Here we go...
Friday, October 16, 2026:

Storyline: Hyper-organized single mom and party planner Lexi (Schull), her free-spirited mother June (Niven) and teen daughter Piper (Verity Marks) are set to spend Christmas at a local ski resort after Lexi is hired to organize their annual holiday party. Upon arrival, she immediately butts heads with Ridge (Webster), the ski instructor and son of the lodge’s owner, Dan (John B. Lowe). Despite not getting along from the get-go, Lexi and Ridge notice a spark between June and Dan and decide to set them up. Lexi and Ridge create a multitude of festive excursions — and excuses – to bring them together but, thanks to creative machinations by June and Dan, these outings keep turning into foursomes. In the days leading up to the Christmas party, Lexi and Ridge’s attempt to pair up their parents brings them closer together, and their merry matchmaking ends in surprising results.
Saturday, October 17, 2026:

Storyline: When Ginny fights to save her late mother’s beloved Christmas shop, a determined buyer and the return of her first love force her to choose between holding onto the past and opening her heart to a new future.
Saturday, October 17, 2026:

Storyline: When ambitious freelance reporter Avery Clark (Fonseca) returns to Chicago to spend Christmas with her mom (Woods) and new stepdad (Payton), she’s hoping for a little holiday downtime before her next assignment. Instead, she lands a feel-good story profiling Darlene Donnelly (Mason), a beloved Chicago Bears superfan about to celebrate an incredible milestone – attending her 500th game. There’s just one catch: Avery knows next to nothing about football or Chicago. Enter Darlene’s handsome grandson Matt (Buckley), a Chicago firefighter and die-hard Bears fan who, with a little gentle nudging from Darlene, agrees to show Avery what being part of Bears Nation is all about. As Avery follows Darlene’s remarkable story through cherished game-day traditions, festive Chicago adventures and memories of a love story that began at a stadium, she starts to understand that football is about much more than what happens on the field. And as sparks fly between Avery and Matt, this Christmas may just convince a woman who’s always on the move that sometimes the greatest adventure is finding a place, and someone, that feels like home.
Sunday, October 18, 2026:

Storyline: Taylor Lewis (Penny) is a single dad and holiday display expert who relocates to the charming town of Pineway with his two children just weeks before Christmas. Despite the challenges of a new home, new school and a daughter who seems to be outgrowing their cherished holiday traditions he’s determined to make the season magical. As Taylor takes charge of the town’s beloved Christmas Market revival, he finds himself unexpectedly partnered with Sophie Shaw (Hutton), a practical accountant hoping to prove she’s ready for a new leadership role. Together, the unlikely duo brings fresh ideas, festive spirit and plenty of Christmas cheer to the community. But when Taylor’s well-intentioned efforts to help his teenage daughter backfire, he begins to realize that yuletide can’t be forced, it has to be discovered. As Taylor and Sophie grow closer, they learn that embracing change may be the key to creating new traditions and new memories.

ReplyDeleteTis the Season for Setups
This movie was a cute one! First off, all of the Christmas decorations around the cabin and those aerial shots of the ski resort, beautiful! It was nice to see Barbara Niven as I only really see her in the Hannah Swenson movies and I kept thinking “hmmm she’s acting like Delores” π especially when they went to the escape room. I also feel that Victor and Amanda were a good pairing, as well as their parents.

Happy Christmas Movie Weekend!
ReplyDeleteI watched The Holiday Touchdown Bears movie online. The movie was really well done, but the product placement was so badly done. The only part that wasn't good was toward the end with Darlene almost not going to the 500th game part. Otherwise, it was a fun movie and great chemistry.
ReplyDeleteMisty
Hi Misty,
DeleteTell me about the product placement. Towards the end, a lady broght what looked to be groceries to Darlene's 70 year old friend, and the made sure to stop and pause on the Always maxi pads in the bag. I mean who were they for?????????? And just weird product placement, I mean who wants to see those kids of products other than when you have to use them???? It was so weird.
But I did LOVE the movie. Lyndsey and Robert were amazing. I loved the relationship Avery built with her stepdad. That can be so hard when mom or dad remarries later in life, and you come home and feel things are different. He just loved her and was ready when she was and it was a nice relationship building part of the movie.
Loved seeing Deb from One Tree Hill as her mom.
It was a great movie and I felt so much chemistry in the movie with all the ladies, the fans, the bar patrons. I LOVE NFL football, I play in 2 fantasy leagues and several pick em pools, but I was not interested in the Chiefs game for many reasons, and tried the Bills movie, but this movie was the bomb. I do not even like the Bears. It was done well, minus the maxi pads for the 70 year old lady product placement. I just can't get it out of my head. If they were trying to draw in men with football, they may have lost them there.
Sabrina
Yeah, the product placement looked like it was placed there via CGI. It was one of the worst product placements ever and I don't get why they need it with all the commercials they had.
DeleteMisty
Misty & Sabrina, I haven't had the chance to see Holiday Touchdown, yet... but the scene you are referring to I saw in a commercial, I believe it was on Saturday and I was thinking oh my word... yu've got tobe kidding me!!! I mean, I've seen Walmart and Folgers coffee, but this!!??!!??
DeleteTotally agree with you both that this is reallyyyyy strange for a football-themed movie - that would likely draw in more guys than your average Hallmark movie. Very puzzling!!!!!!!
I loved A Silver Bells Christmas. The music was so wonderful. I really enjoy movies that bring music into it. Great chemistry and loved how it ended. Great chemistry between the semi love triangle.

