Happy Election Day, to all of my fellow American Friends!
I want to encourage those of you who visit here to VOTE TODAY, if you haven't already. In the past, I have mostly voted on Election Day, but in the last two elections, I voted early. It wasn't too long of a wait—maybe 20 minutes.
Our soldiers fought and died for our freedom and the right to vote, so it was my honor to vote to honor them and their sacrifice. Although I do not live in a swing state, I still feel every vote is truly important.
My prayer is that our country will return to virtuous, conservative values. As a Christian, I believe it is imperative that my vote is based on my core beliefs and Biblical principles that are found in the scriptures.
“If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land” ~2 Chronicles 7:14
I will be glued to my TV today watching the results as they come in. If it gets too intense, I might have to turn it to a Christmas movie to destress for a minute or two... perhaps a classic, like Home Alone 2. (wink! wink!)
Of course, in all seriousness, I will be praying for this Election Day and the future of America... placing it all in God's Almighty Hands.
Hi Net,
ReplyDeleteYes, today is very important! I am certainly casting my vote. I fear for the future of our nation and it saddens me to see us so divided. I will pray today for a brighter future filled with hope. Hugs to you!
Joan, your words made me smile! I love you dear friend!
DeleteWe have a family tradition every voting night. We stay up late watching the polls and drink IBC club sodas and black cherry soda from glass bottles. And popcorn. And cheer when a state is won!!
Abigail,
DeleteOh my gosh! Your sweet comment made my day! Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!! ♥ I love you too dear friend! I am so happy to hear I made you smile. π
Your election night family tradition sounds so comforting and fun! I think it is so important to hold true to traditions. I pray we are able to take back our country tonight. π
I hope there is a lot of cheering, in your home, tonight! And I pray we wake up tomorrow to a better future!! π
Hi Net, Joining you in prayer.
DeleteI voted early too, Net. I never used to, either, but couldn’t take the risk that something might happen today to prevent it. I’m praying that our country will return to Biblical values. Robert
ReplyDeleteMy prayers are with Trump and every conservative candidate across the country. May they all win and we finally get to have good people back in power again! -Maria
ReplyDeleteI believe as a U.S. Citizen we have the duty to vote, so I voted with my family on the first early voting day and was about 45 min, but moved along quickly and the people were all very nice. Then we went to Cracker Barrel, it was empty because of Halloween. Perfect timing!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything you said Net, our Pastors called for a prayer meeting yesterday night for today’s outcome. I’m going to be praying all day today for us to be a Christian nation again. Praying for God’s mercy. I’m praying for P. Trump’s salvation. He’s already had two attempts on his life, possibly more. God could use that hardship to save him. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if he was elected and became a believer of Christ!! Nothing is impossible with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
Abigail,
DeleteYou made some excellent points! As U.S. Citizens, we have the duty to vote and there is no excuse for us to not vote. Our voices need to be heard. I too am praying for us to be a Christian nation again. π We need God more than ever.
Hey Net, I like your Home alone 2 movie idea :) I will be glued to the tv tonight too. But I remember what happened last election when I went to bed at 2 am and woke the next day. Praying for everyone and that there is no violence at all.

I early voted for the first time, but I got straight in, no line. I’m so glad I did, cause I hear the line in my town is crazy long today. But I would wait all day in the rain if I had to. It’s worth it to me.
ReplyDeleteWhatever happens tonight, I’m praying for peace. Christie
Amen, Net!! Every time I vote, I'm always thinking of the patriots who sacrificed so much for freedom and liberty, and godly principles- it's pretty emotional for me, and I suspect, for lots of us here. Thanks to every one who has commented here, I feel blessed and humbled to be in such good company. Net, I always pray 2 Chron. 7:14, but am in overdrive today. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord! ...jenn
ReplyDeleteI've never been interested in assuming leadership myself. I've just focused on being the best-informed voter I could be. Historically, I always voted on election day "in case there were any last minute scandals." π Since the pandemic, however, and because I'm officially OLD ("with underlying conditions," as they say), I've voted by mail, as I did last week. I, too, will be glued to the TV tonight. God bless America!
ReplyDeleteVoted early here, too, and praying for the election.
ReplyDeleteRosie
There have been so many prayers for our nation with this election. Dr. Stanley said " our battles are fought on our knees". I will confess; I am battle weary. My prayers have been going almost non-stop for several months because I have been so burdened for our nation. I voted early too.
ReplyDeleteHearing so many have been praying is very encouraging! May God bless America again!
