💕 Warm Your Heart This Weekend with New Movies, Christmas Classics, and When Calls the Heart...

Hello, friends!

Another weekend is upon us! Is it just me, or is it amazing how much time has already passed since Christmas? Only 2 more weeks left in January! And... I must admit, my family and I are still watching leftover Christmas movies!!! In fact, I've been meaning to add more Christmas movie reviews, and if you'd like to share some, too, please feel free to do so. I know many of us are still trying to play catch up with the Christmas movies we missed over the holidays.

Each season of the year brings it's own special uniqueness and beauty! This winter, however, has been exceptionably cold for us here in the Midwest, so I've appreciated the beauty more from the indoors, than when I must be out in it, as we do chores around our farm. We attempted to build a snowman, but the snow was just too cold to pack or roll. Funny enough, you actually need a little warmer weather, around 30 degrees. (Yeah, that is considered warm for us these days!)

Currently, we have a good 3-4 inches of snow on the ground, and we are anticipating, maybe, a couple more inches coming our way soon! Then, next week, we are expecting the extreme Polar Vortex. Brrrr!!! Is your area receiving it, too? Even the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump in Washington, D.C., which historically has taken place at the West Front of the Capitol, is moving indoors to the Capitol Rotunda due to severe weather concerns for Monday, January 20th. I think that was a very smart decision. I'm praying anyone who is outside will be able to find shelter in these bitter cold days to come.

If your weather is also frigid, then this weekend is definitely the right time to stay in, keep warm, and enjoy a good movie or two!

See my suggestions below...

I hope you all have a nice, enjoyable weekend. Be well, everyone. I've had lots of extended family members have the cold and flu, lately, so I know it is going around something fierce... so be sure to take care all.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie on Great American Family. I love the story premise of searching for the owner of a valuable china piece. That sounds very interesting. It kind of reminds me of two Hallmark Christmas movies I love, The Christmas Ring and A Little Christmas Charm.

For all of you "Heartland" fans, don't forget, UPtv will have the second episode of Season 17 on Sunday night at 7pm/6c.

Also, on Sunday night... I'm looking forward to the new episode of "When Calls the Heart." I really appreciate the way the importance of family and faith has been woven into this season. I'm hoping we will see even more faith elements. I've included a video clip of one of my favorite scenes from last week's episode below. I hope it touches your soul as much as it has touched mine.

Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movies or TV series episodes premiering this weekend. If you'd like to post a review on whether these films are family-friendly, please share in the comments below. Thank you so much to everyone who shares with us.

Keep warm this weekend, everyone.

Blessings to You All!

Movie Reviews:

📷 A Snapshot of Forever - I have seen this movie via streaming, and I recall it being a nice, lighthearted movie, cute, and family-friendly. ~Net

📷 A Snapshot of Forever (youtube) I watched this recently and I believe it was family friendly and a sweet story ~Anonymous

📷 A Snapshot of Forever is a nice little movie. Super handsome leading man who I recognized from Hallmark and good chemistry. Christie

📷 A Snapshot of Forever – This was a sweet little movie. The lead actress was seriously adorable! I really liked her. And, lead actor was super handsome, as Christie pointed out! 😊 They were a nice match and they had good chemistry. Most of the supporting actors were good too. It took some time for the movie to draw us in but when it did, my husband and I were hooked. I want to go bowling at a place that has milkshakes and comfy couches! I want to visit a winery with breathtaking views! Yes, we had to sit through another overused plotline, but the movie was so cute that we were able to get past that. –Joan

(2021)

Premieres: Saturday, January 18 at 8pm/7c.

Starring: Erin Agostino and Luke Humphrey

Storyline: After realizing one of the “gently used” items in her secondhand store is actually an antique teapot worth $80K, Rose McGovern finds herself the sights of Joe Burnsides an ambitious antique broker. He’s determined to buy the teapot from Rose, but she refuses to sell until she can find the original owner.

Movie Review:

❤️ Aw! "A Priceless Love" was such a cute movie. I am really becoming a fan of Erin. She is a natural actress. She had good chemistry with the male lead. And, I wish I owned every single piece of clothing she wore throughout the movie. Every outfit was adorable. Plus, I would love to visit a vintage store like that. I know I would be really old now, but I always felt I was born in the wrong decade. I have always been drawn to vintage clothing, items, movies and songs from the 30's and 40's. :-) ~Joan

February, 2025 Movies:

For the Love of Chocolate
(2021)

Premieres: Saturday, February 15 at 8pm/7c.

Starring: Rhiannon Fish and Jesse Hutch

Storyline: Preparing for the annual Masters of Chocolate Festival, Aria’s plans are rattled when she loses her partner shortly before the festival. However, the dashing single father Rhett steps in just in time to help Aria find the winning ingredient. In their search, Aria and Rhett discover that the missing ingredient for the perfect chocolate is not so different than what they’ve been missing in their lives: a dash of love!

Movie Reviews:

❤️ Reel One's For the Love of Chocolate is a fantastic movie!! -Maria

❤️ For the Love of Chocolate (youtube) I liked the storyline with the leads. It was sweet! But I didn't appreciate the sister's storyline. Her boyfriend wants her to move in with him and in the end he gives her keys to a house he bought for them. Too bad they had to add that part! The rest of the movie was great. ~Anonymous

❤️ For the Love of Chocolate - I streamed this movie through Roku - I believe last year. Like Anonymous said above, the sister storyline wasn't my favorite. She continually talks about whether or not she should move to the city to be with her boyfriend with no talk of marriage. I wouldn't be surprised if GAF edited this out. Also, I really like both Rhiannon Fish and Jesse Hutch, but I wasn't sure I felt a strong connection between them in this; however, both played very likable characters. The subject is chocolate, so of course, it's still a sweet movie! ~Net

❤️ As much as we wanted to love "For the Love of Chocolate" we only watched about fifteen minutes and ended up deleting the movie. I so love Jesse and Rhiannon but not in this movie. We were bored and could not get into the movie at all. So sad! ~Joan

Karen Kingsbury’s Someone Like You

Premieres Saturday, February 22 at 8pm/7c.

Starring: Sarah Fisher and Jake Allyn

Storyline: After the tragic loss of his best friend, a grieving young architect sets out to find her secret twin sister, who was separated from her sibling when she was just an embryo.

Movie Reviews:

❤️ I didn’t like Someone Like You. The main guy in the movie Dawson initially likes this girl named London, but after she dies suddenly, he discovers she has a secret twin sister Andi who was conceived through in vitro. Dawson sets out to find her. He hardly takes time to grieve for London. Then he develops feelings for Andi. It’s all quite complicated. Andi, who is adopted, quickly turns her back on her adoptive family when she finds out they hid the truth about her birth. There are so many troubling aspects of this movie that it's hard to mention them all. It's just not good. Melissa

❤️ They lost me when he started falling for the dead girls sister all within like a span of a month. It made me feel really uncomfortable. Anonymous

❤️ And I highly recommend Someone Like You. Ignore the negative reviews, they are never kind to most faith based movies. –Maria

❤️ Maria, I agree with you! Someone Like You is a beautiful movie. I loved everything about it. If left me with an uplifted spirit to see a real love story instead of some passing fluff. If the DVD is ever available, I would love to buy it. ~Anonymous

❤️ Sorry Someone Like You was not for me. Too sad. 😢 Allie B
