Hope You Enjoy The New Premieres, Movie Marathons, & More This Weekend - SEE HERE:

Hello, Friends!

I certainly hope many of you will be able to relax at the end of this weekend on Sunday evening with the new premiere episode of "When Hope Calls" on Great American Family! I know many Hearties are rather excited to have this family show fill the void of "When Calls the Heart" season 12 now being over on Sunday night. (And, yes, I am one of them! Could you tell? Haha!!!)

I watched "When Hope Calls" via streaming last night on Pure Flix, and I can tell you that the first episode is such a beautiful, heartwarming story. Once you revisit Brookfield, you almost feel like you never left. Certainly, there are new characters, but they are gradually eased into the story, along with MANY familiar faces from the first season. It warmed my heart seeing everyone again, and I look forward to watching the first episode again Sunday night! (Yes, it's that good!) I highly recommend this series for family viewing!

Don't forget, there's also something special for "When Hope Calls" fans Friday night, too! (And even more for Canadian viewers on Sunday!) I share more below.

In addition to this, the Hallmark Channel will have a new Spring in Love movie premiere Saturday night, and movie marathons with three actresses we especially love here... Jen Lilley, Cindy Busby, and Candace Cameron Bure! (I love how Hallmark does these marathons with specific stars quite often; these three stood out to me this weekend, so I thought I would share.)

See all of the details below.

Friday, April 4, 2025:

In part 1 - a Christmas festival worthy of Harper's Bazaar happens in Brookfield as the community is one of three contenders in the magazine's search for America's #1 Country Christmas Town. The entire town is preoccupied with creating the essence of Christmas for the photojournalist's lens, though, behind the scenes, residents are not living the spirit of the season. In the midst of the fuss, a stagecoach appears, and out steps Abigail Stanton and her son, Cody who have brought a troubled boy to Lillian's orphanage.

In part 2 - photojournalist Paul Franklin is wrapping his research on the community of Brookfield as a contender for America's #1 Country Christmas Town. By now, Paul blends in as the town prepares for Christmas Eve. Lillian, the orphans, and Gabriel are running out of options to restore the troubled boy's hope for better times. Just when all seems lost, a secret Santa appears to fulfill all holiday wishes, and Abigail has a profound conversation with a dear friend from the past. Meanwhile, Paul's lens is recording every miraculous moment.

Catch these special holiday episodes Friday night before Season 2 begins on Great American Family this Sunday...

I hope you all will have a nice weekend ahead. I know many in the heartland will face challenging stormy weather and potential flooding, so please stay safe and avoid driving through flooded streets. My area is also expecting strong winds and heavy rainfall. It feels like every time I check the news, they’re predicting even more inches of rain. I’m hoping for the best and praying it won’t be as severe as anticipated, but we’re preparing just in case, and I’m sure many of you in this region are, too. Take care, everyone, in this area... my prayers are with you all.

Please Note: I haven't pre-screened the new movie premiering this weekend on the Hallmark Channel. If you wish to provide a review, please share your thoughts in the comments section below.

And one last reminder... don't forget to set your DVR now for "When Hope Calls"!

Blessings to you all!

Movie Reviews:

❤️ I did watch Hearts Around the Table--Jenna's First love--It was pretty good. I like Mishael Morgan so I wanted to give this series of movies a try. I can't wait to see her movie next week. I love how the family always gets together for Sunday dinners and how close they all seem to be. I am looking forward to learning more about the others. You only get a glimpse of them all in Jenna's story. I think you see Shari more, so will be interested in Kiki and Josh too. Love seeing Mondy Cohn too. ~Sabrina

Starring: Jake Epstein, Stephanie Bennett and Mindy Cohn

Storyline: Josh, the beloved math teacher and track coach, and Ella, the dedicated English and music teacher, find themselves on opposite sides of a school funding debate—until an unexpected partnership reveals they might have more in common than they ever imagined.

Movie Reviews:

❤️ Josh's Third Serving is safe, and quite the sweet movie! Looking forward to the last movie -Maria

❤️ … My husband and I really enjoyed the third installment of the “Hearts Around the Table” movie series. I normally don’t care for Stephanie, but she was so lovely in the movie. And I really liked Jake and her together. They were adorable. Plus, I loved Mindy’s character even more in this installment. Really looking forward to the final installment of this movie series. ~Joan

❤️ I have to say, I really enjoyed the Hearts around the table movies. I just started Kiki's movie, so I do not have a verdict on that, but I am sure I will love it.

