Saturday, April 25, 2026:
In addition to it being just 8 months until Christmas Day, we’re now around 6 months away from the start of the Christmas movie season!
Saturday, April 25th, is that special time again… to “Mark the 25th” day of the month with a cozy Christmas movie! If you're planning to join in, I'd love to know which movie you are choosing. It can be a new movie, a classic movie, something you love, or something you've never seen. Please share your Christmas movie pick in comments below. (And the Christmas movies airing Friday night can count, too!)
I decided my “Mark the 25th” choice will be the classic Hallmark Channel movie, A Boyfriend for Christmas, starring Kelli Williams and Patrick Muldoon. I chose this movie in honor of the recent, sudden passing of Patrick Muldoon, which is still so hard to believe, and because this movie has always held a special place in my heart.
A Boyfriend for Christmas premiered in 2004, when there were only about 3 or 4 new Christmas premieres on the Hallmark Channel during the holiday season, so each movie was truly special. It felt like everyone who loves Christmas was marking their calendar, too, and watching with you. Streaming wasn't available then, so ratings were much higher. And this movie did not disappoint - it was funny, festive, family-friendly, and yes, there's a fake-boyfriend, Douglas Firwood, who Patrick Muldoon portrays perfectly! I've probably seen this movie hundreds of times since, and it never disappoints - it always puts a smile on my face!
I have many favorite lines from the movie, but here are two I especially love:
Ryan Hughes (AKA Douglas Firwood): I may be difficult to exchange without a receipt.
Holly Grant: That's okay, I think I'll keep you!
I hope whatever Christmas movie you choose... also brings joy to you! Please share your pick in comments below.
Sunday, April 26, 2026:
Season 3 - Episode 4:
Curveball: The robbery investigation intensifies as Reynolds (Trevor Donovan) questions Justine about her stolen ring, while tension grows between Wyatt (Nick Bateman) and Hannah (Sarah Fisher) as her career pulls her in a new direction. Across Brookfield, Wally grieves his father, Sam (Jon McLaren) struggles with change, and many relationships, including Nora’s (Cindy Busby) and Michael (Christopher Russell) are tested through moments of vulnerability and emotional growth.
Weekend Thoughts...
The new episode of When Hope Calls: Brookfield is one you'll definitely want to *catch*! The new pastor teaches the children to play baseball, and Mountie Michael appears to be a little jealous of the new minister spending extra time with Nora.
Also, I sure hope we will all enjoy Tyler Hynes’ new movie, I'll Be Seeing You, premiering this weekend!
Hopefully, some of you have also had the chance to see the touching videos Tyler recently shared on Instagram. If not, I've included them below. It has been so heartwarming to see the genuine respect and admiration Tyler shows for the legendary Christine Ebersole, who portrays a grandmother in his new movie. They also previously worked together on Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, and it was Tyler's wish for them to reunite on screen again!
What a wonderfully talented and accomplished actress Christine Ebersole is! Her acting credits (as seen on IMDb) date back to the 1970s, and she has appeared in countless films, television movies, and series over the years. And my goodness... what a spectacular singing voice she has, too! I’m so glad these two were able to work together again on this movie and, hopefully, many more!
Tyler's video below highlights their time working on both movies - Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, and I'll Be Seeing You, and even a trip to the grocery store!
Also, Hallmark hasn't officially announced, yet, but in case you haven't heard, earlier this month Tyler Hynes filmed a new Christmas movie for Hallmark Channel's Countdown to Christmas 2026 with Laci J. Mailey (Chesapeake Shores, A Little Park Music) titled The Christmas Loop. In this new holiday movie, Tyler Hynes plays a character trapped in a Christmas Eve loop who falls for a woman. More details to come!

And... more Christmas-related news for Tyler... the Hallmark stores are releasing a brand new Tyler Hynes Christmas ornament. Last year's release was Lacey Chabert.
Tyler Hynes's ornament can't be purchased yet through the Hallmark store/website - it will be released on October 10th.
Lacey Chabert's ornament (from 2025) is no longer available through the Hallmark shop website; however, there are several purchase options through Ebay - click here for price and more details.
You can see the new 2026 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Dream Book - click here.
I hope you'll enjoy dreaming with me! So many sweet new ornaments! Anything with Charlie Brown always catches my eye, and I love that Hallmark is honoring the 80th Anniversary of the classic film It's a Wonderful Life with a lovely new ornament featuring Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed! I would love to know... which ornaments do like best?
