✨Surprise!✨ Ryan Paevey Filming Christmas Movie with Great American Family -- See Details Here:

( Ryan Paevey / Britt Robertson )

Great American Family surprised their social media followers today with a fun video of Ryan Paevey (Christmas at the Plaza) with his co-star, Britt Robertson (I Still Believe) - stepping out of their trailers on the set of their new Christmas movie!

Christmas at Moose Lake has been filming in Kentucky (across Somerset and Pulaski County), but it's a complete surprise to viewers that this will be a Great American Family holiday movie!

Also in the cast are Natasha Henstridge (Christmas Song) and Kevin Dillon (Reagan).

Here's the fun video Great American Family posted:

Parade released the image above with the storyline below - via Great American Media:

Alyssa Dawson (Robertson), a New York-based professional, returns to her family’s lake house for Christmas following a recent breakup, only to find herself navigating unresolved grief, evolving family ties, and the pull of long-held traditions. As her dad (Dillon) cautiously steps into a new chapter with Donna (Henstridge), Alyssa must reconcile the past with the promise of what lies ahead. When she reconnects with Sean (Paevey) – a thoughtful visitor with a meaningful connection to her history – a misplaced engagement ring sets off a heartfelt journey that leads Alyssa back to what matters most: love, belonging, and the courage to embrace new beginnings.

Stay tuned for more movie news!
Have a Merry Day!

    1. Maria, Me too! I love Ryan Paevey's Mr. Darcy movies with Cindy Busby, and Christmas at the Plaza is one of my all-time favorites!!! :)

  2. This is awesome news. And now I am seeing posts from Great American Family welcoming him to the family. I had a feeling this movie might be for GAF when I saw the Brandon Clark picture from the derby. Am I the only one who would love to see him and Cindy Busby in another Mr Darcy movie.

    1. Bebe, I was curious when I saw those pictures on social media, too, but then I knew they were all in the same area filming - so wasn't sure if it was just coincidence and they all knew each other. But, I'm so happy to know Ryan's movie is going to be on GAF, too!

Also, Yes! Yes! Yes! I'd love to see Ryan Paevey & Cindy Busby in a new movie together, too, or a new Mr. Darcy movie! That would be fantastic! I've been hoping for that - for a very long time! :)

  3. IAWM is so AWESOME! Christmas truly never ends here! These little Christmas twinklers that we get lift my spirits. Hallmark's Christmas ornament catalog comes out on April 24th. The new Christmas season is starting to glow.

    1. Jim, Awww.. I feel that Christmas glow shining, too! It seems like it has been one holiday announcement after another lately, and there are some other Christmas movies in production that I haven't even mentioned that haven't been officially announced, yet!!! So much more to come!!!

And by the way, I also saw that promo for the Hallmark Ornaments Dream Book! I always love the way they make it all look so magical!!! :)

  4. Oh my goodness I gasped when I saw Ryan’s face, how exciting! I absolutely love him as an actor, and haven’t seen him in so long. I read he stepped back from acting, something about he wasn’t happy with promises Hallmark made to him? I don’t keep up with all of that stuff so I could be wrong….

    1. Paula, I was pretty shocked, too! Pleasantly surprised!

And you are right... there were definitely some issues in the past, plus, he wanted to spend some more time with family, his mother in particular, and he wanted to pursue more of his jewelry making business.

I think his being on GAF now is a testament to his friendship built with Bill Abbott over the years.

I so agree... this is very exciting!!!! :)

  6. This sounds like a wonderful movie. I always love the family lake house type christmas movies. So happy to see Ryan Paevey back on tv. Maybe he and Cindy Busby will work together in the future. If he will do more with GAF and Cindy do more than just WHC.

I have noticed that while GAF hasn't had much new content for the year, they are gearing up for the holidays :)

    1. Sabrina, I would love to see Ryan paired with Cindy again! Let's hope they are thinking of ways (at GAF) to make that happen.

Yeah, there haven't been many movies (non-holiday) announced yet. So far, we only know about the movies - "Meet Me in the Margins" coming in June and "A Prince in Paradise: A Royal Wedding" coming in August, but I'm hoping there will be more surprises, like "Bee My Love."

  7. Oh my gosh Net! Another Christmas movie being filmed here in my lovely home state of KY! I am doing the happy dance. All of this love for Kentucky makes me feel so wonderful. And, I haven't seen my other comment posted yet but Ryan McPartlin was also spotted in Louisville recently so I have to assume his Christmas movie with Laura Osnes also has some location shots here in Louisville. I know they are also filming at Keeneland which is in Lexington. I am so proud to read all of this lovely film news! 😊 You know overall KY is a conservative state with a very large Catholic population. Net, I know I have shared with you and others my strong Catholic ties to KY and also Maryland. Okay, now onto other movie news. 😊 I will share my thoughts on the two movies that aired this past weekend sometime tomorrow. My husband and I really enjoyed both new movies. They were very sweet.