These have been such heartwarming movies, how Angie opened her heart and home to all and so many more kids who didn't have loving homes, or didn't have parents that could take care of them. The 4 adult hearts, Josh, Shari, Jenna and Kiki are so wonderful and always there for each other, and for the new fosters Angie takes in. And Angie, just what a delight. So far, I have loved Josh and Ella's story the best. ~Sabrina

❤️ I have one "Hearts Around the Table" movie left to watch, but I just had to say how much I have enjoyed this series of films. It is beautiful to see how this foster family has flourished, and how they continue to care for, look out for and love each other. Angie is such an incredible woman, who continues to give love to others by opening her home up to foster children, mostly teenagers, who simply need someone to care. I’ve enjoyed each of these stories and loved the way the writer weaved various storylines of each character, Jenna, Shari, Josh, and Kiki into each of these movies. Looking forward to the last one! ~Net

Hearts Around the Table: Kiki's Fourth Ingredient

Premiere Date: Saturday, April 12, 2025

Starring: Kathryn Davis, Torrance Coombs and Mindy Cohn

Storyline: Kiki, a spirited food truck chef, takes on catering her sister Jenna’s wedding. When setbacks arise, she finds unexpected help in Clay, the charming best man and a chef himself. As sparks fly, Kiki discovers that love—whether for family, food, or romance—means taking chances and following her heart.

Movie Reviews:

❤️ Kiki's Fourth Ingredient is safe, and therefore makes the whole collection safe! Well done, Hallmark. –Maria

❤️ We watched the last "Hearts Around the Table" movie last night. I have to be honest. It was just okay. I was hoping for more. We did like the resolution to Jenna's father story. And, the wedding was lovely. The movie was clean, which was good, but I don't know. We liked the first and the third movie's more. ~Joan

❤️ This may be the wrong blog to post this under, but I was finally able to finish the last hearts around the table movie. I wish that this could become a series. But I would also want to guarantee that they didn't sneak anything in it that would ruin it, if you know what I mean. These four movies were so good! ~Grace

Journey to You
(a DaySpring Movie)

Premiere Date: Saturday, April 19, 2025

Starring: Erin Cahill and Erik Valdez

Storyline: After missing out on a promotion, Monica reluctantly walks the Camino de Santiago. She's surprised when along the way she finds inner peace and a potential romance.

Movie Reviews:

🌷 Journey to You is another lovely Dayspring movie. -Maria

🌷 My husband and I watched "Journey to You" last night and we were not disappointed. “Journey to You” was an exceptional movie! Oh, there was so much to love! It started out a bit slow, but then my husband and I were hooked. Erin was just perfect in her role. I could tell how much this movie meant to her. She was radiant and reflective and just wonderful. I also thought she had good chemistry with the lead male actor. I honestly did not know anything about him, but they were a great match. Their relationship was sweet and sentimental and completely believable. I thought all of the relationships were authentic and not phony in any way. The scenery was breathtaking. And, the way they brought the storyline, full circle, was perfect! I won’t spoil it, for anyone who hasn’t watched the movie, but the ending was very moving and unexpected. I wish Hallmark would make more DaySpring movies. It makes my heart soar knowing they can still make movies that matter and have a faith-based message. ~Joan

🌷 Hi Joan, I too watched - or started to watch - Journey to You last night, but I turned it off about half-way through. While I agree that Erin was very good, the movie just seemed to plod along for me and I couldn't get into it. Maybe I should have stuck with it till the end? ~Mark 25

🌷 I almost turned off the movie as well because it did plod along and it took a while to pull me in. But, I am glad I stuck with it. It wasn't the most exciting movie but there really was a lot to like once it got going. Yes, not a lot happened but it was a quiet and reflective movie. If you do decide at some point, to finish the movie, I think you will like the end. :-) If you do watch it, please let me know here and I will tell you why the ending meant something to me. ~Joan

🌷 Journey to You – This is one of those movies that just feels real and heartfelt. The prayer scenes and quiet moments of reflection felt genuine.

That being said, the movie is rather slow, at times, but the heart of the movie is in the grace it shows- in family struggles and in personal growth. I loved that the main female lead, Monica (Erin Cahill), does a devotional and openly prays. It felt honest, hopeful, and uplifting.

As Monica walks the trail of Camino de Santiago, she joins in with a group that includes her female tour guide, a divorced father, Luis, grandfather, and son. It was nice to watch her connect with her guide and this family along the journey. The romantic connection she had with Luis was low-key, but sweet.

Near the end, in the background we hear the song “Hold On” by Christian singer, Katy Nicole. If you know this song, then you already know how incredibly powerful and meaningful those words are when we are walking a path of uncertainty. Those encouraging words to just “hold on” touched my heart deeply.

Overall, this is an uplifting, inspirational film, though its slower pace may not appeal to everyone. ~Net

Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Moon and Back

Premiere Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025

Starring: Eric Mabius, Kristin Booth, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe, Geoff Gustafson, and Gregory Harrison

Storyline: The POstables take a road trip to find the recipient of a lost letter and track down a musician who is the key to solving the case.