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend... full of joy and happiness! As always, thank you for spending a little of your time here... your visits truly mean so much.
If you'd like to share a review for any of the programming this weekend or any previous weekend... please feel free to share in comments.

"Each month brings us one step closer to those festive premieres, cozy classics, and all the holiday joy we all love so much!" I love how you wrote this Net. So many times, your words warm my heart. They activate my warm feelings. I will be continuing to watch "The Christmas Cup" for "Mark the 25th".
ReplyDeleteI am with you on the Hallmark Dream Book ornaments Net. Anything with Charlie Brown and the Peanuts gang melts my heart. That Hallmark Ornament Dream Book yearly debut (today the 24th it came out) has become my first steppingstone tradition to the new upcoming Christmas season now. It's a minor thing of course but I love the anticipation (I am a huge fan of anticipation excitement) wonderful feelings that I get throughout the year as we reach each step. This first step tradition started two years ago in April. I was walking at my local mall and saw that Hallmark had put up and lit a Christmas tree in April. Of course, I was just thrilled but I had to know WHY so I stopped in store and asked the clerk. She told me about the Hallmark Dream Book and why they put up their Christmas tree in April. That just thrilled me. Some hidden wonderful Christmas item that VERY few people even know about or care about but to me it was so wonderful and from that time on I now look for the Hallmark Dream Book to come out, even when it is January or February and I am still grieving the loss of the past Christmas. It helps a lot because it isn't months and months away. Anyway, I love the little April stop over to the new Christmas season and ALSO why I love this site soooo much. You have a MILLION of the little steppingstones ALL year long. Each steppingstone revives my feelings and love for Christmas so that they are activated all year.
I will head to my local mall today to see if they put up a Christmas tree. I know that many on this site know that I suffer from OCD (Obsessive Christmas Disorder) but that's okay. I resemble that.
Hey Jim, you are not the only one who suffers from OCD...I do as well! (I mean, why else would I watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas music all year long, right?!)
DeleteAnyway, your comments about the Hallmark Dream Book got me thinking...I remember back in the day when Christmas catalogs were a thing. I always looked forward to right after Labor Day, because I knew that's when the Sears, J.C.Penny and Montgomery Ward Christmas catalogs would be arriving in the mail! As a kid I would devour them and pick out what I wanted for Christmas, and then later in life I would also pick out what I planned on getting others. And it seems like it was only a few years ago when lots of shops still sent out catalogs (anybody remember Betty's Attic with lots of fun stuff?), but now I think I can count on one hand (okay, maybe two) how many I get. I sure do miss 'em!
Oh Mark, I do remember those Christmas catalogs very vividly. I can still see myself looking through all those pages trying to choose what I wanted. Such good memories that you brought up. Thank you for that.
DeleteHey Mark, I totally remember us getting “Toys R Us” catalogs, as well as Sears in the mail when I was little. I remember our mom would fold the pages of the outfits she liked for work and then we would go to the next town where Sears was and we would shop for a whole day, trying on her outfits for work and our outfits for back to school. Now as an adult, we never get anything like that in the mail, with the exception of Christmas when we get a thick booklet from Target. We let our 2 little ones go through it and circle all the things they want to ask Santa for for Christmas. It’s something I used to do growing up so it’s fun to see my children do it now. Where I live in CA so many stores have closed, like Sears, Toys R Us, so no more sales ads from them. I’m surprised our Macys and JCPenny are still open. My mom always finds good deals there for all her grandkids, as well as Kohls, but I feel that everyone shops online now days, there are always great sales online so all these actual stores are closing one by one, so sad….

Jim, I so enjoyed reading your comment!!!!! I just love hearing how much you LOVE Christmas, and each "stepping stone" (that's a perfect way to describe it!) throughout the year that leads us back to that most special season of the year!!!!
DeleteDid your Hallmark at your local mall have the Christmas tree up or any signs of Christmas - with the Dream Book release? Inquiring minds want to know!!! LOL!!!
