☀️ Labor Day Weekend Brings New 'Crossroad Springs,' 'Blue Ridge' Finale, a Splash of Summer, Marathons, & More

Happy Labor Day Weekend, My Friends!

Can you believe we’ve reached Labor Day Weekend already? Summer may be winding down, but there are still some wonderful things to enjoy, and this weekend brings the return of a beloved family drama, along with an exciting season finale!

First up, I’m so happy to head back Saturday night to the Hamilton family ranch for Season 2 of Crossroad Springs! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s ahead for our favorite characters as they face new challenges and adventures on the ranch.

And then, get ready for a dramatic and suspenseful season finale of Blue Ridge: The Series! This Sunday, Season 2 comes to an exciting conclusion on INSP, as a devastating landslide strikes deep in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. And making this finale even more exciting are special guest stars Keith Carradine (pictured above) and Nancy Stafford!

With Labor Day Weekend being thought of as the last (unofficial) weekend of Summer, I also thought it would be nice to share below a splash of the classic Summer movies airing this weekend, along with some fun Fall classics!

Have a Wonderful Weekend, Everyone!

So, whether you’re enjoying one last summer getaway or simply relaxing at home, I hope you have a nice and blessed Labor Day Weekend!

And of course, I hope you'll be able to make some time to enjoy
Crossroad Springs and Blue Ridge: The Series, or be sure to set record for these great series, the movie marathons, & more!

I’m making plans to spend some extra time indoors with my family this Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, the weather has been dangerously hot here, making it difficult to enjoy much time outdoors, so we’ll be finding other ways to relax and make the most of our time together. If you’re experiencing this same stretch of extreme heat, I hope you’re able to stay cool, hydrated, and safe.

UPDATE: The comment section was down, but it is working now. So sorry for the inconvenience. Looking forward to hearing from you all again!

Blessings to you all!

☀️ SHINING HIS LIGHT: ☀️

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
~ Jeremiah 29:11

There may be times when we cannot understand what God is doing or see how everything will come together, but we can trust that He is always at work, even in the waiting. An unexpected change may be leading us somewhere we never imagined. The One who already knows your tomorrow is faithfully preparing the way today. When we place our future in His hands, we can move forward with peace, knowing He will never leave us or forsake us.

Happy Labor Day weekend all! I’m going out of town but will be sure to record the new stuff.

It’s been a great season of Blue Ridge, any word on more? Christie

    3. Christie, No word on more Blue Ridge, just yet.

I commented to Gary Wheeler, the show's creator, "Hoping for another season of Blue Ridge!!!" And he responded with, "you and me both!!!"

So... there's definitely hope, and if the ratings and streaming views are high, than I would think there would be a good chance of us getting more! :)

  3. I am looking forward to the next episode of Crossroad Springs. Only character that doesn't fit in is the new female Dr. I just don't get her character.

    1. Yes, Danica has been very busy filming her latest Christmas. They were filming last week in Kentucky during the heat wave. Bet that wasn't very fun wearing sweaters & coats. Yikes!!!!

  7. I agree Net, I know this weekend is the “unofficial” end of summer, but it really does feel like that for me. Once September hits and I see all the fall decor in the stores (they have been around for awhile now in our local Hobby Lobby, Christmas decor too) I just feel like it’s fall. We actually had some cooler days this week (high 80s vs 110) and it’s felt sooooo nice in the morning with the chill in the air & in the evenings. I have so much cleaning go catch up on this weekend so I’ll be watching some older owns that Iv watched many times. I like to put older ons on in the background while I’m cleaning when the kids are asleep. I’m thinking October Kiss or Harvest Moon. We do not celebrate Halloween but I still enjoy October Kiss as I feel it still has some enjoyable parts.

    1. Paula, Oh my goodness... that is craaaaazy - that you had lower temps last week. It was such a miserable heat wave in contrast for us, and I know it's been the other way a lot more for you this Summer - so I'm so glad you finally had some relief. We could barely be outside - it was so dangerously hot. But it finally eased off yesterday and Labor Day has been comfortable & perfect!!!

By the way, I love checking out the seasonal things at Hobby Lobby, too! We have such a nice store not too far away. The Christmas section was just filling in when I was there last a couple weeks ago, but I'm planning to go again this week sometime and see what they've added!!! I'm always excited to see all the new Christmas items - and think about all the homes they are going to!!! I usually find something that is irresistible!!!

Also, love those Fall movies you mentioned!!! Same with us with not celebrating Halloween, but I still enjoy October Kiss and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!!!! :)

    1. Maria! I so agree! Crossroad Springs was such a great opener to the new season. The faith throughout was outstanding!!!!

Did you see that Jonathan Stoddard shared in an interview with *Survived the Shows* that something "pretty wild" happens in episode 4? Not sure what that could be, but I'm definitely curious!!! :)

    1. Kathy, you’re so right... this is such a solemn and heavy week, especially as we think about Charlie Kirk and September 11th. Both have been on my heart a lot, and I’ve found myself continually praying for our country.

It really is such a blessing to have inspirational programs like Blue Ridge and Crossroad Springs to lift our spirits in times like these.

I also loved watching the Blue Ridge Finale last night, and I 100% agree... it was one of the best episodes this season! The faith, prayers, hymns, & miracle!!! It was all so beautiful!!!

You are sooo right - Keith Carradine was incredible & I adored Nancy Stafford as his wife. If they do more seasons, I hope we see more of them! Maybe Brother Rusty could marry Justin & Elli again, and they could renew their vows!!! Wouldn't that be wonderful?!?!?

If anyone else here hasn't seen this Blue Ridge finale episode... it's currently free to watch on YouTube.
