PLOT:

Life would be perfect for Reverend Casey Hart (Samaire Armstrong) if it weren’t for her leaking baptistery and the match-making parishioners who steal money from the collection box and don’t believe a woman should be a minister. Not to mention Casey is flustered by the sudden, inconvenient feelings she has developed for her long-time friend, fellow seminarian and verbal sparring partner, Reverend David Swenson (Brenden Penny). It isn’t until Casey is thrust into the position of senior minister for her church that she discovers the real cause for her discontent – her fear of failing might be stronger than her faith in herself. With a little help from her other best friend and seminarian Ronnie Mason (LeToya Luckett), can Casey reclaim her confidence while reconciling her clerical robe with high heels and the right shade of lipstick? A fun-loving look at a single girl’s life on the other side of the altar, Heavenly Match is also a hilarious and joyful celebration of strong, stylish, and faithful womanhood.

via UP-- My Other Mother marks the fifth film to be produced and air on UP as a direct result of the network’s highly successful “UP Faith & Family Screenplay Competition,” now in its fourth year. The script is by Keronda “KiKi” McKnight, the Winner in last year’s UP Faith & Family Screenplay Competition at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF).

In My Other Mother, Candace “Candy” Meyers (Essence Atkins) is a successful anchor on a top-rated national magazine show. Fiercely independent and committed to her job, Candy doesn’t make many friends with her demanding, gruff nature. In fact, her only true friend might be her long-time manager Lewis (Kendrick Cross). Candy discovers that an anonymous fan she’s had for years has passed way – and he was her biological father Freddy Nelson! Content with the love and support of her adoptive family, Candy has never been curious about her biological parents. That all changes when she travels back for her father’s funeral, meets the Nelson family – including biological uncle Abner (Greg Alan Williams), Freddy’s wife Delores (Angie Stone) and her two step-brothers – and discovers that her reclusive, angry and stubborn birth mother, Mary Jo (Lynn Whitfield) is going to be a challenge. The journey these two surprisingly similar women take getting to know each other will break down walls and open them up to a life they never knew was possible.

Remembering Richard Attenborough, best known as Santa Claus in Miracle on 34th Street

In our hearts, and memories, many of us shall always cherish actor Richard Attenborough in the 1994 re-make version of Miracle on 34th Street, as the beloved character, Kris Kingle, a kind jolly man, who brought such joy to children and grown-ups, alike. His legacy will forever live on in his films, and for Christmas Movie fans, he will always be the ideal Santa Claus.

"Sir Richard Attenborough was the only Santa Claus I ever believed in. A wonderful man. Still in shock right now. May he rest in peace."

Richard Attenborough leaves behind his wife, Sheila and their three children Jane, Michael, and Charlotte.

My heart felt condolences to the Attenborough family and friends.

It simple feels like Christmas!

In Christmas in July, an unemployed dreamer, Jimmy MacDonald thinks he's won a big radio slogan contest, worth $25,000. It's just like Christmas day, when he buys gifts for family and friends, and an engagement ring for his girl, Betty. ....And, just when everything seems to be going great and Jimmy is on top of the world, he is informed it has all been a mistake!

Christmas on July is also available on DVD