    1. Joan, With all of these movies filming in Kentucky, maybe one day you can be extra! Wouldn't that be so fun?

And yes, some of the cast for Laura Osnes' movie are staying at a hotel in Paris, Kentucky, so I'm sure you'll see lots of familiar sights in the surrounding area where they are filming! I'm so happy for you all - that your gorgeous state will be seen on screen!!!

The previous press release said the story takes place in Comfort, Ohio, but I noticed today that Great America Media changed it to Comfort, Kentucky!!! I'm so glad they did that - since the beautiful state of Kentucky will obviously be one of the stars of the show!!!

Looking forward to your movie reviews - when you get a chance to share! :)

    2. Hi Net! Thanks so much for all of your positivity and kudos! :-) I also love the idea of little ol' me being an extra in a movie one day! That would be a blast and so much fun. At one time, I did toy with the idea of being an actress. Not a full-time one but someone who did plays and maybe some supporting roles in a tv show or movie. I was in the drama club in high school and took part in several plays. I had several people tell me they were shocked by my roles because I played people who were 'against type' meaning I am very quiet and reserved but I always liked playing roles which were so different from my normal personality. Anyway, I am still planning on sharing my movie reviews later today.

I can't believe it is Friday already.

  9. Plus, there's also a completed movie Shore Of Secrets in which he stars with Brigitte Kingsley - Florence

    1. Florence, I've been keeping my eye on that production, as well, but I haven't heard yet where it will air. Have you heard anything? I'm curious to know more about the storyline. The title alone sounds a little more like Lifetime, but we'll see.

    2. Not much info about it except on IMdB.
Brigitte Kingsley also co-wrote and co-produced it.
      Apparently it's a romantic thriller.
Produced by Good Soldier Films who were also responsible for From Friend To Fiancee which Ryan starred in and aired on Hallmark - Florence

    3. Good Soldier Films were also responsible for a number of movies that aired on Great American Family. Autumn Stables, Home For Harvest, A Very Corgi Christmas, My Boss Wedding, The Art of Christmas and Our Christmas Wedding.

  10. I’ve noticed a mix of comments about this on social media. Some Hallmark fans aren’t happy that he’s going to be on Great American Family. Whatever. They can have their views, but Ryan is free to work with whoever he wishes. He’s not exclusive to creating wholesome family content, I mean he’s also working on the soap opera, General Hospital.

    1. Anonymous, Well said! Ryan Paevey isn't strictly working with Great American Family. He could work next month with Hallmark, Lifetime, UPtv, or anywhere else - if he wanted to.

Also, I find it unfortunate that people won't watch GAF because they don't agree with some of the network's conservative values. I certainly don't agree with every value of the other channels I watch - but I choose programming that does align with my values.

I hope Ryan feels very welcome to Great American Family, and even after some backlash, I hope he doesn't shy away from working with GAF in the future.

    2. If I think a movie sounds interesting I will watch it no matter what station it is on.

I watch More GAF movies than I don't - I know most here won't agree with me but all I can say is that I find many of them boring, c'est la vie - Florence

  11. This made me so happy! I love Britt Robertson, she is adorable and I have loved her in so many mainstream movies! Her and Ryan should be a good pairing. GAF is pulling all the stops, and it makes me happy to seem them having some success to get some good actors/actresses!

  12. Ryan took care his ailing mother

Ryan Paevey left Hallmark & stepped away from acting to focus on his mental health, care for his mother following her lung cancer diagnosis, & concentrate on his handmade jewelry business, Fortunate Wanderer. He cited a need for a break after a difficult, "dark" year, which included financial issues and industry frustration

    Key Factors for His Departure:
Family First: Paevey noted in 2025 that he was taking a break, not definitively retiring, although he has moved on from the "Hallmark scene" to focus on his personal life & Fortunate Wanderer

Like most here I was shocked at this news too! But it's a good "shock"! Would love to see him and Cindy together again!

  14. I’m so thrilled to have Ryan Paevey in the Great American Family! It looks like this may be a lot of these actors first time working with the network.

  15. Wow, GAF really seems to be stepping up it game to get some more established actors in their movies.

  16. I had a strong suspicion, given the location and production company, that this was a GAF movie.
