Mercy Me, known as one of Christian music's most loved and best selling bands, hit #1 on nearly all the charts with their song "I Can Only Imagine" in 2003. This deep and inspiring song with it's message of faith, touched the hearts of many. Since then, Mercy Me has had 26 more songs (including their recent song, "Shake") reach #1 status. Mercy Me had a previous Christmas Album in 2005, titled "The Christmas Sessions." 

According to hallels.com, "Multiple Dove Award winners and contemporary Christian band MercyMe will be releasing their brand new Christmas album "Mercy Me, It's Christmas" on October 9."

Danny Gokey, contemporary Christian singer and American Idol alum, is also in the process of creating his upcoming Christmas album, fresh off his hit album last year "Hope in Front of Me".  (I first heard this news through the My Merry Christmas Forum.) Danny released a few details of it on his Facebook page - as well as a clip of him singing "O Holy Night". Check out the Facebook link - the song is beautiful!

Jeremy Camp, contemporary Christian musician and songwriter, was part of the KLove Christmas Tour last year, and he released a Christmas CD in 2012 titled "Christmas: God with Us". Recently, Jeremy shared via twitter - that he has recorded a Christmas song with his daughter - that she wrote! (She is adorable, by the way - pictured below!)

That Spirit of Christmas

Although Christmas has passed and there aren’t any more Christmas Movies on TV, I feel we should keep the Christmas Spirit alive in our hearts... so, I am sitting by the fire side and listening to one of my favorite Christmas CDs from 2013!

The CD is by... (drumroll please!)…  “Sidewalk Prophets”. They are truly fantastic and I am not biased one bit just because my cousin happens to be good friends with one of the group members!

If you love The True Meaning of Christmas, Charlie Brown, and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, then you will love the Sidewalk Prophets Christmas CD titled: “Sidewalk Prophets : Merry Christmas to You”. It starts out with Linus reciting his famous line of “What Christmas is all about” and then it transitions into this awesome original song titled “What a Glorious Night”.

The entire CD is a wonderful mix of Christmas Classics and New Originals! "White Christmas" is so fun, with the lovely voice of Francesca Battestelli, and I love the song “That Spirit Of Christmas”… which is from the “Lampoons” Movie,  the one that is played when Clark Griswold is sitting up in the attic reminiscing about Christmases past. What can I say… “It’s truly amazing”!

And, while most of the CD is upbeat, the true meaning of Christmas is certainly celebrated throughout. I just love every song on the album, including the Title Track “Merry Christmas to You”! By the way, there’s a cute little ending to this song that all Christmas Movie Lovers will enjoy!  So be certain to listen closely – even to the end!

Hopefully many of you can join me and grab this CD and hold onto “That Spirit of Christmas, all through the year…”!

NBC announces Christmas Specials with Michael Buble and Kelly Clarkson

NBC has announced: Michael Buble and Kelly Clarkson are set to star in upcoming hour-long Christmas Musical Specials.

Michael Buble's holiday special will feature him singing some of his most popular songs. He also will invite some of his favorite guest performers.

I believe this will be Michael Buble's third year - having a Christmas special on NBC.

*Michael Buble's Holiday Specail airs Wednesday, Dec. 18 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

Kelly Clarkson's program, currently not titled, will be based loosely on Charles Dickens' classic novel "A Christmas Carol." In the special, Kelly's character will learn the true meaning of Christmas!

Clarkson also has a new Christmas CD release, titled: Wrapped in Red.

*Kelly Clarkson's holiday special airs Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

"Duck the Halls" Christmas CD - featuring the Robertson family of Duck Dynasty

We were so excited when we first learned in the early part of June that the cast of Duck Dynasty would be creating a Christmas CD. It seems our entire family enjoys their half-hour shows on the A&E network, their personal stories, funny moments, faith in God, commitment to family, and Hey, .... Uncle Si!

A Christmas CD - with the cast of Duck Dynasty!

Available: October 29, 2013

CD to be released through Universal Music Group Nashville.

*The creation of this Christmas CD was first announced at the CMA Music Festival (pictured above!)

Duck Commander CEO, Willie Robertson told Entertainment Tonight, “Faith, family and ducks — in that order — have always been our priorities. Christmas is an important holiday for us not only because of our strong faith but also our holiday family traditions. We’re having a great time making this album. Korie Robertson added, "The whole family is going to be involved. It'll be kind of a variety show-style music CD, and we've got some surprises for you. So it's going to be a lot of fun." (info via: examiner.com)

So…. Who exactly will be participating? From information we have gathered on the internet – it looks like the entire family will be involved to some degree – from the oldest to the young ones, too! Singing on the CD, will be: Willie, Korie, Jase, Missy, Phil, Miss Kay, Uncle Si, and the rest of the Robertson family… including the grandkids!
