✨Christmas in July 2026 Movie Premiere on Great American Family

Exciting Christmas in July news!

Great American Family announces new Christmas movie premiere for July with this announcement on their socials...

“Christmas in July just got even brighter!✨ Don't miss our new original movie, 'The Trouble With Mistletoe', starring Jillian Murray and Brett Varvel. 🎄

🎬 Stream July 2nd on Great American Pure Flix
📺 Tune in July 4th at 8/7c on Great American Family and GFam+”

This is Brett Varvel's first Christmas movie for Great American Family. I'm so delighted it will air on July 4th! I wonder if there will be any fireworks between Brett and Jillian's characters???

The Trouble With Mistletoe is adapted from USA Today bestselling author Jennifer Snow’s novel.

Storyline via Great American Family:

"Set in the charming town of Brookhollow, The Trouble With Mistletoe follows an acquisitions executive (Murray) who returns home for Christmas and unexpectedly reconnects with the former fiancé (Varvel) she left behind. As the traditions of her hometown rekindle old memories, she begins to wonder if the life she walked away from may still be the one meant for her."

Hope you enjoyed this Christmas news!

  1. Probably the best news that GAF has put out this year - Florence

    1. Florence, I agree! This is truly great news! So happy we get a new Christmas in July movie on GAF with such great actors, too!

  2. I just got a surge of the warm and fuzzies reading this. As far as Christmas in July goes, ANYTHING listed as new and/or original makes me soooo happy. The content and specifics don't even matter to me. They could point a still standing video camera at a Christmas tree for TWO hours and call it an original and I would be thrilled!

    2. This movie looks so cute! Jim I was cracking up at your comment 😂
Me too, I’m very easy to please with new Christmas movies. Throw in an old tried & true storyline & I’ll be there with my blanket & snacks 😊

  3. Net, I got a email from asking me if I liked tha July 4th date or would I I switch it to July 11. Because of July 4th being our 250th Birthday. I said I would switch it to July 11 because people might be watching Fireworks or enjoying the day with family. Yes I know they can dvr or watch it at a later date but I like the July 11 date better.

    1. Bebe, I sent in an email for July 11th, too. That was my reasoning, as well, for the 4th.

Also, I prefer when they air their classic patriotic Christmas movies that day, and I usually leave it on in the background as we are having our family celebration.

Should be interesting to see what they decide.

    2. I thought immediately they had zero shot with ratings airing their one new movie for July on the 4th. I feel it will be moved.

  4. Yay! Now we know that there will be at least one new Christmas movie being shown in July this year! And since both Hallmark and GAF are very competitive with each other, I'll bet that Hallmark debuts at least one new Christmas movie this July as well!

    5. I thought I posted a comment about that. The rumors are true. New names for both titles I think-- the other is A Miniature Christmas --now called O Little Christmas Market with Stephen Huszar & Kat Barrell.

    6. the other name change is for Uphill to Snowbound for the Holidays. Both are on imdb with their loglines.