‘Tis The Season For Setups was an okay movie. It was family friendly so that’s nice. Most of the movie felt more like an old Hallmark Winter movie rather than a Christmas movie. I’m a huge fan of both Amanda Schull and Victor Webster and I feel like they were pretty good together. This wasn’t my favorite movie but close to the ending there was a very sweet, touching scene between the main character and her mother and I feel like that made up for some of the slower, less Christmas-y parts of the movie!
ReplyDeleteI just watched the Holiday Touchdown Bears movie and it was good. Lyndsy Fonseca makes every movie she is in good though so it’s not a surprise! I am very much NOT a fan of the Chiefs so i didn't watch the movie with them in 2024 and last years Holiday Touchdown movie with the Bills was meh but this years was much better. It was thankfully family friendly!
ReplyDeleteThis is the only one I've watched.

Review: Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story -
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly? Yes -
Recommend? Yes, but as a sweet story, not for the romance -
I did not watch the two previous Holiday Touchdown movies. Not because I don't like football - I do - but because I thought too much emphasis would be on football and the team and not much on a good story. If I want football, I'll watch football. But I wanted to watch this one because 1) I live in a suburb of Chicago and wanted to see what they would do with the team and the sights and 2) I really enjoy Lyndsy Fonseca.
And, at least for this movie, my suspicions were right. I enjoyed this movie but not for the romance between the leads. In fact, I thought it confusing. They went back and forth between really liking each other, then not being sure, then back to liking each other, then back...and so on. Maybe because the romance was secondary, it was not well developed. It just didn't ring true.
Yet, I enjoyed this movie. The plot - the main plot - is about a "gram's" 500th game...how she became a fan, her life now, and the working's behind the big celebration. This story was so well-told! And the acting by everyone - top notch! Yeah, they overdid it with the Bears talk and the Bears highlights and the Bears cameos. But still, I recommend the movie - for the sweet story that it is.
A couple of things worth mentioning...
* At the beginning, on the marquee of the Chicago Theater, they show 2 movies playing: Next Stop, Christmas and The Christmas House. Get it? But what is also funny is that this theater does not ever show films, only live productions.
* Christkindlemarket, which they actually advertise and where some of the characters spend some time, is shown without a crowd. Trust me, that place is jam packed whenever you go.
* It was fun to see some of the buildings and scenery in downtown Chicago, although sometimes a name was changed.
Silver Bells at Christmas was a wonderful movie. I will be adding it to my must watch movies every year.
ReplyDeleteReview: 'Tis the Season for Setups -
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly? Yes -
Recommend? A Mild Yes -
This movie is more about family dynamics than the romance between Amanda and Victor, and that for me is a plus. I enjoyed watching the relationship between Amanda and her mother and daughter play out, along with the relationship between Victor and his dad. It kept my interest from start to finish. And the connection between her mom and his dad - great chemistry! In fact, I felt they had more chemistry than Amanda and Victor! A couple of other problems for me: Amanda seemed to fluctuate between no-fun and wildly-fun too much. And she sure seemed to ski like a pro after not being on skis for a long time! Still, I'd give this film a go.
Mr and Mrs Christmas is an adorable treat for both the Hearties and Chessies.
ReplyDeleteNicely's My Storybook Christmas With You is family friendly and quite charming. (streaming on Xumo Play)

