Have a Wonderful Weekend, Everyone!

So, whether you’re enjoying one last summer getaway or simply relaxing at home, I hope you have a nice and blessed Labor Day Weekend!

And of course, I hope you'll be able to make some time to enjoy Crossroad Springs and Blue Ridge: The Series, or be sure to set record for these great series, the movie marathons, & more!

I’m making plans to spend some extra time indoors with my family this Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, the weather has been dangerously hot here, making it difficult to enjoy much time outdoors, so we’ll be finding other ways to relax and make the most of our time together. If you’re experiencing this same stretch of extreme heat, I hope you’re able to stay cool, hydrated, and safe.

UPDATE: The comment section was down, but it is working now. So sorry for the inconvenience. Looking forward to hearing from you all again!

Blessings to you all!

☀️ SHINING HIS LIGHT: ☀️

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

~ Jeremiah 29:11

There may be times when we cannot understand what God is doing or see how everything will come together, but we can trust that He is always at work, even in the waiting. An unexpected change may be leading us somewhere we never imagined. The One who already knows your tomorrow is faithfully preparing the way today. When we place our future in His hands, we can move forward with peace, knowing He will never leave us or forsake us.

I so enjoyed the first season of this series - the mysteries, friendships, the loyal detective dog, Blue, and more... and I'm really looking forward to season 2!

Please note: this is a crime mystery drama. In my opinion, it's best suited for preteen age and up.

Catch the Premiere of "Blue Skies" Tonight -- When & Where to Watch:

The mystery drama Blue Skies premieres tonight on UPtv at 9pm/8c, after an all-new episode of Hudson & Rex.

Blue Skies is a cozy sort of family mystery show, probably best suited for preteen age and up.

I do want to caution, though, that the first 5 minutes of the first episode are a little more intense, as it shows the lead actress, Scarlet Hunter, portraying Jodi Larsen in the midst of a shoot-out with criminals in her role as military police. After those intense first few minutes, the story is much more relaxed after that.

Along with meeting Jodi and learning a little about her life, this first episode will also introduce you to Jodi's father, a special friend from the past, her work team at the National Park Police, and you'll also meet Jodi's new friend, a highly skilled detective dog, whom she names Blue.

Details on the first episode via UPtv:

Season 1, Episode 1 - Trail of the Missing:

"Jodi Larsen recently joined the National Park Police after a year marked by the loss of her mother and her decision to leave the Military Police after serving her final tour of duty. She unexpectedly teams up with a dog named Blue as her new partner. Together, they tackle their first case, investigating the disappearance of a boy who went missing while camping with his family. As night falls, a race against time begins."

I have viewed the entire season of the Blue Skies series on UP Faith & Family. All eight episodes are family-friendly; however, please note this is a crime drama - so it is not for really young viewers.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Jodi investigate crimes at the National Park, form friendships with her team at work, and reunite with a dear friend, Ryan Miller (played by Actor, Markian Tarasiuk (True Justice Mysteries, Christmas Jars)), who is always there for Jodi when she needs him. It's also sweet to see the great relationship Jodi has with her father - and the loving bond Jodi quickly develops with her new dog, Blue.

I hope many of you will enjoy this series as much as I did!

I know many of you have shared that you have enjoyed this new series... so I'm sure you'll be excited to learn this news, as well.

I've enjoyed the episodes I've watched, so far, but I haven't finished the first season, yet, so I'm really looking forward to finishing it up - especially knowing another season is on the way!

Are You Watching the New Mystery Series, Blue Skies?

If you’re looking for a cozy mystery series, I’d love to recommend the UP Faith & Family original, Blue Skies!

I’ve mentioned this series before, but I recently had the chance to watch the first three episodes, and they were all quite enjoyable and family-friendly overall. That said, as with most mystery stories, there are elements of violence and murder that are definitely too intense for very young viewers, so a little discretion is wise.

Otherwise, Blue Skies carries that same comforting, small-town mystery charm you might feel from Hallmark or Great American Family.

The series stars Scarlet Hunter as Detective Jodi Larsen and Markian Tarasiuk (Mistletoe Connection, Christmas Jars) as Ryan Miller.

It’s an intriguing story that follows Jodi, a former member of the military, as she returns to her hometown and begins working at Crystal Ridge National Park as a criminal investigator.

While reconnecting with her father is a meaningful part of her homecoming, she also forms a special bond with a stray dog she names Blue, an incredibly gifted tracking dog with a natural instinct for search and rescue.

Along the way, she reconnects with Ryan, a former high school friend who now runs a local coffee shop and rock-climbing wall. He's clearly someone who shares her love for the outdoors and a bit of adventure.

Each episode presents a new mystery as we watch Jodi settle into her new role, build relationships with her park colleagues, and partner with her loyal K9 companion, who quickly becomes a favorite among the team.

It was also interesting to see an appearance from Chesapeake Shores and Mistletoe Connection actress, Jessica Sipos (seen in the picture above).

You can stream Blue Skies on UP Faith & Family or through Amazon. There are 8 episodes in the series and new episodes drop every Thursday - ending on April 9th.

And if you’ve already seen some of the episodes, too, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

ATLANTA (Jan. 6, 2026) – UP Faith & Family, the leading streaming service for uplifting movies and series, will debut Blue Skies on Thursday, Feb. 19. Blue Skies is an all-new procedural series that blends mystery and action with emotional storytelling and the heartwarming bond between a detective and her canine companion.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Crystal Ridge National Park, Blue Skies follows former military police officer Jodi Larsen as she returns to her hometown to start over as a criminal investigator for the National Park Police. Driven by a love of the outdoors and a deep sense of justice, Jodi is determined to protect the park, its visitors and her community, whether from natural dangers or human threats. But Jodi’s fresh start is anything but simple. She’s navigating a new team, a by-the-book superintendent and a journey to reconnect with her father after her mother passed away while she was deployed. Her unexpected partner? A mischievous stray Labrador named Blue, whose instincts prove sharper than most trained K9s.

“Blue Skies is a must-watch for anyone who loves a good mystery with heart,” said Philip Manwaring, CEO, UP Entertainment. “It’s an exciting police procedural without the graphic depictions of violence and darkness that often come with this genre, centered around themes of hope, healing, family and the unexpected ways we find connection—including with our loyal four-legged friends.”

Each episode of Blue Skies combines suspense and unexpected turns with heartwarming moments as Jodi and her team tackle missing persons, environmental crimes and the secrets hidden deep within the park’s 5,000 square miles.

Blue Skies stars Scarlet Hunter as Detective Jodi Larsen, Markian Tarasiuk (Mistletoe Connection, Virgin River) as Ryan Miller, Veronica Long (The Wrong Paris) as Detective Nora Esposito, David Lennon (Untamed) as Detective Alex Meeks, Darius Willis as Tyson Bernard, Miranda Edwards as Superintendent Liza King, and Shaughnessy Redden as Bill Larsen.

Blue Skies is produced by Bar None Productions in association with Kino Media and Larry Levinson Productions. Executive Producers are Benjamin Rappaport, Ross Mrazek, Amar Balaggan and Mark Bacci. Directors are David Straiton, David Strasser and Jason Bourque. Writers are Zach Grossman, Victoria Rose and Fernando Viso.

The lead female is new to me, but her co-star, Markian Tarasiuk, is well known from Hallmark, UPtv, and BYUtv movies - Mistletoe Connection, Christmas Jars, True Justice: Family Justice, Polar Opposites, Welcome to Valentine, and more! This looks like it will be an intriguing series. Please share your thoughts in comments below.
