The Hallmark Channel will *Spring into Love* this April with Erin Krakow (When Calls the Heart) and Robert Buckley (Chesapeake Shores) in the all-new romantic comedy premiere, "Blind Date Book Club."
Storyline via Hallmark: A bookstore owner finds love and direction in life after agreeing to review a famous author’s new novel in her blind-date-with-a-book club.
I'm truly amazed at the turnaround for this movie, especially for the editing department, who must seamlessly piece together video footage, dialogue, background music, etc. The movie, "Blind Date Book Club," was just filmed from January 15th to February 2nd!
"Blind Date Book Club" will premiere on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 8pm/7c., the eve before the premiere of the 11th Season of When Calls the Heart.
*Note: There are also more "Young Aurora Teagarden Mysteries" soon to be filmed in March, so it appears they are keeping those mysteries going. For me, they will never compare to the originals, starring Candace Cameron Bure. What are your thoughts on this and "Blind Date Book Club"? Please share in comments below.
Nope. -Maria
ReplyDeleteThey can turnaround late-filming Christmas movies in the same timeframe.
ReplyDeleteLoving Erin doing more movies! ~Susan Ann
ReplyDeleteI'm not a great Erin Krakov fan although I Like Robert Buckley.
ReplyDeleteThe short synopsis sounds very dry - there must surely be something more to it - a case of wait and see.
Neither am I a particular fan of CCB but she made the role of Aurora Teagarden - I can't understand why Hallmark want to keep this series going albeit she is in her youth.
I don't think the first of the new series did very well - Florence
This movie sounds great, I love both actors. And I agree Net, Teagarden mysteries will never be the same but I welcome ones that are at least familiar faces versus the new ones that are unknown people to me and don’t continue after one movie. I was watching an older Hailey Dean Mystery the other day, I miss those older familiar ones!

Same here Paula! Hailey Dean was a great one. I was watching Kellie Martin today in So You Said Yes. She's a great actress.
DeleteYes I love her! Wish she made more movies. Have you ever watched those older mystery movies she made, Mystery Woman? I always see them on my On Demand and wonder if they are any good….
Delete~Paula
Paula, I have seen the entire "Mystery Woman" series, and since you love "Hailey Dean," I'm sure you would like it, too.
Delete"Mystery Woman" is such a smart mystery franchise which focuses mainly on Samantha Kinsey (Kellie Martin) who inherits a bookstore and works with her friend and father-figure, Philby, and solves real-life mysteries with her friend Cassie, who just happens to be the local assistant to the District Attorney.
I always thought they needed one more movie, though, to sort of finish things up, which is typical with most of these Hallmark mysteries.
Also, one bit of caution, there is a storyline with a psychic in one of the films. I've seen it, but I fast-forwarded some parts.
Otherwise, it's a great series!
Blessings, Net
Thank you Net! I so appreciate all of your reviews & I’ll definitely be watching these π

Paula, yes!!! I love the Mystery Woman series. I own them on dvd. I love her friend Cassie.
DeleteBecause you mentioned it, I am now watching Hailey Dean Mysteries in order now. Haha ;)
I can only find three on dvd. Did they ever put the rest of the shows on dvd? Love the Mystery Woman series. RG
DeleteRG, I have that Mystery Woman collection, and I believe those are the only three they ever released on DVD. It's rare, but sometimes they do play them. I think the last time I saw them on TV was on Hallmark Drama. ~Net
DeleteI am excited about both movies.
ReplyDeleteI loved Erin in The Wedding Cottage and I love the premise of books and reading. I also loved old The Aurora Teagarden movies, but I also enjoyed the new one--I tried not to get upset about the past and looked to the future of the stories.
This isn’t anything I’ll be streaming later for sure. Both of these actors suffered the same fate with me. The series that they were involved with changed so much, Chesapeake Shores in the last two seasons and WCTH in the last one, as to be unrecognizable, and I associate both of them with both shows losing their way. That’s unfair I know, haha. But I enjoyed each of these shows so much and each of their characters helped to suck the joy out of them for me. It’s honestly tainted anything that I see them in.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I hope it’s clean and family friendly so that others can enjoy it
Rebecca
Jesse Metcalf left Chesapeake Shores of his own free will as did Daniel Lissing. We can't blame those who remain and who come in after for those choices. Of course the show will change. It has too. I'm excited to watch. I Luke both these actors.
DeleteRegarding WCTH, I have no issue with Daniel leaving the show. That was 5 years ago. I’m referring to Elizabeth’s part in the season 10 travesty. Jesse Metcalfe left the show due to differences with the writers, who apparently were not going to allow Trace and Abby to continue to be together. That was a bad decision on their part and he disagreed with it. I personally think they should have continued with the story they were telling, which was Trace and Abby’s love story. I don’t see the necessity for change in storylines especially as it wouldn’t have been necessary because Jesse would have remained on the show. As a replacement, they brought in Robert Buckley, whose character was a shallow, juvenile man-child with no depth. On both counts, decisions were made that ruined both shows for me. That’s all there is to it. I forgot to put a disclaimer on my original post that it was my personal opinion only.

The real Aurora Teagarden is soooo much better of course! But, I will watch it anyway. At least it's something new. I'm so glad I have pretty much all the good mysteries on dvd.
ReplyDeleteI love Erin's movies. The last one was good. But I am looking forward to her pairing with Daniel Lissings more!!!
Sounds great. I like both actors.
ReplyDeleteI just happened to run across this article on TV Insider today, and I have zero clue why I'm finding it hilarious. Or maybe you can guess by reading it given what happened last Season.

Reading that article kind of made me giggle. Brian Bird says that the show could survive without Erin Krakow. However only a few months ago I heard him myself say in one of his many interviews justifying the break up of Elizabeth and Lucas, that Lucas was going to have to be away from Hope Valley since he’s now governor and there was absolutely no way that Elizabeth would ever leave Hope Valley because she was the heart of the show. So is he saying that she would be recast? It makes no sense.

Elizabeth has to stay in Hope Valley because Hope Valley Residents need her the most. it’s an old article. Hope Valley is Elizabeth’s home with her family, friends, & Community, They don’t want her to leave Hope Valley as their students’ schoolteacher & friends. Since Nathan told Elizabeth: The Students need Mrs. Thornton as their schoolteacher in Hope Valley, no one else. He begged Elizabeth to stay in Hope Valley because Hope Valley is her really home. He told her what do you want? Be Safe!!!! Elizabeth stays in Hope Valley where her heart is forever home
DeleteSince WCTH Christmas; Allie talked to Mrs. Thornton about moving to Union City & Elizabeth begged Nathan to stay in Hope Valley. Nathan turned down the job in Hope Valley because Allie wanna stay in Hope Valley. Allie hugged her Schoolteacher; Mrs. Thornton
IKR?! It's such a mess, it's amusing. He's helmed some great movies that I've enjoyed, but running this show the last year? Nope. If anything, interviews like this just further prove why some long running shows need actual end dates before they do something stupid enough to divide the whole fanbase. -Maria
DeleteI do enjoy his other projects too. But I feel they’ve lost their way with this one. You’re right, if they would set a specific date for the show to end, there would be time to construct an overall arc that would make sense for the characters and remain true to them instead of distorting them.