Review: Mr. & Mrs. Christmas -
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly? Yes -
Recommend? Yes -
Wow, 'tis the season for family relationships on Hallmark! We've got "Tis the Season for Setups, in which a mom attempts to improve her relationship with her mom and daughter and a dad tries the same with his dad; we've got Holiday Touchdown: A Bears Love Story in which a gramma tries to get her grandson into a relationship, and this one, in which a dad struggles in his relationship with his daughter. In all three romance between the leads takes a back seat to the family relationships, and I enjoyed them all - with this one being my favorite.
Brendan is perfect as the loving dad who is having trouble connecting with his daughter. On the advice of Pascale, he unfortunately overcompensates and drives a greater wedge between them. But (of course) he finally figures out the right balance and all is well between them. But before that, you really feel for the guy. Top notch acting by Brendan!
I loved the sweet storyline, and both Brandan and Pascale came across as sincere when trying to deal with this problem. And yes, you could feel the attraction between the two - the romance (although secondary) was well-played - you could feel the chemistry develop over time. And the actress who played his daughter - perfect!
Finally, that "uppie" at the end...oh, that got me!! This movie has a lot going for it, so I highly recommend giving it a watch, and for me it is a keeper that I will be revisiting again.
Holiday Touchdown
ReplyDeleteSo I have never watched any of these football movies that Hallmark does now- no particular reason, maybe I thought it would be all about football & im only a football fan because my husband is but I never know what’s going on…. But I really enjoyed Robert in the Ted Cooper movie last year so I gave this one a shot. The budding relationship between Avery and Matt was cute to watch, I felt they had a natural connection. I did feel bad for her relationship with her mother, though. She just always looked a little sad and the mom didn’t seem to notice… The movie didn’t really give me that Christmas feeling and I didn’t care for the family dynamic, felt like something was missing, the stepdad seemed to care more than the mother, so probably a one time watch for me. But I’m sure this would be a great family film for anyone who lives in Chicago and is a Bears fan because of the cameos. I’m from CA so if this was a movie about the SF 49ers my family would love it π
~Paula
I agree. It was a fun movie, but it wasn't a Christmas movie. Hallmark should have made it a Fall movie to me.

