If you love cozy mysteries, then you'll want to check out the 'Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries' series premiere tonight, Thursday, April 23, at 9 PM ET on UPtv!
The series stars Galadriel Stineman as Cheryl Cooper, Denise Gossett as Naomi Miller, Kevin Joy as Levi Miller, Riley Beeson as Esther Miller, Lance Nichols as Chief Twitchell, Ryan O’Quinn as Seth Miller, and Candace Kirkpatrick as Aunt Mitzi.
Episode 1 - THE BUGGY BEFORE THE HORSE:
A hidden intruder tests faith and compassion as Cheryl races to protect Sugarcreek before Thanksgiving.
And, yes, you read that right... This episode takes place around the Thanksgiving holiday, and it looks like episodes 2 and 3 take place at Christmastime! So, that should be fun and festive to see Sugarcreek during the holiday season.
If you subscribe to UP Faith & Family and have had a chance to watch this first episode early, then please share your thoughts in comments below.

I love that they turned this into a series. I’m planning to watch it. Christie
ReplyDeleteSugarcreek Amish Mysteries- I watched both Episode 1 and 2 on UpFaith & Family on Prime. Theye were incredible! I love Galadriel Stineman, and all the actors. It is so well written and I felt like these both had a lot more references to faith than the original movie did. I have to admit I didn't even realize the first one was Thanksgiving though, and the 2nd one, I didn't notice as Christmas-y but both were really so good!
ReplyDeleteLizzy R, Thank you for sharing these reviews for the first 2 episodes. That is interesting that Thanksgiving was mentioned in the storyline description and you couldn't even tell it was Thanksgiving. That's kind of a bummer, but so glad to know you thoroughly enjoyed the mystery part of it!!!! :)
DeleteI do love mysteries!!!
ReplyDeleteAbigail, Me too! Hope you are able to see this series! :)
DeleteI watched the first episode of the Sugarcreek mysteries. It was okay- pretty easy to solve and didn’t really give much reason as to why- felt a little undone. The movie was so much better in my opinion, along with the other Amish mystery movies. But it’s family friendly so if you are looking for something to watch with your whole family including children then I recommend.
