Turn back the Clock on Christmas!

Thought I would share today... two of the Christmas movies airing this week - if you are seeking some of the joy and merriment from the Holiday Season!

Christmas Fridays...

January 28, 2022:

First, enjoy this time-travel movie with stars from 'Back to the Future'...

Angie (Fonseca) wonders what her life would be like if she had married a former boyfriend who became a famous sportscaster. She takes the train home to spend Christmas with her family and inexplicably finds herself 10 years in the past. With the advice of the train’s enigmatic conductor, Angie has the chance to revisit that Christmas and learn what – and who – is truly important to her.

Christmas Saturdays...

January 29, 2022:

Then, design the perfect Christmas with Jill Wagner and Nick Bateman in GAC Family's...

In “A Christmas Miracle for Daisy,” Whitney Alder (Wagner) owns interior design firm Marietta Designs, which she runs with her friend Andi (Tegan Moss, “Aurora Teagarden Mysteries”) in the small town of Marietta, Montana. Whitney is designing Santa’s float for the annual Marietta Christmas Parade when a potential job opportunity comes her way: the full redesign of a landmark home by Christmas Eve. Despite the challenge, Whitney and Andi sign onto the job - only to discover the home’s new owner is Whitney’s ex-boyfriend, Connor Sheenan (Bateman), who has moved to town from Los Angeles with his bright-eyed, young daughter, Daisy (Rubi Tupper). Connor had no intention of becoming a family man, but when his goddaughter is orphaned, he adopts her and commits to becoming a devoted single dad. More than anything, Daisy wishes for a mom to complete her picture-perfect family, and no prospect is as perfect as Whitney. Tall order, but Christmas is a time for miracles.

INSP Announces New Cowboy Docudrama "Freedom on the Range"

My friends at INSP e-mailed this latest news to share with all of you...

PRESS RELEASE VIA INSP:

INSP TEAMS WITH AL ROKER ENTERTAINMENT
ON SPECIAL TO CELEBRATE
THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF
AFRICAN AMERICAN COWBOYS

The Historical Docudrama Freedom on the Range
Will Debut on Saturday, February 26th at 8PM ET

(Indian Land, SC – January 27, 2022) General Entertainment network INSP, the recognized leader in Western and Western adjacent programming, today announced the premiere date for its new special featuring the contributions of African American Cowboys to the American West.

Freedom on the Range is an original INSP docudrama produced by Al Roker Entertainment, and is set to premiere on INSP on Saturday, February 26th at 8PM ET. The announcement was made by Craig Miller, VP of Original Programming & Development for INSP.

“The significant contributions of African American cowboys in the shaping of America have largely gone unnoticed,” said Miller. “In Freedom on the Range, we pay tribute to these unsung groundbreakers by telling the true stories of some of the most courageous trailblazers that helped tame the American West. While these are not household names to most of us, their stories are fascinating and need to be told as part of our nation’s history. This is a show that audiences don’t want to miss.”

A celebration of the frontier spirit, Freedom on the Range is a one-hour special that highlights five legendary Black cowboys who helped tame the Old West: Nat Love, Bose Ikard, Bass Reeves, Bill Pickett, and George McJunkin. These men made their way to the Western Frontier and discovered a new sense of freedom that allowed them to rise above the legacy of slavery and transcend the color barriers of their time. Nat Love penned a best-selling autobiography, and Bose Ikard became the inspiration for a beloved character in a famous Western novel. Bass Reeves transformed himself into one of the West’s greatest lawmen, Bill Pickett became an iconic rodeo star, and George McJunkin made what turned out to be one of the country’s most significant archeological discoveries. These heroes continue to inspire a new generation of Black cowboys who are keeping that frontier spirit alive and well.

Miller continued: “It’s been a pleasure working with Al Roker’s team on this project. They really dug into the material, researched this little-known part or our nation’s history, and made sure the stories were told with accuracy, authenticity, and impact.”

"I grew up in an era when westerns ruled TV; Bonanza and Gunsmoke were must-watch TV, and then later, films like Buck and the Preacher, with the late Sidney Poitier," noted Roker. "Since then, I've been captivated by the role African Americans played in shaping this country, post-Civil War. When I was approached to have my team at Al Roker Entertainment tell the true stories of America's black cowboys, I jumped at the opportunity to set the record straight and give accurate historical context to these courageous pioneers."

Freedom on the Range premieres Saturday, February 26th at 8PM ET on INSP.

New Hallmark Channel Movie Announced with 2 Actors from ER...

Hallmark announces new romantic comedy, via Deadline.com, titled "A Second Chance At Love" starring Alvina August, Jarod Joseph, (pictured above on the right) and ER alums, Gloria Reuben and Eriq La Salle (pictured above on the left).

