Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries - My Review of the Birthday Episode...

Just wanted to share a quick review of the newest episode of Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries, airing tonight on UPtv at 9pm/8c.

Episode 5 is titled "Simply Vanished." In this episode, a hidden chute at the gift shop leads Cheryl to a decades-old disappearance — and a birthday she’ll never forget.

The mystery itself is quite intriguing, involving the discovery of lost items connected to events from around 40 years ago. But honestly, what I loved most about this episode was finally getting to meet Cheryl Cooper’s family, her parents and brother, as they come to Sugarcreek to celebrate her birthday.

As Cheryl’s birthday dinner unfolds at the Miller family home, the Cooper family, who are Christian, share a deeply meaningful discussion of faith with the Miller family, who are Amish. There’s even a beautiful conversation centered around accepting Christ as one’s Savior that I found especially touching and inspiring. The family scenes throughout this episode are truly warm and memorable.

If you’ve been enjoying this series, this is definitely one episode you won’t want to miss!

And Cheryl’s birthday gift from the Millers is incredibly sweet and thoughtful. It’s becoming more and more clear that Cheryl and Levi share a very special bond and those around them are beginning to notice it more and more, too.

My Quick Take:

I hope you all will enjoy the new season of "Blue Ridge."

From high-stakes investigations to pulse-pounding action and heartfelt family moments, it looks like season 2 will continue to deliver excitement at every turn!

Note of caution: Due to intense crime-fighting drama and violence, this show (in my opinion) is not for young viewers.

Meanwhile, over on Great American Family, the medical drama County Rescue returns with its Season Three premiere. Filled with faith, courage, and heartfelt moments, the series continues to follow dedicated first responders as they face personal challenges and their calling to serve others.

🚨Note: I watched the first episode of County Rescue early on Great American Pure Flix, and just wanted to share that due to the intensity of some medical issues and life-saving emergencies, County Rescue is (in my opinion) best suited for mature preteen age and up. This premiere episode is 1 hour and 30 minutes long (with commercials). It's intense and emotional, but also inspiring to see how these close friends, even when times are tough, care for and lean on each other.

To Be Or Not To Be... New Hallmark Movie Filming with Shakespeare Theme

Well, look what’s rolled into London, Ontario! Local buzz is growing as a new article from the London Free Press reports that a Hallmark Channel production crew has officially arrived in town for their latest movie shoot.

According to the article, the film currently in production for Hallmark is titled Nothing But Love.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Ashley Williams would star in a project with that very title.

IMDb states that the story is an adaptation of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and will feature Ashley Williams alongside Paul Braunstein, Lindura, Jennifer Dale, and more.

I'm not yet certain when this movie will air on the schedule. Could Nothing But Love be part of Hallmark Channel’s lineup later this Summer or Fall? We’ll have to wait and see.

Will Mountie Michael and Nora finally find the courage to speak the feelings that have been building between them, or will Michael’s duty as a Mountie pull him away from Brookfield just when love seems within reach? "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries" - My Review of Episode 3 - airing on UPtv

Hey, friends... I had the opportunity to watch an early screener of the third episode of "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries" titled "O Little Town of Sugarcreek," and I just had to share that this episode was my favorite one yet!

No spoilers, I promise, but here are a few (or more!) of my favorite details...

⚫ First, these mysteries (so far) are simple mysteries within the town of Sugarcreek that do not involve murder. This episode is about missing jewelry.

⚫ While we've seen Cheryl Cooper's adorable cat, Beau, before, he makes more of an appearance in this episode.

⚫ This series is definitely giving me vibes of the Hallmark series, Mistletoe Murders - the lead women in both series have red hair, and they both own a small store within a quaint town that sells small gifts, knick-knacks, home decor, etc. Both women have cats and employ a teenage girl related to their supposed love interest, and their love interests often help to solve mysteries.

⚫ In this episode of "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries," there's a bit of a romantic love triangle when Cheryl's ex, Lance, makes a surprise visit!

⚫ And best of all, for this episode, which you might be able to tell from the title, "O Little Town of Sugarcreek," is centered around the Christmas season! It's interesting to see how this quaint Amish town celebrates the holiday; it's even mentioned that their main focus is to celebrate the birth of their Lord!

BURBANK, CA – May 6, 2026 – Hallmark announced today that new fan favorite Hope Valley: 1874, the prequel series to the hugely popular When Calls the Heart, has been renewed. Exclusively for Hallmark+, the eight-episode series will return for season two in 2027.

Hope Valley: 1874’s debut was the most successful launch of a series on Hallmark+-to-date. Viewers turned out in unprecedented numbers, leading the series to exceed expectations each week and establish itself as a bona fide hit.

The season one finale premieres Thursday, May 7, while all episodes are currently available to stream on Hallmark+.

Hope Valley: 1874 stars Bethany Joy Lenz (A Biltmore Christmas), Benjamin Ayres (The Santa Class), Jill Hennessy (City on a Hill), Roan Curtis (Firefly Lane) and Lachlan Quarmby (Providence Falls). Also featured are Jedidiah Goodacre (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Mila Morgan (The Holiday Sitter), Brad Abramenko (The Flash) and Chelsea Hobbs (Deck the Halls on Cherry Lane).

ABOUT HOPE VALLEY: 1874

The series explores the earliest days of the frontier settlement that later became Hope Valley, chronicling the courage, resilience and relationships that laid the foundation for the close-knit town viewers have come to love. Lenz portrays Rebecca Clarke, a recent widow who travels with her 11-year-old daughter Sarah (Morgan) to the Western Canadian frontier to escape a threat back home and make a fresh start following her husband’s death. When she discovers the boarding house she purchased sight unseen needed extensive renovations, Rebecca faced a tougher road ahead than she had imagined. Thanks to the fledgling community that embraces them – including local rancher and confirmed bachelor Tom Moore (Ayres), with whom she becomes close, and Hattie Quinn (Hennessy), a widow herself who runs the trading post with the help of her daughter Olivia (Curtis) – Rebecca and Sarah become an intrinsic part of the settlement and they begin to find their way. Helping keep the peace between the ranchers and gold prospectors who are at odds with each other is Constable Alexander Vaughn (Quarmby), who becomes smitten with Olivia, much to the dismay of local blacksmith Clayton Cooley (Goodacre), who has long harbored feelings for her. As the season comes to a close a sudden turn of events leaves their futures uncertain.