We used to have several Hallmark stores around, but they are all gone now in our area, even our closest mall. I miss being able to visit them, especially at Christmas... so I'd love to hear what your looks like these days!!! :)
Mark, Oh, yes, we loved shopping through catalogs, too! I remember picking things out and cornering pages... then we'd write our lists for Santa! We'd do the Toys r Us fliers, the American Girl catalog, and Spiegel. Sweet memories! :)
DeleteOh Net! It was wonderful on the 24th. I went for a walk at my mall that day in hopes of seeing a Christmas tree or some sign of Christmas in the Hallmark store kicking off the Hallmark Dream Book release for the new year. The answer to your question is YESSSSS! As I was approaching the Hallmark Store I didn't see the Christmas Tree in the window like last year, so I was kind of bummed out. They did have a big cardboard display on the outside talking about the Dream Book release though. So, of course, I had to enter the store to find out WHY there was no tree this year lol. As I approached the clerks and got close to the register there it WAS! It was located right next to the register. It was not the same lit up tree as last year (last year's tree had the big C9 colored lights on it that I love) but there was an unlit decorated Christmas tree and signs of Christmas which made me very happy. I did ask the clerks why they didn't have the bigger beautiful lit up tree in the main front window like last year and she said they will put that up as it gets closer to Christmas. She said that they need to display Spring stuff in the main window. I was thinking to myself...I want my C9's. I don't care about flower displays hahaha.
DeleteThese two women probably wondered, 'who the heck is this guy?' lol. 'Who knows this stuff or even cares?' hahaha. So, it wasn't as magical as the last two years, but it was a taste so that made me very happy. It was enough to trigger the sentimental warm feelings.
Last year, that beautiful C9 colored Christmas tree was up for many many months...all the way until January. It was up so long that a couple of the C9 bulbs started to burn out. That was one of my favorite spots as I walked in the mall. Every pass by that store gave me joy and of course there were multiple passes by that store on each visit.
So, thank you for asking. This Hallmark store is especially wonderful at Christmas time. Just like what you experienced in your closed stores over the years, I'm sure. You have Christmas ornaments along one wall. You see fun things in the store front windows and the store is loaded with everything Hallmark. You would LOVE it!
Jim, I'm right there with you - there's nothing quite like those C9 Christmas lights!!! There's just something extra warm and nostalgic about them. I can imagine it was probably too much for them - having to fix the lights regularly last year.
DeleteBut a least they had the unlit tree and a little taste of the holiday season to come!
And yes, the Christmas ornaments along one wall at Christmastime... I can see it right now! That was always my favorite place to visit during the holiday season!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful visit with us! :)
I watched “A Boyfriend for Christmas”, starring Kelli Williams & Patrick Muldoon so many times but it’s never air every years. I hope it will be on Hallmark Family. I’ll be watching it
ReplyDeleteI think Hallmark lost the rights last year at Christmas it aired on uptv
DeleteAnonymous & Bebe, I caught A Boyfriend for Christmas on PixL over Christmas, along with a few other older Christmas movies that used to air on Hallmark, like The Christmas Card and All I Want for Christmas.
DeleteSet to record the new movie tomorrow. I really do enjoy Tyler, with specific actresses. So I’m curious how he will vibe with this one. Happy watching everyone! 😊
ReplyDelete~Paula
Those videos of Tyler’s are so special, Net! I’m so glad you shared them.
ReplyDeleteAnd Paula Shaw- what an absolute gem. It’s bittersweet knowing we won’t get to see her in anything new, but I love how Tyler honored her. It’s so touching how much respect and admiration he shows for the legends he works with. Christie
The ornament is good but I wish they had made it full body like Lacey’s. Any idea who will be next year?
ReplyDeleteNo idea, yet. Maybe Bethany Joy Lenz, Andrew Walker, Erin Krakow, Kristoffer Polaha... so many possibilities!!! It's anyone guess.
DeleteI have the DVD of A Boyfriend for Christmas. Perhaps I'll watch it on Sunday.
ReplyDeletedstoutholcomb - I love that you have A Boyfriend for Christmas on DVD, too! I remember when Hallmark used to air it; they edited out a couple of scenes, and it always bugged me because the story didn't make sense without one of them.
DeleteI was always so glad I had it on DVD, and even more so now that they don't play it on Hallmark.
Wow! Lots going on this weekend! Looking forward to Tyler's new movie, I'll Be Seeing You. The videos you posted of Tyler were great. Will be watching the next episode of When Hope Calls: Brookfield of course. I was undecided what Christmas movie to watch for "Mark the 25th" until I read that Ashley Newbrough is the "mystery" actress with Jesse Hutch. So I will be watching Small Town Christmas. Have a great weekend Net and to everyone that visits here!
ReplyDeleteJoyce, Awww... Small Town Christmas, that's such a sweet one! Hope you enjoyed the rewatch! :)
DeleteIt's going to be a double-feature for me tonight. After I watch I'll Be Seeing You, I'm going to watch my "Mark the 25th" movie - A Season For Family, a heartfelt film from a few years ago which also starred Stacey Farber (who plays opposite Tyler in I'll Be Seeing You). Guess I'll need a bigger bowl for my popcorn!