This is the storyline given at Deadline: "In A Second Chance At Love, on the surface, Alicia (Alvina August) and Arnold’s (Jarod Joseph) marriage is picture perfect, however, there is something amiss. Arnold is ready to grow their family, but subconsciously Alicia is hesitant to the idea. Rather than face the problem head on, Alicia, the self-proclaimed “love doctor,” immerses herself in her divorced parents Jack (Eriq La Salle) and Brenda’s (Gloria Reuben) dating affairs by setting them each up on a blind date dating app."

"A Second Chance At Love" is slated to premiere Saturday, March 26 at 8 PM on Hallmark Channel.

"Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made" - Now Available on DVD!

It's official! The last "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" movie (thus far!), "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made," is part of the NEW "Signed, Sealed, Delivered DVD Collection: Movies 9-12"! You can now add this treasure of a movie to your DVD collection - to make it complete!

I'm so delighted to see this powerful, engaging film on DVD - that explores a mysterious lost letter tied to a little boy's hero and a very special, emotional, heartwarming event: Oliver and Shane's wedding day!

After this movie premiered last year in October, I shared a review, plus I was deeply moved by the many wonderful reviews from friends who visit here...

MOVIE REVIEWS:

“Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Vows We Have Made” was pure perfection! The importance of spirituality, the feelings of uncertainty, the closeness of friends, like family, the flashbacks to previous “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” movies… all of these precious moments touched my heart – over and over again! The wedding ceremony was beautiful, sacred, and spiritual! I was so blessed by the vows Shane and Oliver exchanged – repeating phrases from Ruth in the Bible – “Your people shall be my people and your God will be my God…” Once again, I was moved to tears!" "The Vows We Have Made took my breath away. Perfection is the only word that comes to mind. If we had one of these movies every week, it would not be enough. Oliver and Shane's wedding vows! Oh my! The lady who played Shane's mother was wonderful in her role. To hear our Lord honored, as SSD has always done, was a blessing to me. I'm so blown away by this movie; words can not describe my feelings this morning. Looking forward to comments here." ~kitkat

"I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the Vows we have Made SSD movie. I was so happy and they kept the faith aspect and they even had some references to past movies/show and clips. I felt like it was perfectly normal that Oliver would be worried about Shane or any person leaving him cause so many have in his life. I love so much when Shane said "I will never leave you". The writing on this series is so good, they always bring up past stuff and dont just leave you hanging like other movies that have sequels or continuations do. The thing is Shane did try and quit, or leave twice, and she didn't cause I believe deep inside she knew she was where she should be. I remember back on From Paris with Love, how she was looking in on Oliver and Holly and saying please don't kiss her. You knew even back then how much Shane loved Oliver. I absolutely loved the wedding vows, how they said them over each other, how beautiful they were. I know for Oliver it was hard to have faith that someone finally wont leave him, but he did and I love how at the end they were all looking at the letter they found saying they have time to go see where it belongs. “Net, I agree completely, 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered' would be a perfect example for Hallmark to follow! You are actually the reason my family and I found Signed, Sealed, Delivered! Thank you!! We had heard of it before, but never watched it, then I found your blog a couple years back and saw how much you loved it, we instantly fell in love with every minute of it too!! We were counting down the days with everyone else waiting for the wedding last weekend, and it did not dissapoint! To put it mildly, it was perfect!” -A Fellow Brother in Christ-

"I finally watched the SSD "the vows we have made" movie. Net, when I read your review above in this blog post I was moved to tears once again. I read your review right after finishing the movie and boy did you nail it with that review (the other reviews are spot on also by others). The movie was fresh in my mind as I read your review and your review moved me soooo much. You really hit the heart of the matter. Now, for the movie. Oh my!!! As Net put it..."pure perfection". Most times there is a build up for something like a movie which never seems to live up to the expectations. You hear so many good things and you get such a high expectation and then it most always lets you down. Not this time. This movie was amazing. When Shane told Oliver she would never leave him and then they started to play the song, "Never my Love" I was absolutely destroyed through that whole scene...Wow!!! And the wedding was ridiculously charming and absolutely lovely and heart warming. So much scripture. So much love! The whole SSD series is remarkable but this movie practically brought me to my knees because I was so moved. (click here to read more) ~Jim

Just reading all of these incredible reviews again - makes me sense the emotional power of Martha Williamson's words in these four Postal workers - searching for the home to these lost letters: Oliver (Eric Mabius), Shane (Kristin Booth), Rita (Crystal Lowe) and Norman (Geoff Gustafson). It's fascinating to watch their endearing friendships and romantic relationships slowly develop over time throughout the series - leading to both their wedding days.