Review: Silver Bells at Christmas -
ReplyDeleteFamily-friendly? Yes -
Recommend? Unfortunately, no -
I know, I am in the minority here, and I really wanted to like this movie (I mean, c'mon, Laura Osnes! Singing!!). And I thought I would, when I watched some behind-the-scenes footage where the actors were having a lot of fun!
Yes, this movie is sweet, and yes, it is faith-based, but...it is boring! No energy, no excitement, no enthusiasm. And it didn't feel like a Christmas movie, with fun and festivities. (Even the ending, where the girls are celebrating Christmas in matching pajamas - just so serious!) No, for me, it just kind of plodded along. The storyline was also weak - I couldn't get into the songwriting competition or the common save-the-shop plot. And except for Laura, the acting was sub-par (especially by the two guys) - too often it felt like lines were just being recited. Plus, the songs that were introduced...well, let's just say they wouldn't be on my playlist. So, I am sorry to say, this was definitely a one-time watch only for me.
The Laura Osnes in One Royal Holiday - a fun, energetic, sometimes silly person in a lively movie - that is what I want to see. Maybe next time.
'Tis the Season for Setups - this movie had its moments. I liked Amanda Schull & Barbara Niven as mother & daughter, but... the storyline of Amanda's character, Lexi, being boring and too serious kind of dragged on for me. And the times she finally breaks out of her shell - seemed kind of forced to me, like she was trying too hard to simply enjoy herself.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Sarah S. - that it felt more (at times) like a Winter movie than Christmas.
Amanda & Victor were sweet together; I really enjoyed his carefree, cheerful spirit. Overall, family-friendly, and the surprise reveal at the end with June & Dan was cute! ~Net
Silver Bells at Christmas is a winner. Loved Piper. She did such a great job. All the songs were very nice. It was a fun movie to watch. Tyler singing Ginny's song at the end was a cool ending.
ReplyDeleteHoliday Touchdown - This was my favorite movie that aired over the weekend! Marsha Mason was exceptional in her role. She was funny, sweet, outgoing and the perfect choice to play Robert's Grandma. I also thought Lyndsy was great. She has quickly become one of my favorite female actresses on Hallmark. She cracked me up more than once. Robert was a great match for her. I enjoyed their witty banter and growing affection for each other. Their chemistry wasn't on-fire but it was sweet and honest and I felt it worked. The supporting cast was good as well. I especially liked Ron, her stepfather. I haven't been to Chicago, but I want to visit as I have several cousins who reside there. But I won't be visiting in the winter!
ReplyDelete'Tis the Season for Setups - For the most part, I liked this one. It did not knock my socks off. It was nice seeing Victor showing a less stuffy side than we normally see. He was quite funny during most of the movie. I don't think he and Amanda had the best chemistry but they had some. I thought Barbara and Victor's Dad had better chemistry. Plus, it was nice seeing Barbara not be 'Delores' where she overacts. She was much calmer. Amanda's daughter was delightful and real snow is always a bonus! One-time watch for me.
Silver Bells at Christmas - I also had high hopes for this one. Filmed in my home state. The cast seemed to have a great time filming the movie. Laura is one of my favorite actresses. Family friendly and faith based. But, just like Mark25, I too am in the minority here because when all was said and done, overall, the movie left me feeling a bit cold. There was no chemistry between Laura and either male lead. The kissing scene(s) weren't believable. She had way more chemistry with all of the female cast members. It had the same over-used storyline. Both male leads acting was wooden as was the woman from Nashville. I kept waiting for something to happen but the story just plodded along. It also pains me to say this is definitely a one-time watch for me.
I haven't watched Mr. & Mrs. Christmas yet. I will post a review later.
Nicely's The Nutcracker Wish is family friendly (streaming on Xumo Play). -Maria
ReplyDeleteOn a complete off topic question, is GAC not paying attention to their advertising? The commercial for REI features a woman shopping for a gift for her wife. I guess I was both confused and disappointed.
ReplyDeleteNicely's Honey's Christmas Wish is family friendly and quite enjoyable. (streaming on Xumo Play). -Maria
ReplyDeleteEDIT: Scratch that, it's not family friendly. I was really distracted by something on my computer and I completely missed the 2 lesbians staying at the hotel. Really sorry about that! -Maria
DeleteMaria, Thank you for letting us know. I just updated the info on the Movie Review page.
DeleteOff the topic. but I just heard that Tom Skerritt passed away today. He played adult Toby in one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies, Journey Back to Christmas. A wonderful actor!
ReplyDeleteMark, appreciate you sharing that. I hadn't heard. That is very sad news. Prayers for his family and friends.
DeleteThank you for bringing this up Mark 25, I wasn’t aware he passed. He was great in that movie. I’ll be praying for his family.
DeleteTom Skerritt passed away at age 93 of natural causes today
DeleteTom Skerritt has appeared in prominent Hallmark-related holiday & drama projects:
DeleteHallmark Movies & TV Projects
Journey Back to Christmas (2016) – Skerritt co-stars as Tobias in this Hallmark Channel Christmas movie alongside Candace Cameron Bure & Oliver Hudson. The story follows a WWII-era nurse who wakes up in the year 2016 after a massive storm and a Christmas comet appearance.
What the Deaf Man Heard (1997) – Skerritt played Norm in this acclaimed drama produced by Hallmark Hall of Fame Productions, which originally premiered on CBS & featured an all-star cast including Matthew Modine, James Earl Jones, & Bernadette Peters
I saw Ozark Mountain Christmas movie poster for GAC
ReplyDeleteYes, the new poster looks great! I shared it in my Great American Family Christmas movie post here:
Deletehttps://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2026/09/great-american-family-2026-christmas-tv-movie-schedule-premiere-dates.html
Mr. & Mrs. Christmas – I so wanted to love this movie. First of all, I love Pascale Hutton & Brendan Penny, so I fully expected to love this, too, but sadly no. Both Pascale & Brendan portray single parents – Sophie Shaw & Taylor Lewis. Her husband has passed away & he is divorced.
ReplyDeleteTaylor (Brendan) tries really hard to make his children happy this Christmas, especially his young teenage daughter, but the more he tries – the more resistant she becomes. So the movie is just one frustration after another.
The chemistry between Taylor and Sophie (Pascale) is good, but I wish we could've had more special moments with them outside of work. Their job is to create a festive Christmas Market for the community, but (SPOILER) Taylor’s over-the-top plans ruin the event and their budget. There’s even a second Christmas Market that is another flop.
Overall, while this movie is family-friendly and I adored the young boy who played Taylor’s son (he is such a cutie!), this is a one-time watch for me. ~Net
