that it is distracting. I so miss Lisa and Cameron! We are huge fans of the Murder She Baked Mystery series and we even own the DVD set. But, I don't think we are going to invest any more time in the Hannah Swensen series. These movies just leave me cold and disappointed. ~Joan

❤️ The Hannah Swenson Mystery Reality Bites was not worth it. I miss the old Murder She Baked. This new series has been going downhill since the first HSM and getting worse and worse. I agree with Joan. There is no chemistry between Hannah and Chad, he’s so boring and Hannah seems desperate. Not her usual self. Her mother is the worst part though. Way to overkill, with her shallowness and stupidity. And the setup with the director/sound was off balance. Been that way since they restarted the series. The only good things were family friendly and Norman had a lot of scenes. There is a fantastic guy for Hannah. ~Abigail