Movie Reviews:

πŸ“ͺ I saw “To the Moon and Back” on GOOD and all I gotta say is watch with a busload of tissues. Martha and the gang knock it out of the park once again. Can’t wait to watch it on Hallmark. ~Anonymous

πŸ“ͺ To the Moon and Back review: This is by far, 1 of the best movies in the series! And that ending? Definitely a TBC. This is why we need to fight for this series! Hallmark or Great American Family, this series needs a home that will respect it and let it continue on. -Maria

πŸ“ͺ Loved SSD "To the Moon and Back" it is honestly one of their best movies yet! I'll be sad if this is honestly the last we will see of this wonderful show. I loved how Rita was shown eating all the time! lol... I was crying by the end, but just bravo to Martha for writing such an amazing series. ~Sarah

πŸ“ͺ My wife and I watched Signed, Sealed, Delivered last night and were impressed by how well the movie was written and acted. If you’re tired of the same repetitive Hallmark story, then you should watch this. It’s not just about falling in love, there’s an actual story here. Excellent job all around. Robert

πŸ“ͺ I just watched To the Moon and Back on Hallmark + and I think it’s one of my favorites!!! ~Abigail

πŸ“ͺ Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To The Moon and Back – At first, the opening scene didn’t grab me with the unknown characters, but as soon as I saw our four POstables, I felt the warm feeling of being home again!

My favorite scenes were of Oliver and his father, Joe. Oh my, those were absolutely beautiful, touching, and heartfelt moments. I felt many similar and comfortably familiar storylines from previous “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” movies…

As soon as I saw the letters from Oliver’s biological father, I thought of all of the letters Oliver was given from his father, Joe, in “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Truth Be Told.”

The RV brought to mind, as I’m sure it did for other SSD faithful watchers, memories of their road trip in “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Road Less Traveled.”

An incredibly significant moment happening in the middle of a song performance brought to mind “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Impossible Dream.”

At the movie's conclusion, they all head back to the DLO to reflect on everything that transpired and simply be together. That scene reminded me of the end of “Signed, Sealed, Delivered: For Christmas.”

As I continue to think on it, I’m sure other familiar moments will come to mind. What a joy it was to see our POstables again and catch up on their lives. It was also sweet to have Rhiannon Fish in a few scenes with her adorable baby, too.

The ending was truly beautiful. That last line, “I love all of us,” still echoes in my mind and leaves me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

As I’ve said from the very beginning of this series, “’Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ will leave a forever stamp on your heart!” ~Net

πŸ“ͺ We also really enjoyed the SSD movie. It was simply amazing. Net, like you, my favorite scenes were of Oliver and his father, Joe. Oh my, those were beautiful, touching, and heartfelt moments. I have been such a huge fan of Gregory Harrison for years. He is such a natural actor. He can break your heart with just a look and melt your heart with his smile. I love the dynamic between Oliver and Joe with every part of my being. And I agree with you on how so many moments, in last weekend’s movie, made me think about past scenes in their other movies. I also thought the main story was engaging. It was sad that the mother and her girls had to go into hiding because of what her husband and their father did. As a mother myself, I understand why she did what she did to protect them. It was sad how her story ended but it was realistic. And, as always, I reveled in the loveliness of the relationships of Norman and Rita and Shane and Oliver. As time as passed, they have become family to me, and I am invested in their characters and their history. All of the SSD movies hold such a special place in my heart.~Joan

πŸ“ͺ Oooh! Yay!! I feel all bubbly excited!!!! That one deserves so many encores! It’s probably my favorite. Special enough to need tissues. I just loved the pregnancy announcement scene and Rita’s cravings. So cute. I think I’ll watch it again on H+ thanks to hoopla. ~Abigail

πŸ“ͺ "What a mysterious, magnificent mess life can be"...Once again, the latest SSD movie, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To The Moon & Back" forced me to probe my soul, and the result was an overflowing of tears. Just absolutely wonderful! I really do lose myself for two hours in these characters and movies but always end up finding something in myself through the tears. ~Jim

I took a chance on the the 3rd and wanted to comment that all 3 are family friendly, or as family friendly as murder can be. I want to thank everybody on here who posts reviews. My Quick Take:

First, I'm delighted that we will have a DaySpring movie this Spring; however, I'm not sure, yet, if the DaySpring movie will be Easter-themed or perhaps, it will be an inspirational film that takes place in the Spring??? Details to come.

Also, I'm not recognizing Erin Cahill's opposite in "Journey to You." Do any of you know him? (Update: an anonymous commenter provided the actor's name in comments below. He is Erik Valdez)

An interesting note for the "Hearts Around the Table" movie collection, four of the lead stars from these films, Ashley Newbrough, Kathryn Davis, Torrance Coombs, and Jake Epstein were all leads, as well, in the "Unwrapping Christmas" collection of films that streamed on Hallmark+ at Christmastime. (By the way, I streamed all four of those holiday movies, and I really enjoyed each one of them!)

Be sure to stay tuned for more details on all of the Spring 2025 movies.

I hope there's a little Sunshine☀️
in your day!

Blessings,
Net