ReplyDeleteMark, Love that you did a double-feature movie night! That's so fun! :)
DeleteAww, I'll be Seeing You certainly lives up to it's hype! -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, So glad you enjoyed this one! I watched a few minutes of the beginning last night and it is so cute, so far! Really enjoying it!!!! :)
DeleteI'm catching up on a few movies. Just finished a Little Park Music on Hallmark. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was warm, it was kind, it was uplifting and it was filled with how a community should be together. The leads in this were both very charming and I feel they really had a good chemistry together. I love their scenes and especially their stake out that they had. I recommend this movie highly and feel that it is one of the best movies Hallmark has had recently. -Deanna
ReplyDeleteDeanna, Thank you for this wonderful review and sharing that you recommend this movie highly. That is great to hear. I love when movies have a warm, shared community... appreciate you taking the time to share with us! :)
DeleteI had a terrible weekend. When Hope Calls was very much needed tonight. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Oh, honey... sending you a big hug right now. I'm glad When Hope Calls could add an uplifting moment to your weekend. If you need to talk, please send me an email.
DeleteI finally got to watch Bee My Love and ......... I LOVED IT. Yes, there was a little silliness such as her being a culinary expert but she needed to see how honey worked to see if she can use it. I mean, these culinary experts know this already and do not need a bee lesson to know that.
ReplyDeleteBut I loved how she learned the process. It might have been better written if she said she was going to use honey and wanted to see how his was so special and the process. But I am pretty sure she said in the beginning she needed to see how it could be worked into her dishes.
I loved the actress and Robin Dunne together. I loved her sister Emily A and loved the towns people coming together to help Aaron and Whitmore honey. I am just a sucker for a story of the town coming together to help someone. Now the losing of the bee farm stuff, that's overdone but I can see how that happens in life especially nowadays with GLP1's and people eating less sugar. I know people don't like the trope of a city girl coming home and giving up her dream job, but they did this movie so well in the fact that her dream was not what she thought, and it took going home and meeting Aaron and finding her passion to find her true dream.
I just adored this movie a lot and loved all the actors and actresses in this movie. Love seeing Bridgette Kingsley too.
Sabrina
Sabrina, Thank you so much for sharing this review! I also thought the bees and honey-making process was very interesting in this movie. So glad Bee My Love put a smile on your face! :)
DeleteI’ll Be Seeing You – This movie is charming, sweet, sentimental… and truly just a whole lot of fun. It has heart and humor... keeps you smiling from scene to scene.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite parts was watching Tyler Hynes as Mark, the activities director at the senior center. He doesn’t treat the residents like they’re simply part of his job, he actually treats them like family. Whether he’s reminding them to take their medication or making sure everyone feels seen and cared for, Mark has such a warm, genuine heart... and Tyler plays him perfectly.
The story follows Amy, played by Stacey Farber, a workaholic who ends up combining a last-minute work assignment with a road trip with her grandmother, Vivien, played by Christine Ebersole. They also invite Vivien’s friend Sue (BJ Harrison), who’s quietly grieving the loss of her husband on what would’ve been their anniversary. And when Amy’s car decides it has other plans (because of course it does!), Mark steps in and joins the adventure, offering to drive the ladies the rest of the way.
What follows is part road trip, part romance, and part mystery, as they begin searching for Vivien’s long-lost love, Teddy, nearly 50 years after their story began. Yes, you may have to suspend disbelief just a little, between the perfectly timed clues, a decades-old letter suddenly resurfacing, and conveniently crossing paths with someone who might know Teddy, but honestly, that’s part of the fun. Just roll with it!!!!
The chemistry between Amy and Mark is wonderful. Tyler brings his signature easygoing charm to Mark, a guy who’s not used to commitment, while Amy is all schedules and structure. Watching those two personalities clash... and slowly click... is half the fun.
Side note: While this movie is wholesome and family-friendly, there is one scene when they are on the road together where they discuss their horoscopes. I don’t believe in that, so I gave that part a quick fast-forward.
What I really loved most, though, was the heart of this story. It’s funny and touching. And hearing Christine Ebersole sing the title song “I’ll Be Seeing You” was absolutely lovely. That moment alone was worth the trip!
I hope you’ll also enjoy this adventure! ~Net
